drools.gifKatred! I'm literally drooling right now. I really wish MAC would consider re-promoting some of these amazing shades or maybe re-vamping them in some way.

Psst... Haven't found dupes for most of these shades, but if you want something that looks like Jet, Morgana Cryptoria "Gargoyle's Glance" is quite similar- it actually has a pinky sheen that makes it even more fascinating.

Thank you!!!! I am looking into Morgana Cryptoria now. I see some really gorgeous & unique shades of lippies.

I'm really excited for this collection. Somehow, it reminds me of the old style icon collections (Diana Ross, etc...)and I hope MAC will continue this line of collections + add some brushes. I love all my short-handled style icon brushes. heart2.gif

Back when MAC was new in town - in the mid to late 90s - i got:

Lust - highly frosted pale blue violet (black cylinder tube)
Grid - frosted dark blue violet (silver bullet tube)
 
They still smell and feel OK. It'd be nice if MAC'd bring one or both back... I suspect you'd like Lust - sounds just like what you're asking for.

I hope this isn't true. I turn 35 next year in October and just got into collecting MAC lol. I like MAC b/c it has a younger feel to it and I honestly don't feel like I am approaching my mid thirties. Plus, it's more affordable than the rest of the department store brands. Maybe I'll just have to be in denial and then I'll appreciate MAC longer lol. blah.gif

Mac, Chanel, Nars, Armani, YSL (especially bad) and Bobbi Brown are all horrible gougers- companies that build in extra margin by claiming the exchange and import fees are higher than they actually are- as are a lot of brands available through Sephora. It's infuriating.

Yes, I've noticed that they either delay or ignore when they don't want to give people bad news. I think the bottom line is that they can't excuse the price difference when other companies are able to keep much closer to the American prices. (Not to say that Mac is the worst, but there are certainly better.)

 

I finally remembered to go back and take a look at the nude lipstick again. I can't say it really does much for me. I don't wear nude lips a whole lot, because I find most nude colours pull orange, which looks gross on me. Or they apply patchy, which looks even worse. This one does look decidedly peachy.

I think we need another Icon collection.  I love the packaging on that lipstick.  I actually think this packaging is more exciting than the Marilyn Monroe packaging.  Guess I am aging outside of the targeted demographic...

I still have BU's of some of the icon collection b/p. The packaging was divine and super sophisticated. And the compacts look so classy in my stash. It makes the VV items look like trash make up from the dollar store. :)

Wow, the packaging is to die for.  Too bad me and nude lips aren't friends.  There doesn't seem to be much that interests me in this collection.  What's up with the "kits?"   Any pics floating around yet?

for some reason, even with the lack of bold, out there, beautiful pigmented colors, this promo pic has me so intrigued and excited

Wow! Tx Naynadine! You have been on such a roll with getting promo pics early. I appreciate it!friends.gif Everything looks amazing. Love the packaging. I'm not sure whether or not I will be buying though. Need to save some money. I will hold off until I see swatches and read reviews. DIdn't paparazziboy say one of the palettes was a "must have"? Was it the Desert one?
