MAC for Marilyn - Page 14

 

Breath of Plum is a MAC blush. Very underrated imo.

i have sin and i love it. I dont reach for it that often though. I have been more into mattes lately.  But it does look a bit mauvey on me and we're about the same skintone so maybe itll look like that on you.  Regardless if it doesnt look like that on you its still a nice color to have 

Definitely excited to see all the lip products for this collection! I may have to snag both blushes, the false lashes and gold nail lacquer too. Will have to be saving up for this collection, can't wait to see the packaging!

 

I can totally relate. There's nothing wrong with replacing an old product with a new one. :-)

yay I'm glad I wasn't off the map with my description of sin/interpretation of "mauve"....that's a very ambiguous shade in my mind...a little like 'plum''.
I've been eyeing sin since it came out with the Nars holiday collection last year....I wasn't sure at the time it would work for my skin tone, so I'm glad you mentioned that you like it too luvlydee...

Oh, this collections sounds really disappointing, now!!!!  Many repromotes, few products that are new for this.  I was SO looking forward to this collection idea!!!!!

Thanks OctoberViolet. I felt like saying why r judging me, I've seen u in some not so flattering looks & every time I go to that counter I feel like I'm more in the know about things than they are. I understand that MUA are being inundated by all the upcoming releases but at least just brush up a little if u want to do ur job well.

Thanks for the tip Aradhana. It's funny because I loved Sin in the store but when I wore it in 'regular' light, it looked very muddy to me. Still searching...

I dare say I'm not really interested in this collection.. it's for cool undertones IMO.. but I'll look at the nude lipstick, the beauty powder (I hope it's something like Elude..) and eyeshadows

Yup, it's very much NW based. On the plus side, for NC beauties the Style Seeker collection seems to be much warmer.

I think lip and cheek products are still ok for NCs, too. And most of the e/s are not that difficult either.

I would totally go for a Periwinkle mascara and 2nd the love for all things mauve.  BTW, have you checked out Industrial Pearlglide?  Its *almost* periwinkle and just gorgeous.  OF course, Midnight Snack is my favorite periwinkle-ish color EVER.

 

I know everyone is scheming on these red matte lippies, but being the blush h00r I am, I am really excited about all the blushes and completely derailing for the beauty powder.  Plus, beauty powder and blushes in special packaging?  TDF

Thank you martiangurll! I do have Industrial Pearlglide and I love it. It does seem to make my eyes tear though. I think with old age my eyes have become very sensitive. May I ask what company has Midnight Snack? Is this a MAC liner? I am going to google it. Now that you mentioned it I want it. I had a periwinkle mascara from MAC years ago and loved it. I actually finished it, but I was younger & broker so I never thought of backing it up. I'm sad because I haven't seen one in years. Maybe we'll get something like it or close to it soon.

 

I'm also quite excited about the blushes & the beauty powder. I just hope the packaging is amazing because I don't know if I will be able to forgive MAC if they mess this one up.

 

Here's hoping for more Mauvey colored stuff in the coming collections.

PEARLGLIDES are AT THE TOP OF MY FAVORITE ELs! MAC PLEASE COME UP WITH MORE COLORS! Initially I bought Petrol Blue & Undercurrent but I only bought 1 b/c I didn't know how much I would love them. When I found out they were LE I freaked out. I was trying to find them on the Internet for months & really had no luck... (DH THOUGHT I WAS CRAZED). I'm not a fan of UD products, so I didn't find anything that was as great as Pearlglides & at that time I didn't think any other brands were as funky as MAC, so I never looked to find similar products. I had to ration my using them, especially because I didn't know that u could freeze them to reduce the amount lost during sharpening. Then I found out about GBNF & I snagged a few that they haven't repromoted again. I BUed Petrol Blue, Undercurrent & Designer Purple before I knew there were a whole bunch of people that BU stuff, was glad to find I was not alone in my BUing products.

Ahhhh im finally going to get the chance to buy Scarlet Ibis! That's the only item on my list, thus far. ;-)

You're going to love Scarlet Ibis. It's one of my favorites from the Iris Apfel collection. It's beautiful.

I just bought a few Inglot lipsticks and I have to tell ya'll that I'm almost 100% positive that they have a dupe for Port Red/Queen's Sin. The one I have is a bit more pink but the they have ones that are redder. Also the texture is a little weird but it isn't drying.

Fluidline from Shop/Cook MAC collection.  It was on the website last I checked and had not sold out after the last restock.  If it is OOS, it may be available at Macy's or Nordies still?

 

HTH  I think I like Fluidlines slightly better than Pearlglides, but the second is easier to apply.  The FL however last forever.
