I'm not totally put off by the design, but I don't love it either.  I don't normally buy products solely for their packaging, and I wouldn't buy them for the packaging's sake if they're products I wasn't already planning to buy in the first place. The price hike just makes it even less appealing when they aren't never-been-seen or exceptional products....i guess if it's an item missed from a previous release, it's preferable to pay a few extra bucks to get it straight from mac rather than a grossly inflated price on evilbay!!!

i would still like to check out the collection in store...provided i can make it there before everything's gone!

 I agree! The lipsticks and the Beauty Powder will be the first ones to be sold out first. As for the eyeshadows, I will only get one or two. Even the $22.00 price doesn't live up to my expectations.

wait wait, the eye shadows are 22 bucks?? how big are these shadows? i'll be passing anyways. i cant spend that much on an eyeshadow. im only getting a lippie and the bp 

I'm already to fight for those lipsticks. That is my main goal. I want at least three of them. If they had some purple/mauve shades I'd fight even harder. LOL.

This is my avatar at the moment, and I agree that there are much better pics of Marilyn that could have been used.  I would have liked to see more iconic pics.  I am assuming that the rights to those pics would have cost a lot more $$ and that is why they weren't used.

I would have liked to see different pics on the different types of products.  I don't mean different poses from the same shoot.  For example, I was thinking of a young Norma Jean or beach photo shoot pics on the more natural or nude products and a fully glammed out Marilyn on others (like a red ls or the bp).  Plus as many have mentioned before, where are the accessories?  Glammed out Marilyn hand mirror?  Oh well.

Right now my list is holding strong at the BP and a back up of SI.  I like the nude ls as well, but I will probably buy it with regular packaging.

 I agree. In a way, I am glad, because the packaging will limit my spending a bit.

FYI: Today marks the 50th Anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death. RIP Marilyn.

I read that online earlier. It made me wonder if that was why mac decided to do a marilyn collection.

I'm surprised they didn't schedule the release now in memorial. Or they could have done it in June as she was born on the first. Although, that would've conflicted with HS. I still think it's sad that her life was cut short.

  She passed away too young. 36 years old, but yet her legacy lives on. Still and forever an immortal beauty.

That is my list and I am sticking to it :p

Yes, they do.  I'm hoping I can stick to getting only 2-3 items. I can't decide between the coral blush and the one from Styleseeker.
