My preorder went through so I ended up with a backup of CIS, LG, Legendary, and FM.  I ordered PureZen that morning but they couldn't find it.  If it was perm, I'd be pissed, but I'm just going to check and make sure I didn't get charged for it.

TPC pulls pinker on me than BB, but they're definitely similar. I wouldn't call them dupes.

I agree. The ever so slight variation in pink is what enabled me to bring TPC home...or at least that's what I keep telling myself

If it were me, I would give my friend SS. MAC comes out with SO MANY COLLECTIONS every year season month (and other brands come out with stuff as well), that something similar or maybe even better is probably on the horizon. My current "favorites" always end up getting forgotten the minute something else comes along. Things that I use months later are HG status, haha.

Besides, even though you may have done all the work buying SS, you mentioned that she was the one who told you about the collection. Think of it as a small "thank you" gift, haha.

originally I wanted HTM and SS but after seeing swatches I like PB the most. I love everything but Phiff, but I still like it. my friend I mentioned only wanted SS. I feel sorta guilty because I was going to give it to her for Christmas but I really want to keep it. am I being selfish? or do I deserve to keep it for myself since I went through the hassle of staying up till 430 am to order online and then waking up at 6 am to buy in store. I just feel so bad I don't know what to do

Hush. It's a huge difference. I have Douceur, Blushbaby, Prism and TPC and I have convinced myself that they're all VERY different.

Seriously though, if we addicts didn't see differences in shade/tone/finish that most makeup wearers dismiss as insignificant, we'd all have one peach blush, one pink blush, one neutral, possibly a red, a bronzer and call it a day.

I don't think you should feel obligated to give it to her; you did do the work to get it. You don't need to feel guilty about having purchased everything you wanted from the collection. There were multiple ways and places to buy from.

Having said that, if you have near dupes or you don't think you'll wear it very much then I think you could let it go if you think it would make her happy. It's really a personal decision; there's no 'right' thing to do. :)

Haha! I'm counting on the fact that my coworkers all belong to the group of people that do not see the differences. They never comment on anything but a few weeks back they were awakened to the fact that "just how many nail polishes do you have, hundreds?" To which I said "No, def not! Dozens!" (I may have about 150 which is not THAT much.) I really would not like to have a discussion with them on just how many e/s, l/s or other MU stuff I have!!  But the continuous flow of little black and other packages I receive to work does not really help my case.

My Marilyn count is:

- DA and 2 x LG 

- Legendary

- PB e/s

- 3 x FM BP

A small haul for me. (I already had SI, Phiff, Redd, and Cherry).

Well, I don't think you are being selfish. I can understand your friend being sad but I can understand you too because of the hassle you went through, like you've said. If the thought of giving SS e/s to your friend automatically makes you happy, then do it! If you feel that you really need the e/s, then don't.

My brother was leaving today from Athens so I went to the airport with him and I saw at the MAC's airport store that the collection finally came! I was also told that on the18th of October is about to launch everywhere in Greece!

I was able to get there only Legendary because everything but the eyeshadows was sold out. I fell in love with it, it's really soft and compliments a lot my skintone

I'm excited because I was finally able to make the Forever Marilyn b.p sow on my skin.. I finally understood the raves on it and wish I had gotten a back up..

LOL that's how I used to do makeup.  1 red, pink, peach blush, lipstick, lipgloss...  I thought when I had that then I'd be done.  Then I discovered collex, blogs, specktra, and it's been downhill every since.

That is completely up to you.

My best friend also loves MM. She has many framed pictures of MM on her living room and bedroom. She absolutely loves her. My BFF was going through a lot when I told her about the collection and didn't care one bit about it (I found out after the two counters in town were out of products)  The day of the release, my BF was feeling better and ran to the mall all freaked out, LOL. She was able to get one last eyeshadow.

I, on the other hand, went through a LOT to get what I wanted. Called countless Macy's stores, MAC stores, Nordstroms, chatted with Nordstrom CS many times, etc. Almost got in trouble for being glued to my PC at work for refreshing online pages hihi. I was able to get mostly what I wanted and some back ups. That being said, I did let my bestie pick what she wanted. She ended up keeping  a lot of stuff and my only back up of CIS, which is the thing I absolutely wanted the most. It made me so sad. I am not trying to make you feel guilty but it is all about prospective. But at the end she is my best friend and it is only make up. This is my own personal opinion though. So don't feel guilty for thinking otherwise.

In my mind, my haul isn't that big since I focused primarily on lip products. I got the lip pencils in regular packaging.

I wish i knew lol, everytime I go to Mac, different M.A's give me different recommendations.. I've tried Nw 25, NW 20 .. and NC 25.. none i liked.. I just stick to the studio fix powder + foundation., in which I am a C3.. I don't really know what that means lol
