Me too. I didn't mind years ago when the exchange rate explained most of it, but that hasn't been the case for a very long time.

$17 for a dupable lipstick with LE packaging I don't even like?! Thanks, but no thanks.

A big fat pass for me. I love Marilyn, but I can collect other Marilyn inspired items.

I'm not really digging the packaging based on the stock photo. Hopefully, it'll look better in person. ssad.gif

Try $36 for Australia.... I would love a $17 lippy

I feel the same about the new pricing. The lipsticks really has to WOW me. So far I'm limiting myself to 2 lipsticks if the color is unique enough to justify spending that much on them if not it's a PASS.

I wouldn't have been surprised to see even higher prices. The lippies in the VV collection were already $15.50.

17 bucks doesn't seem to be that far away. I fear for the couture collection though. If I remember correctly, I paid $22 for l/s and l/g. noworry.gif

MAC is definitely gearing up for high end prices in the foreseeable future.

After seeing the prices, my list has once again dropped down to a bu of SI and the beauty powder.

I am not a fan of the packaging, and the colors just don't wow me.  The es look rather meh.  Maybe swatches will change my mind.  I like the red lippies but not for $17.

Well, if MAC is going to start ramping up the prices they better start ramping up the product quality too! There have been SEVERAL collections that I have totally skipped because the pigmentation was bad/applied unevenly/repromoting the same light pink lipglass/showstopper eyeshadow. If they start making products that are worth the price increase I will stay a customer, otherwise I'll likely just go with my high end products because at least I'll be getting the quality.soapbox.gif

WOW, that price literally makes me queasy. There is no way I would be able to spend that, I have a hard time paying that much for Guerlain RA's which are my absolute favorite lipstick formula.

My list is down to just the Beauty Powder, I think. I guess I have to wait to see the final price list though. But personally, the packaging isn't a draw for me, so unless the colors are out of this world amazing, just the one item to haul.

Hmm. needs to see swatches.

I think I'm really going to like the lipstick shades and don't want to pass them up. MAC lipstick is currently $15. I can deal with a $2 increase for special packaging, even if the packaging isn't as great as it could be. I still think $1 is for the picture and the other $1 is for the "satin" packaging. I'm guessing that they may have given the packaging some sort of smooth, satin texture.

What date is this coming out? I'm way out of the MAC loop. The packaging is OK, but not special enough to justify the stupid price hikes!

Sadly I want all or most of the lipsticks, all the shadows, both blushes. Maybe the beauty powder.$$$$$$$$$. Not happy I like this much stuff, I hope

I dislike most of the swatches.

I hope I don't like swatches too lol. I've felt that way about a lot of collections lately as funds are tight. I'm hoping it will just come down to a lippy, a shadow, and the BP for me.

I'm not willing to pay $28 for MAC shadows. I can buy high end brands for about that. It's clear that they're trying to move upmarket, but I'm sure I'm not the only one increasingly just turning to the higher cost alternative in the first place since the difference isn't that material and I know I won't have to jump through hoops (how many had to site stalk and wait up until ridiculous hours to get BR items?!) to be able to buy a new collection (without even being able to swatch it in person).

I've been buying MAC since the 90s (sometimes more heavily than others), but it's never been this insane. I'm tired of the limited quality LE nonsense. Launch fewer collections and make enough to last a reasonable period of time (read: not 30 lippies for Canada online store).

I won't be paying that much for MAC shadows either. The price increase without the quality changes is crazy; especially when there are brands like Inglot and OCC that are providing better products at lower prices. Then there is MUFE, awesome products, very few misses compared to MAC releasing tons of products a year that are either dupe-able or bad quality.

I'm not in Canada, but I agree.  Makes me want to get to know the perm gems instead.

Hmm.  My excitement for this collection and MAC in general is cooling lately.  If Deeply Adored actually looks the way it does in that In Style feature, then I will probably get it, but I'm annoyed about the price increase.  Granted, that might be worth it for the new matte formula and if I thought the packaging were really well done I wouldn't mind, but as it is....well, nope.gif.

I see an inglot haul in the near future.

M.A.C has some really gorgeous products though ( not everything I agree ), lipsticks esp the bright and intense ones are good, to me it's better than MUFE ( pigments ) and here it's not so expensive as most luxury brands. The only thing that annoys me : too many collections, some are ok and some are in very poor taste ( Beth Ditto for example ), 4 big collections and permanent ones would be better than several a month, personally I don't even know what's going on except for Carine Roitfeld and Marilyn Collections.

Inglot is a brand I would like to have here and really very much but it's not available in France. OCC well they ship internationally I love their Vegan values ( not available in France ).

A Macy's MAC counter manager told me Oct. 4th was the release date on this collection, if there's still confusion.

I love Marilyn and I love this collection. I could care less about the packaging. Most of my eyeshadows from special packaging got depotted anyway. Probably going to skip the shadows in this collection though. They are all dupeable as she wore very basic neutral shadows. Love the lippies though and BP and PC blush......Why can't September come sooner so I can pre-order!!!!??????

iagree.gifiagree.gif I'm planning on stalking the site around Septemebr 21st because I don't trust MAC. They know this collection will sell out fast. They might try to pull a fast one on me, but I'll beat them to the punch.mac_addict.gif

the MA at my counter said October too.

Since i just want the lipsticks and already have one ill just wait. i'm still tired from By Request blah.gif

My MA said that they were going to let in people 15 minutes before the store opened (we just have a counter) so I told her to give me a call so I can be one of the few to pick my goodies out before they're gone. I'm only going to get lipstics, most likely Love Goddess and Deeply Adored. Can't wait!

At this point I think I'm gonna check out this collex with my sister because she has a new beauty blog: www.presstoblend.com and is on the hunt for new products but I'll be back on my no buy until after the holiday season.

I don't buy from the holiday or couture collections and to me nothing interesting comes out until the end of December, January.

I am getting nervous to see some swatches here.  I am predicting a frenzy.

I'd love to see swatches of the Beauty Powder, but I doubt that we will before this gets launched. I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of the collections that gets posted on the regular site right on the heels of the Pro launch. At least I hope it is - otherwise there will be very little left once the procard eBayers gorge.

I've never tried a beauty powder but a sheer peach flush is hard to go wrong with on lightish warm toned skin.
