I know what you mean. I used to occasionally go to Nordstrom with my husband and the SAs would all say hi to me by name. eeksign.gif

I'm so in love with the brush set! I always wanted to test a mac brush (it's sooo expensive in Brazil) and this kit can be a great start ^^

amuse.gifgladly gonna pass on this.

Got my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale book and they don't name the lip set colors. Thanks for putting the details up for us! Gonna get the red lip set but that might be it. Might have to ban Mac red lipsticks sometime soon-well after Marilyn Monroe anyway. So many of them but they are all so good!

I really want to see swatches of the eye shadow already

SAME!

I wish I hadn't seen the pink and red lip kits, or the brush sets...

I want one of those brush sets. I dont have many brushes. I'm interest in the pink bag but am trying to pass on that. I have too many lipsticks as it is. I really want Love Power, Superwatt and Pure Flash!  I was told online this morning that this will be available july 20th if your not a fashion rewards member. cry.gifI'm not...

Hi Mac_Aiken,

I wanted to thank you for ur advice in thread where I asked for advice about a good nude & said us Southern Girls need to stick together. Ur still on Team Southern even if ur over in the NW! Where r u from originally? I've always felt drawn to visit the NW, so hopefully once we settle into the groove of having a house & personal issues subside (please, please, please) I'm hoping to plan a trip of a few states in that area. It seems so beautiful & i encision lots of greenery, heavily treed areas...beauty in nature.

Before u posted ur perfect nude lip tip to me, I had read ur post in the HS thread where u said u found ur summer nude lip. I asked for Summerfruit, but they said it was d/ced??? I tried Freckletone, but liked half & half slighty better. I thinkit might have been that H&H had a LS i prefer more. It probably looked a little diffrent because of the undertones in our skin.

Thanks also for keeping us updated on Nordies launch dates & all that because I know u & ur MUA are very close. I have a lady who is great but I find I have to call her to put it in her head to put my stuff aside. So, she never calls to tell me about early release dates, double pts., etc.

I hope all is well.

NinHouston,

If u need to give the lip stuff away, I'm always open for an adoption.

Ur sister is very lucky to have u giving her goodies. My sister was older & always carried a super, ginormous purse with an uncapped mega bottle of AquaNet hairspray (it was the 80's), I always dredded having to get something out of her black hole bag because when i would pull my hand out somethings would always be stuck to it, including a nice big chunk of broken black EL. I hated it because she would take my stuff without asking, but looking back I miss the days of all us being young & goofy.

Being the SH brush h00r that I am, I am really wanting both of the brush sets.  But that would be $100 US.  Egads, the cute factor is hard to resist.  But I can't decide if they are cute, or just too cartoony and more kitschy?

I kind of want a brush kit too after thinking about it for a few days.....I may cave!

does anyone know if this collection will be avaailable to order online?

I think it will be on the 20th. I asked an online cs rep a couple days ago.

Oh I get that in a few places. Some of them know my husband by name too and he's not even with me a lot of the times that I go... blink.gif

I checked the launch dates and it looks like these might actually be out in Canada tomorrow? That would be great! There's a Bay close enough to my office that I could even make it during lunch if I wanted to... Not that I should...

Sorry if this has been posted before. I'm on my phone and it can be slow to check.

I think this is a pic of the big bounce eyeshadows.  Further down, it states that there are no images available.  I think the blogger just assumed they were the same formula.

Yes, I think those are the Big Bounce e/s in the pic.

I saw that blog the other day and I really hope the illustrated ones don't look like that. They look like colored pudding. I'm hoping for something with a firmer texture.

Ok I feel a bit better now. Was kind of nervous when I saw the photo.

So what's on everybody's list?

This collection is a pass for me. Just as well, I've done enough damage this month. I'm waiting for Style Seeker now. :)

For those of you who own short handle MAC brushes, are they worth getting or is it better to just get the full size versions? I already have all of the regular brushes in the Brush Kit x5 except for the 227 brush. I only have the 187 brush from the Brush Kit x4 set. My question isn't really which kit to get, but if they're worth getting at all in comparison to the regular brushes.

I don't like the short handled brushes very much; I have a square glass container on my vanity counter that I keep my brushes in and the short handled versions are harder to fish out, even with glass beads in the bottom. I do keep a short handled blush brush and a buffer brush in my purse makeup kit; they're handy for touch-ups. I wouldn't personally duplicate many of my brushes in a SE version; I've only purchased on SE brush kit to date and they aren't the same quality as the regular brushes. Some are fine, but I've replaced a couple already with the regular edition brush.

From my personal experience, the brush quality of MAC "SH" brushes is just as good as the regular full size versions (for example, I love my 129SH and the 167SH that was released with Hey, Sailor!). However, I've found that the short handled brushes that are included in the special sets that are sold at Nordstrom (denoted by the "SE") tend to have poorer quality. I think it's because the SE brushes are machine mass produced while the regular and SH brushes are made by hand.

I usually don't buy the brush sets unless they're REALLY cute, and when I do, I have to remind myself that the quality may or may not be lacking. They're decent for travel purposes but I wouldn't rely on them on a day to day basis.

I will probably skip the Illustrated brush set because I'd prefer to save my money and bulk up my collection with full size brushes.
