MAC for Marilyn - Page 180

I really hope everyone has gotten what they wanted from this collection so far. 

It's a shame that there was such a craze over such limited quantities - the eBay scalpers bug me in particular. Here's hoping that if folks here get their items and decide something's not working for them, that they consider selling or trading with another Specktrette who totally missed out. I know I was a little on the fence about CIS and I'll definitely get it out there for someone, if I decide it's just not for me.

One other upbeat thing I can say: The past few years, there's been a post-Christmas collection with lots of bright lippies, so here's hoping that'll be happening again and either some of these will be brought back or there will be new ones! We should be hearing about new collections and color stories after this week!!! MAC does so well with all their lipsticks, I'm sure there will be more beautiful reds and pinks and vampy darks on the horizon!

As for PZ, if you're in it for the color and not necessarily the packaging, it's a permanent color at MAC, so I doubt you'll have trouble getting it if you don't need the Marilyn packaging!

I think the color is very pretty so If I can't get the MM tube I will buy it anyways but I want to complete the set!

I was able to get Pure Zen from a local counter near me! I can pick it up tomorrow. Everywhere else I tried before said no preorders, so I assumed the same thing for this extremely popular counter and never bothered to call them. I decided to go ahead and give it a shot figuring a had nothing to lose. I called earlier today and was shocked that they had Pure Zen in stock, and that they let me preorder it. I'm immediately reminded of the old ass-u-me saying.

I got my two packages today from MAC!! I am waiting for Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's to ship my order now.

For Chanel, Dior, Guerlain I don't mind shelling out but MAC is not worth more than it costs and if they keep hiking the price up I will buy much less from them  once they start crossing into NARS territory

So, its a given all the lippies sold out super fast and anyone who didn't stalk, pre-order, or sell their soul to a kind SA to hold product for them was probably left in the lurch.  Is anyone loving their powder products?

Yep, it's super frustrating!  I even replied to Tiffany's post saying "Would be nice, but unfortunately other than Dillards the collection is sold out everywhere for the most part already".  Her reply?  "It should be out in stores on Thursday ;)" as if any MAC addict wouldn't know the store release date.  Does she think I'm stupid?  The point I was trying to make was that the millions who watch her, if they haven't already got their hands on items likely won't get them.  I even said that to her, too.  "Most aren't accepting pre-orders/are sold out already."  Unbelievably frustrating.  She'll get the backlash of subscribers bitching because they can't get ahold of it though.  The problem is, the bigger the youtuber the better quality the video which is why I still watch them.

If you decide your CIS is not for you I'd be willing to take it off your hands.  :)

I was going to get Pure Zen later, but then decided I wanted to complete the set. But now I'm wondering if there may be a difference in the Cremesheen+Pearl and Marilyn Monroe versions because the swatches on the website are very different. The Marilyn Monroe Pure Zen appears to be a lot darker. I'm swatching both tomorrow at the store just to see.

The BP is gorgeous! I'm not a huge BP fanatic, but FM is a perfect color-correcting matte peach, with a light modern look, even though it's extremely matte. I would have considering backing it up, if I was more into stalking. Also, it's so matte, so I figured it's not going to be an everyday powder for me, but more specialized to go with certain outfits and events. By the time I run out, I'm betting there will be something even nicer - this new powder technology is just getting crazier and crazier.

I'll keep you posted! I'll probably have to use it a couple of times before I'm sure - but I'll make sure to only use a clean lip brush if I do!

My mom is going to the store during her lunch hour to pick up my stuff. Originally I was just going to get DA and FM BP but now I've added LG to my list. I hope i can get everything!

Little bit late for that considering other than Dillards in the US the collection is sold out everywhere.

 

I have to admit I really hate it when people get items sent to them on YouTube and they wait until the collection is released/sold out before they do their video on their opinion etc.  What good is it to anyone when they can't get their hands on it?  Especially when the whole point of them getting things from companies is generally to advertise it.  :/

Do you think she got them free or she bought them?  I am surprised she wouldn't have received them sooner.  What is the point?

I love the BP. I'm pale and I'm totally digging it. It is lovely as a setting powder for me. (Yup...*that* pale) I've been trying to get a BU of it, but I decided to just be content with the one I was able to get. I absolutely love the eye shadows! (I got all 4) I know the colors aren't anything super unique but the texture and the color payoff are very lovely. Out of the four my favorites are Preferred Blonde and Showgirl. I was lucky enough to be able to get backups of those and I'm very happy! I am a little disappointed that I've come up empty handed on the blushes, but someone here said that maybe Supercontinental was a close dupe for Legendary.

Please let us know how they compare.  I have the C & P ls already, so I passed on the MM.  If they are different, however, I may want the MM one as well.

Yeah I assumed they get them for free to review them but in this case it's pointless. Her review isn't going to sell any more products if they're all already gone

I don't know about her but most bloggers/youtubers write a disclaimer stating whether they bought the products or they were sent to them. I assume that somewhere under the video she will state that.

I agree though, if she did get them for free it's a bit pointless to do a review about them so late.
