MAC for Marilyn - Page 53

I'm going to a Marilyn event Sept 24th. I have no idea what I'm going to get. Nothing really excites me based on descriptions. I need swatches.

Maybe I am a nut, but based on the swatches linked on pg 45 or so, the shadows look just like the pressed pigments. Anyone else?

Completely forgot, the first pic we saw of the lipsticks said they are pressed pigments.

Now I see why the swatches we've seen are so so and glittery. Money saved for me.

They are pressed pigments just like the one from F&B as sure as I am sitting here. I wish they were regular VP.

Where does it say that? I'm confused on how it says Veluxe Pearl next to it in that picture...

nevermind. i see it now. i had to really blow the picture up to sorta read it...

seems kinda contradictory though... how can it be a veluxe pearl eyeshadow and also a pressed pigment? its strange how it says that in the description above and then next to the eyeshadow it says veluxe pearl... i mean, I have some of each...and they're not really the same at all, so I'm confused.

IDK either but I am sooo disappointed!

and this is why they need to get product out to the bloggers ... we need reviews!  and lots of them.  Swatches and reviews already please.

Doesn't make sense, I guess they figured let's name it something close to what we already make because glitter bomb doesn't sound like a great finish! All the swatches of the shadows seem really glittery and kinda lacking in pigmentation, not what a normal VP looks like.

I googled and all the bloggers who are talking about the release say veluxe pearl.... I don't see how it can be both pp and vp at same time  11 more days til events and we can get the low down

Whhhhaaat? Money saved then.. yuck!

That would not be a good look MAC. Are ya'll certain of this? I didn't think I was getting any shadows anyway but I know quite a few people here were excited about them.

I heard two different things about the shadows at my MAC store yesterday too. One guy was positive they were pressed pigments, but then we looked in the book and it said VPs.

I'm sorry those pressed pigments are getting such a bad rap, because they are absolutely gorgeous! They definitely have large clear glitter in them, but I didn't have fall-out issues on application with them. I didn't use a brush though....my MA suggested applying with a finger, so we scooped out a teeny bit with a spatula and then patted it into the lid, where it just melted into the skin in the most beautiful way. Definitely not good glitter for the cheeks, but really lovely for the shoulders and decolletage for a night out. I'm actually not interested in the Marilyn shadows if they're VPs, but if they're pressed pigments, I will probably buy a couple.

Lemming born.  I was feeling sort of meh on the lippies, but I could handle a BU of Scarlet Ibis and not sure I have a color like LG.

I love VP so I am good either way.  HTM looks beautiful in the swatch, a silvery white.  Reminded me of Frost piggie...in pan form.

I'm now having a hard time resisting getting a couple of the eyeshadows like How To Marry and Preferred Blonde. Maybe I'll get them. If not, then I can find dupes for the eyeshadows.

Random question, do the counters at Dillard's have make up events?? Just wishful thinking.. TIA!!!

i'm thinking mayyyyybe the blushes. it's going to depend if they are the new breed of blushes which look light in the pan but not ashy on my skin...like tres cheek.

on the fence about love goddess. wondering if i have too many pink lipsticks? jury is still out on that one...

I agree! I might need Girl about town too.. but Scarlet Ibis is so beautiful! It wasn't on my wish list.. I wonder if it's anything similar to Milani Mango Mambo?

I grabbed SI with the Apfel collection. It really is pretty. I, too, am liking GAT. I don't have that one and I know it's really popular.

I was told today that they are pressed pigments too. That so doesn't make sense though for a pin up or typical Marilyn look. Oh well. The proof will be in the Pro launch!

If the eyeshadows are pressed pigments, then at least it will save me some money as I won't be buying them, certainly not after my experience with Light Touch.  If they are Veluxe Pearls, then I'm tempted to buy them all.

Love Goddess is a definite for me - pinky reds suit me very well.
