I am nc15!!! CoU an orangey color on the skin, with a sheen of gold glitter mixed in. Solar Ray is all sparkle, it shows up a peachy/orange sparkle, and is not as pigmented as CoU (not even close). On my cheek Solar Ray actually resembles Light Year way more than it does CoU.

Just a sort of random observation because I did similar swatches with my products, but isn't it funny how when you swatch them all out like this, the MB and MSFs almost look the same as a set?

Hmm, that is a really tough question. I think it really comes down to what you like best, because I would answer Ring of Saturn, but only because that sheen it has is so unique! I have really never seen anything like it. Ring of Saturn shows up on me as warm red terracotta color, that has this very fine shimmer that shows up as an iridescent sheen. The sheen sort of flashes a pale champagne gold and makes RoS look quite pinky in some angles. 

While CoU is this orange blush, but probably one of the most flattering orange blushes with a shimmery finish that a pale girl can wear, since the gold really adds dimension to the color, and gives it movement, which is hard to do with orange.

Did that help at all? lol. I really love both!

Oh and for your other question, CoU and LY are different enough to own both in my opinion, especially because you are fair, so the color differences show up really well. What is similar about them is that they both have that layer of golden shimmer and are warmer colors, but other than that they won't be that similar on your cheek

I wouldn't just return unless there's a defect. When returned MAC destroys the items. I would sell on here or somewhere else, or you could try swapping.

Try it out and if you don't like it, you can try selling or swapping it here. MAC destroys all returned items, so hopefully you'll be able to find a loving home for it!

Hi, I am NC 15 ish. I do not have Solar Ray, but I do have CotU. CotU is way more orange and I think it is shimmery, but not as glittery as SR. Perhaps anybody else in our skin tone had both?

Venus and Meteoric came today and they are gorgeous, especially together! I guess I can add CSGs to the list of MAC products I love!

 Ring of Saturn is more flattering on me than CotU. I think I will reach more for RofS.

I thought that I moved onto other collections, but I'm still debating whether or not I want need Stratus. Gotta comb through all the swatches and color combos and see if it would work on me!!! I'm currently NC35ish w/ my summer skin, will probably drop back down to a NC25 come fall (or whatever passes for fall in SD). Is it a MUST HAVE? Or can I just focus my attention on all the current/upcoming fall collections?

I went and backed-up Venus again from Nordies, since my first tube is already almost "1/2 full"  heehee

When I was on there, I noticed they don't have LY anymore.  I don't want to say goodbye to this collection.... but it is sadly disappearing!

 You know.... I have been loving these MSF's SO MUCH I have almost completely neglected the blushes!  I'm NC30/35 as well... I'll make a point to use Stratus tomorrow and let you know what I think of it!  I got all the blushes except SR, and have only used SN one time!  Stratus AND RoS need to get some of my love!!

Oh my gosh...how do you burn through lippies so quickly? I reapply throughout the day but I never seem to finish mine. When I only had about three in my rotation it took me a solid year to get through most of them.

I almost wish I could get through them sooner. Then I wouldn't feel like I have far too many to indulge in more.

Thanks, looking forward to your thoughts. I know what you mean. I used RoS a lot, because it was my first item from this collection, but once I got the MSFs, I've really ignored RoS. Hmm, makes me wonder if I'd actually use Stratus, haha.

I think it's b/c Venus is a lustre finish. It doesn't last as long, so I have to reapply more often. I'm almost halfway done w/ my Venus as well, but all of my other lippies have a LONG WAY to go.

That makes sense. I just checked my Fire Sign and that's down quite a bit more than Sail la Vie.

You know, I waited so long to try Venus and did an actual on lip swatch today.  My thinking was that it wasn't terribly unique and I feel sort of meh on the Lustre finish in general, it just does't wow me, but this is actually pretty unique.  I can't think of a single dupe for this lippy that appears in the tube to be a midtone, somewhat neutral pink neither leaning yellow, red or blue.  The finish is really pretty and it is surprisingly pigmented for a Lustre.  Glad I listened to the hype on here.  Specktra peeps,

Yeah, the Lustre finish disappears quickly!  PLUS I have probably used ONLY Venus every day since I've gotten it!!  With all the different cheek products I've been playing with, Venus is just such a nice everyday color that really seems to work with almost everything!!  So now I have my "half full" tube and 2 BU's... YAY!!
