No problem. I have only really worn it once or twice. It goes well with stuff like navy blue eyes...

Flamingo... lemme think. The Viva Glam Nicki isnt too far off from it...

I've never even given a second thought to VG Nicki. May have to check that out??? Thank you.

Spanky,

Please google images of 'MAC Razzledazzler'.  I have it and I'm sure it looks different on various skin tones, but it's not that orange irl.  The colors you see through google images give a good idea of what you'll get and I'm sure there's someone with your skin tone pictured.  Not to take away from Liesierre's picture, but I wouldn't want you to make your decision from one photo.

I just bought Warm Soul this week - LOVE it. I don't find it too glittery at all; more subtle sheen. It's a gorgeous bronzy peach blush with some glow. It's my first mineralize product and I'm trying hard to resist going back to buy another one. Trying. We'll see what the weekend brings.

Thanks Audrey, I'll check out Warm Soul. Did you buy Launch Away? Is it too close to Warm Soul, because isn't it kind of peachy???

I will agree that
a) i have slightly yellow toned skin
b) the lighting in my bathroom usually turns things a bit more yellow/orangey than they are.

If you google-translate the page, she apologizes that she could only do really quickie bad swatches and couldn't do any wet or with base, plus she only had some toilet paper to do her paper swatches with. It seems like she usually only gets to test stuff at press events, which aren't the best spots to swatch everything - she probably saw all these along with a bunch of other collections and just holds back on releasing the photos until the press embargo is lifted. I'm OK with what she does because she doesn't go all crazy with ads and other ways of making money off her blog, plus heck, she IS usually the first out the gate with full collection swatches - what's not to like?! biguns.gif

I DO think her close up photos are really great here - especially the MES. You can tell very easily how the swirls are different colors and different textures, including some swirls that are almost matte and some that are super glittery, with sheen-style swirls (like Semi-Precious sheen) mixed in.

As my MA said, half the blushes and MSFs are glittery and the other half are new, improved sheen, as good or better than SP. The eyeshadows are broken down into glittery, sheen-y and more matte. From Yuki's swatches, it seems like if you want more or less glitter, you just have to swirl hunt for ones with the thinnest or thickest swirls of the colors/textures you want. That's rough for people who are stuck ordering online, but hey, if it's very important, I bet there are Specktrettes who would be happy to do a little extra personal swirl hunting and mail you the spoils. Last year I bought the ENTIRE collection of MES for a friend of mine out of state and believe me, I picked through everything for her.

In honor of these swatches, I wore Hint of Sapphire today, highlighted with Young Venus, and I felt like I had fairy tale eyes all day. It was very cute with Weekend Getaway on the lips and a little Sakura blush on the cheeks. 'Had to wear happy makeup, because I had a cracked tooth drilled the hell up for prep for my first crown. crybaby.gif

I also wore Sakura, today! Sorry you had a cracked tooth for prep for your first crown. Hope it's not painful. th_cheerup.gif

ENABLER ALERT! I'm trying to talk myself out of it. I've seen the pictures & looked them again, per your request (j/k) & I can't figure it out. I like it, but not sure if it's me.

I posted earlier about my disdain for lustres. I can't make them work. I asked for suggestions for help with lustres staying power. I've tried lipliners but it's not enough staying power. I need a lip sealant. Anybody have any ideas?

Okay, to help my RD curiosity I'm going to wear one of MU lustres this weekend and see if the staying power drives me bonkers (like it usually does). If I make it work this could be bad for me & the HC collx lippies.

I tried it on...its basically a bright peach color on me (things end up very true to tube on me though, you may be different)...

as for another possible dupe-ish thing for Flamingo...the tokidoki gelato lip balm stain in Donutella is kinda similar also.

I can't really help with the staying power thing...thats one of the things I like about lustres, that I can just apply them whenever, in the car, etc...no need to be super neat or use lipliner with it.

Spanky

Here is what Razzledazzler looks like on me... probably better to show the color than hand swatch.

Thank you for going out of your way to help me. I just saw this after I posted the last thank you. I really like this & it looks especially nice on you! I think lip swatches make it easier to picture how it may look on me.

Theres a picture right there above this post wearing it...

I do like it...its more on the peachy side for me than orange and its a little bit cooler toned than most shades in that range of color so I can pull it off...

normally orangey tones make me look sick but I can do peach....if paired with a peachy blush (it looks really good with Launch Away)...it does take a bit of work to get it non-streaky but its still pretty cute.

I'll be honest.  I like the way lustres feel, but staying power? Forget about it.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to talk you into it.  I just know how that remorse feels. I hope this weekend helps in your decision process.  :-)

I just bought Launch Away & have worn it twice, but I really like it...so hearing that they look together makes me want it more. Ahh.

Trust me, I want to love lustres...that's why I'm trying to make them work.

Am I the only one super excited with the MES? I don’t know..I liked some lipsticks but when I go out at night I hate to keep retouching it, so I think the MES (depending on swatches) would be a better investment =D

wishlits so far:

- Water

- Universal  Appeal

- Neo nebula

- Aurora

- Super Nova

- Solar Ray

- Light Year

i had 2 different lists, but now that i've seen swatches, that list has gotten smaller...

I might be back on team Cut a Caper. It seems like it may be in between Razzledazzler (more peach than CaC) and Flamingo (more pink than CaC). I just wonder if Ever Hip would be repromoted again, because I am lusting after that one, big time!

Imo, VG Nicky is nothing like Flamingo. It's much brighter and the finish is completely different.

They're nothing alike. Launch Away isn't peachy on me at all - it goes pink. Warm Soul is almost a bronzer/glowy peach blush cross. It's much browner, although it doesn't look brown on me. I'm really enjoying Warm Soul. I like Launch Away too, but I've been reaching for my coral blushes and bronzers all summer.

I agree with you there...its not a dupe by any means, but i dont buy a lot of colors like that so out of the lipsticks I had, it was one of the closer ones.

Very pretty - it's much closer to a nude on me but my skintone is darker than yours.

If you get a Stratus with little brown/beige, it will swatch much more purple (see my post a few pages back). It might take some effort to find a Stratus with a lot of purple, but IMO, it's well worth the time and energy to find the perfect swirl.
