What made you come to that conclusion? oh.gif

Well, I tried both of them today.  One on each cheek and I thought they were similar as well.  I thought Light Year was a better product and the shimmer stayed in one place and meld with the skin for a natural glow effect.  Solar Ray had glitter bits moving all over my face and was a bit messy.  I really liked how Light Year looked on my skin and I could see using it a lot.

I've finished Beige-Ing shadestick, and it felt soooooooooo good! I was not sad as I have backups. I haven't finished any makeup items except Beige-Ing, but I'm working on it. I want to feel accomplished. greengrin.gif

That's not crazy at all! That's how I felt with the cremesheen glasses except Meteoric lol. MSFs for this collection are dangerous for sure!

I love finishing products! I mostly just finish my skincare products for right now, except for lipglasses and the like, but it's always like WHEW! I did it!

I still wish I got my hands on Fresh Salmon! That color is to die for, especially with the gold sparkles! I've been looking for a dupe ever since, but no dice. I'm glad Ruffian Gold popped up, though, because I feel like I can make a similar shade to Fresh Salmon with it (maybe). Rose Maiden is a gorgeous shade that works for every-day or night's out for me. Usually I'm not a frosty lipstick person, but there's something about Rose Maiden that makes me melt!

I'm 26 and I don't think there is anything to worry about! Age doesn't mean you're expired and can't wear whatever makeup you want to wear!

For me, I think glitter is borderline okay, I mean I'm not gonna wear glittery shadows and cheeks like I did when I was 14 or 15, (ahhh glittersticks, how I loved them!), but shimmer is a-ok! Everything in moderation should be just fine. I even wear flourescent colors from time-to-time just for the hell of it. Obviously it's not an every day thing, nor is it a special occasion thing, but more of a "when the mood strikes". Just flaunt it!

Here is my new love...very little gold in this one!

I'm taking Human Anatomy class right now and we are on the reproductive system, so naturally my mind went there instead of seeing a snake! So ready for this class to be over with!!

Today I finally saw the collection in person! Everything looked so gorgeous!! I went to my MAC store to B2M for three eyeshadows and a lipstick. I asked if they had Light Year MSF and they did not so they called Macy's to see if they have any in stock. They did indeed had three left so I went to Macy's to get it and I am so happy!! It is gorgeous! I almost ordered it off of Nordstrom's website but glad I got it today! My Earthshine shipped today so I now have all four MSFs from this collection!! YAY! Also thanks to duckerodeo, I will have to backup Meteoric like four times! LOL! It is a gorgeous color!

It's our money, our free time and our interest! My brother collects mostly baseball, but sports memorabilia in general, and he always has to give his two cents on how much makeup I own (even though he hasn't seen all of it!), and how many clothes I buy, etc etc. Basically he asks: "Why do you spend your money on that?" umm, because it's my money and not yours! He buys stuff that just sits in a display case, or goes into a binder or storage, but he has it and he loves it, so who am I to judge? To me, it's frivolous that he spends money on getting a baseball with a pen signature on it, but to him: it's what he loves to do and spend his money on! So, even though people may feel the need to interject their opinion, take it with a grain of salt and keep doing your thang!

Thank you! I love my swirls! hhee! and yesss 4 Meteorics lol. There's really not much product in a cremesheen so I tend to use them up very quick! Much faster than a lipstick or regular lipglass. I've finished one Narcissus (Daphne Guinness) cremesheen and got BUs of that one, too. I don't buy cremesheens too often because I'm not 100% committed to the formula (I prefer the sticky-tacky feeling of a lipglass, they're much easier to tell when it's time to reapply!), however if the color is unique I will buy it and also get a BU. Meteoric is great with coral lipsticks and even just fabulous on its own, so I had to buy it plus BUs flower.gif

I didn't get any backups of blushes, since a little goes a very long way! Especially with Supernova. I've only swatched it on my arm so far, but daaang does it pack a punch! I'll try to wear it sometime this week to get a feel of how to work with it! I'm sure our PRO-specktrettes can confirm, but I think the MAC fan brush is a limited edition brush that popped up when Tres Cheek came out - so I'm not sure of its likelihood of being restocked, but again our PRO members can definitely confirm one way or another!

I use a regular contour blush brush for my MBs and it's definitely workable. I just dab the brush on the product - no swiping or swirling of the brush, and then I apply it with a very light-hand on my cheeks. If I need to add more, I do the same technique, but I find it reduces packing on too much product, as well as wasting product by having the blush pieces getting kicked up and hanging out on the rim of the pot.

Light Year and Solar Ray looked almost identical on me, too, except Solar Ray had more of a golden-peachy shimmer to it, that made me pass on it. Light Year is much more blendable and is easy for me to apply for a glow on the cheeks! Solar Ray I would probably use for the same purpose, but since there is more product in an MSF, I went for LY!

Oh, I see. You're very right, and just like the few other people who have mentioned similar advice, I value your story and input! :) I feel like I should post my makeup collection as it's only 2 drawers and less than a train case full of stuff, but I want to share with everyone all of my swirly goodies first, as everyone else have showed theirs :D I love looking at these swirls! It's like I can't stop, I keep searching Google for a new review everyday or go through Specktra looking for more that I have yet not seen :p I feel like I'm the only person who didn't pick up any of the MES, CSG's, or lipsticks. I only got LY, ES, and SW, as well as RoS and Supernova.

I love finishing (also buying) products, too! LOL I just wish Cleanse Off Oil would last a little longer with me. Still, finishing them is fun. greengrin.gif I'm waiting for MAC to re-promote Fresh Salmon. I've never seen any MAC lipstick quite like it. It's one of my fav lipsticks. You should have it!

Ooh, I agree but I feel Solar ray is darker and has more of a "glow". I only swatched them both on the back of my left hand which is about an NC 42, perhaps I should get them to put it my face when I go back on Monday lol... I feel the same about the glitter in Solar Ray as well. I've been wanting a BU of LY anyways, so I'll probably grab it regardless. th_DANCE.gif

Seeing it in real life is dangerous isn't it? I was only planning to get Starwonder, Venus (which I ordered online) and go to swatch Magnetic Attraction and Earthshine. I ended up hauling Earthshine, Light Year, All four mineral blushes, and ordering MA online with a GC. Those swirls are just sooo gorgeous in person! So glad you ended up grabbing a Light Year and get to partake in it's sheeny pinky peach gorgeousness!

LOL that's what I keep doing. Everyday I get online I check this thread, and I also google and youtube "MAC Heavenly Creature". I'm obsessed.

But is it just me, or does it seem like there aren't as many videos and reviews as other mineralize collections in the past, even Naturally which was only like half a year ago. It kind of makes me sad, because I was loving this collection so much and anticipating all the haul videos to see all the swirls.

....LA LA LA LA......skipping off to MAC now to pick up my 2nd Star Wonder and my 5th (YES FIFTH!) Venus! My MA friend thinks I've lost the plot with the Venus Back ups......

She might be right. But Venus is such a great color that I can give them as gifts if I realize later that five was a little excessive.

LY had become very 'useful' in ways I didn't expect, like changing an eyeshadow. I wasn't using my Nars Nepal enough because it didn't look like anything on. Maybe cause it's so close to my skin tone. But swipe LY over it a lalalala birds are singing.

I feel quite proud of myself for having not given into this collections beauty.  I only picked up Venus and Fire Sign.  pompom.gif

I have however been rather naughty and been buying a LOT from the sales thread.  I want almost all the permanent eye shadows so I've been going through them all buying what I want.  However due to them being from sales threads it's still cheaper than buying from MAC itself.  Yay!

You are a bunch of thrill seeking enablers. You should be ashame of yourselves. I LOVE YOU ALL. HONESTLY, I DO! I got all four MSFs & blushes, E/S in Aurora & Earthly, L/S in Cut A Caper, Cusp of Dawn & Pleasure Seeker, and two Volcanic Ash Exfoliators. I also got a backup for Earthshine.
I thought I was finished hauling this collection, but then I started reading your posts last night and I ordered Venus & Meteoric. Did I need these...nooooo. Did I want them after you convinced me how lovely they were....yessssssss! To add insult to injury, I hauled the MAC Illustrated collection from Nordstrom. I got the Triple Feature Lip Bag in Red, both brush sets and the smokey eye kit in black. That also come with two brushes. I'm done! I will spend the remainder of the weekend looking or a twelve-step program! smiles.gif. OYE!

Well, I finally caved after reading all of your glowng reviews and got LY.

I also did a look with Water, using all of its shades seperately: the seafoam green on the lid, the dark blue in the crease and the yellow in the inner corner. My bf commented it was a 'canary look', but I personally thought it looked mermaid-y - love the shimmer of it when the light hits it!

I caved and bought some backups. Venus, Meteoric, Light Year, Earthshine, Magnetic Attraction, Water. This time I got a Water with much more Seafoam Green. The only sold out stickers I saw were Ring of Saturn and I think Solar Ray. I think Ring of Saturn might be my favorite from the collection. I think I'm hesitant to back it up because it does remind me of some other stuff in my collection not exactly the same though which causes me to believe we will see it in some other form or another again. Or is that wishful thinking.?? I'm still thinking about going back for another Star Wonder. I like it better than the purple Tres Cheek blush.

When the SA went in the drawer, I noticed there was quite a bit of product left. I was really surprised. I would have thought most would have been sold out. I commented to the SA and he said "it's because it just launched." I figure he hasn't been around long.

Btw today I'm wearing Magnetic Attraction on lid with the gold part as a highlight and Rich Core in the crease. Ring of Saturn on cheeks with Light Year and Meteoric lips.

I know! When I went for a quick look to think about a backup for light year yesterday (ended up not getting it because I didn't like the swirls they had) every single powder product was still in stock.  I was kind of surprised since in my opinion, these are the most unique MSFs MAC has ever had. Even had 5 or 6 supernovas. But I think it's because there wasn't a lot of hype for this collection. Usually really popular beauty bloggers like temptalia, xsparkage, makeupandbeautyblog etc. Post all these swatch pictures before the collection launches in anticipation of the launch. This time, temptalia had to order the products and didn't have reviews until after it launched online.

And I think it's also because MAC has churned out so many collections this year, and I see lots of videos and blog posts about the insane amount and how people some people are *tired* of it. So there wasn't enough anticipation built between collections as well.

AANNNDD. also. it seems like a lot of people are feeling the recession here in the US, and there's a trend in nobuys, project pans or "purging" stashes this year.

I am going back to MAC to get Stratus! I have checked my collection and I have nothing like it. This will be the LAST item I buy from this collection! Lol! icon_eek.gif
