Holy crap! The US prices are cheaper than ours at £16.83, but yours are ridiculous at nearly £28!

Matte/satin/sheertone blushes for me.  I avoid sparkle like the f'ing plague.  Large pores, oily skin, forget it!

I think in the NY I may start to depot.  It'll be a pain in the ass waiting as I'm away for a week from end of Dec - Jan, but oh well.  The single pots will be coming with me.  Can't afford them so close to Xmas.

I won't depot blushes.  I don't have tons and I like them in their pots because I usually only take 1 or 2 with me.  Eye shadows however... room is needed.

Here's what I do:

 

1) Pop out the e/s insert from the pot using a metal nail file

2) Place the insert on the straighteners for about a minute or so

3) Check that the plastic at the bottom is soft, turn over the insert so it's e/s down, and press the pan partially out using the nail file

4) Using the nail file, pry the pan off the plastic completely and leave it gluey side up

5) Pop the insert back into the e/s pot, minus the pan

6) Stick a magnet onto the pan and clean the sides of any glue (I just use some crappy face wipes)

7) Place the e/s pot onto the straighteners

8) Wait until the glue under the name sticker is melted, then slide the nail file under the sticker to peel it off, then stick it on the bottom of the pan

9) Ta da! Eyeshadow depotted :D

TY, I may try this method next time I get the jones to depot all my e/s.

I have to be really picky with the sparkle too because otherwise yeah, its looks like crater city.

Back OT, I just counted and I have 3 of the old e/s palettes (all full), 2 off brand ones (full) and a Z-palette.  So I am just not investing in the new ones.  They are really cool and I like the see through top, but I can just label with a sharpie to know what's inside.  I pretty much know what e/s are in each palette because they are organized by color schemes, so I am not investing in these for the moment.

I did a MAC live chat today and asked about the double palette.  First she linked me to the single one.  Then I told her I was asking about the DOUBLE one.  She just ignored me and started talking about mascara.  Soooo helpful.

It looks very pretty but I couldn't do it.

1) I like the smooth beautiful surface - wouldn't want to actually USE the lippies

those look so pretty, another curious question--does it change the finish when you depot and reshape the product to fit the mold?

chopped the lipstick a little more than half and sqashed it with a spatula ...I was lazy so I microved all of them at the same time..Ruby Woo just didn't want to melt for some reason so I have to do that color by itself...

GEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I decided to only put my Pro refills in the new palettes. The newer shades are all more powdery (which I actually like as they blend like a charm), but the powder dust on the clear cover would drive me mad. Anyway, just replacing the palettes for my refills meant purchasing a dozen palettes :)
