VERY good question! From what I can see, for the most part, yes. There was a lot of purple in the outer ring and what remains on my pot base is consistent with what it looked like on top. However, there was some more brown on the edge but you could see that it was more of a surface swirl and not as thick. So that didn't carry through, but I wouldn't have thought it would since it looked so thin in the first place.
Here's the before and after pics to compare. HTH
Ah thank you so much for taking the picture! Super helpful. I think I'm safe and don't need a backup then.
I'm quite sad looking at your shattered UA though, that sure had quite a good amount of that amazing looking purple color.
Nordstrom's website still has it in stock and they have free shipping with no minimum order. It might take a week to arrive but since it's a back-up, you won't have to do with out until it arrives. My local Nordstrom's counter still had them, hopefully yours does too.
I don't know if it matters, because the live chat person could have just been lying. But about three days ago I asked if anything from this collection was going to be restocked online and the answer was basically a bit fat no.
Someone may find this interesting so I thought I'd share (:
When I got my Invincible Light mes it literally wasn't glued down to the plastic compact, but I didn't notice until I had already gotten home. I freaked out first, of course! But then it was really cool because these are literally baked onto these flat terra-cotta colored clay discs that say "made in italy" on the bottom. It was just so cool to me for some reason, lol. Wish I had taken a picture but I was in such a rush to super-glue it back down!

Hi everyone! I'm behind but have read a little bit here & there & I'm glad to see how happy everyone is. As I said a few days ago things haven't been so good for me, I did get a few things but haven't even worn any MU since last Thurs. I know I was all about Team Willpower but no one was on my team (lol)...& rightfully so! I was intrigued by the swatches but I didn't buy anything sight unseen. When I saw them in person & I saw how beautiful the products were & why everyone was so excited.
I've never been so into & up to date on launch/product info & often I know more about products & launches than the MUA do (I am not saying I'm more knowledgeable application wise & I know there is a lot to keep up & don't fault them for not knowing about a lot of things, but there r things they should know that they don't & that's annoying).
It sounds dumb but I've learned a few lessons thru this launch & it was a good learning experience. 1 thing was don't go where u don't know (i.e. what the counter is like, which MUA is nicer, more honest, more knowledgable or sometimes more just filing a quota or telling u what u want to hear etc.). Experience...My swirl hunt was NOT well received & it really put a damper on the experience...I tried to explain what I was doing but they still were pissy with me & then I got flustered & couldn't focus on what I was looking for. I didn't go to my normal counter because they get like 3 of each color & knew I wouldn't have a good chance to really pick out what I wanted.
I went to a new counter in the same mall & got my swirl on, a little bit. & I totally hit it off with a couple of the ladies there, so I look forward to seeing them in the future! But I was like a freaking crazy woman & I feel like there are a few things that I should have gotten but didn't...but from reading here & there I know I'm not the only one feeling this way.
I had to put a check on myself tho because I'm excited for Illustrated & of course Marilyn.
Have any NC20ish peeps make ES or Stratus work for them in a non countour manner? They were both stunning but seeing them in person made me know they are going to look way muddy on me. I have a ton of freckles, so that would be a conflict...too bad because they are both ridiculously beautiful.
I'll post pictures in a few...days? Weeks? Months. I really didn't even mean to post such a long post I just started typing & couldn't stop. If u've read this far, thanks for listening & I look forward to catching up with everyone & ur hauls & combinations, etc.
I hope everyone is doing great!
Awww hear ya Spanky !
Don't let that get you down! YOU SCORED SOME GREAT STUFF! Give it a go... Lets see some pics and swatches!

Nice swirls! Isnt Astral gorg!? You Light Year is beautiful
Venus is actually a mid-tone pink on me. But I'm pretty pale so certain lipsticks are actually darker on me then most people. I absolutely adore it. But I knew before I'd love it. I love my pink lipsticks!

Thank you!!! I don't think there are a lot of MSFs like that, although it's certainly not the only one that doesn't have a circle-ish swirl in the middle.
Thank you, hun! Were you looking for an Earthshine with little burgundy in it too? I hope you managed to find what you wanted!

I used Earthshine as a blush today with my 131 brush and it's really pretty and not too dark at all as a blush! I also used Aurora again, but this time on my lids. I have Urban Decay Naked in the crease and a bit of Urban Decay Hustle in the outer part of the crease and underneath my eyes. Bootycall also from Urban Decay as a highlight. It's a really soft brown eye with a beautiful sheen!

Hi ladies I wanted to share some pics of my swirls! :)
L-R :Lightyear, star wonder
Ring of saturn, solar ray
And here's center of the universe but I ended up swapping it away. It was a beautiful orangey peach with a strong gold/yellow undertone, but I felt like I had something similar. Anyway I included a picture of me wearing CotU to show how it looks on NC20. :) Oh also on the lips I have pleasure seeker l/s (note: if u missed out on razzledazzler l/s this is extremely similar, its practically the same thing! )
CotU looks beautiful on you! And I especially love your eye make up as well. What eyeshadow did you use for eye make up in this pic? :)

The only thing I've broken is an MSF Natural too. I wonder if they're just a little more delicate than the norm?
I definitely have backed up lip products - mostly glosses, which I go through the fastest, but also some extra perfect lipsticks like Go For It, Runaway Red and Restrict. There are some things I wanted to back up and didn't, like Gem of Roses and One of a Kind, but that's been OK, since the formulas keep getting better and then the next year you get something even nicer and up to date, like Gem of Roses >>> Venus, or Playtime >>>> Pink Popcorn, or Hibiscus >>>> Sail La Vie. Even the really unique ones you think are too crazy to ever make a return, like Candy Yum Yum (which I BU'ed) or Toxic Tale (which I didn't and was sad about), either have come back or have spawned a trend that ended up with multiple versions of the same idea. I LOVE Toxic Tale and have used half the tube, but now I have Party Parrot, which has such a better texture, and Watch Me Simmer, Scarlet Ibis, SLV, etc. - like a waterfall of fantastic colors that are all super cute! Toxic Tale has plenty of competition now, for my lovely lips.
I've also BU'ed eye liners, unusual colored mascara, and occasional offbeat things you just know will never see the light of day again, like the Gareth Pugh lashes (YES! I've worn them out on the town!!) or a couple of my favorite Big Bounce shadows. When it comes to powder products, though, I honestly don't go through them fast enough for a BU, or they're Mineralize products, where the formula keeps getting better and better every darn year. I adore all my Semi-Precious MSFs, but now this year, I've got HC MSFs which are even nicer - the texture may be similar, but so far, they seem longer lasting on my skin than the SP ones. By the time I get to the bottom of any of them, there will be something better. Those Extra Dimension SFs were spectacular and there's plenty of room for improvement on that formula, for example - lots of future possibilities.
The only powder product I've BU'ed is Elude, but that was a combo of it being a very unusual color that wasn't designed for all skin tones, plus I really did wear it every day like a regular face powder and was getting close to hitting pan on it. I still think that there will eventually be a fashion trend back to a theatrically pale face and something like Elude will be offered again, but it probably won't be Elude - just maybe something similar. This is why I do think it's a good thing to BU Earthshine if it's the perfect daily MSF for you, because that's another one like Elude that was never meant for everyone, has expensive pigments in it and won't be repromoted so fast (although maybe something similar might be next summer).
I used to hit pan on eye shadows and blushes, but that was in the ancient past, when I wasn't such a makeup fiend and had so many zillions of products! Oh the "good old days", lol.
I broke a mineralize blush (Gleeful)
it had fallen from my hands T___T now I always put on my make up sitting at my desk!
And I've never BU'ed something from a LE collection.. I have repurchased "basic" stuff from the perm line though... I almost wanted to back up Candy yum yum!
That's cool ^^ actually I guess I'm around NC25.. I'm slowly getting tanned!

Astral is amazing! Its sheer enough to be worn daily =)
Oh I guess Venus will swatch differently depending on your skin tone. But I'm sure you look amazing with it!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the MSFs!
They are different enough to have each... Perhaps you could do a swatch comparison each of both MSF sets with different swirls so we can see how different the same MSF swatches??
Pretty Please?

The best Earthshine I've seen was the tester @ my local MAC store.
It had tons of burgundy and hardly any gold so that's why I purchased it after trying it out. I knew I didn't have any msf that came close to it.
Imagine my shock when I got home and pulled out my gold/burgundy one instead! Above: mine: Below: store tester.

I am motivated by your ordering Earthshine, Pinkdollface.... :)
I ordered 3 of the 4 MSFs...LY, SW and CotU...And I am soooo tempted to get ES. But from what I tried in-store, a light hand results in bronzy gold dust on my NC40 tone and any attempt to make it show up differently makes it look way to muddy on me...! I should perhaps get it just to stop me lemming....but I rarely wear my bronzy MSFs like Comfort....or even Goldstone, even though I like how they swatch on the hand. * SO TORN!! *
I do not have a light hand...and am rubbish with dark blush/ MSFs... need the idiot-proof variety else would look like a clown!
I did not go after the blushes that came with HC, since I prefer matte / satin blushes and like to go over them with the MSF... and while I was sorely tempted by Ring Of Saturn, I already have Stereo Rose MSF and Early Morning MB. Also, I am positive, Early morning + Light Year MSF will yield Ring of Saturn like results. Plus CotU is on its way. The other MBs in this collection did not tempt me. SR was too light and the rest were scary given my "level of expertise" with application.
Thankfully nothing is sold out in the UK (not surprising with the recession!) so I have some time to mull it over. The previous collections did not do too well either. I think after Iris Apfel and then the big Blush Collection - I forget the name, there has been a real lull around here.

Nima, I noticed that nothing has sold out yet too! Wonder what will go first... if anything.
I'm also lucky in that nothing sells out fast at my counter - I found a Lightscapade there months after it came out last fall (before it became perm)
On that note, I'm off to get Light Year, Ring of Saturn, and Venus and swatch everything else one more time! :D

Oh wow
...That is a rare bit of Earthshine you got there Fiberluver...Haven't seen many with just a tad bit of burgundy. I wonder how yours would end up swatching.
For me, that would be a "score" because the excess of burgundy-brown swirls in the ES in the store quite scared me, even though I am an NC40.
But for your sake, I do hope you can return this one and get the one you want with plenty of burgundy swirls.
"May the Swirl Power Be Ever In Your Favour" , Good luck! :)
