Les Essentiels de Chanel - Fall 2012 - Page 7

You girls are very lucky ! You already have some Fall products on Nordstrom ! I'll have to wait until september though I live in France !

The collection is really pretty, the blush is lovely and classy, the quad looks good and the nail polishes too. The Rouge Coco caractère is perfect for Fall even if Destinée and Culte are ok too I think. Charme is a repromote, well very classy too esp for spring or fall, easy to wear too. So, 2cents.gifLet's save up money now !!!

The entire fall collection is now up on Nordstrom's site.  I want to purchase a lot of it, but I spent too much money on MAC's Heavenly Creature this week.  It is a plus that Chanel doesn't sell out right away, so I can take at least a little time with this collection.

After seeing swatches, I also want furtif.  I was going to go see the collection in person b/c according to their website it is at my local Nordstrom.  I called, however, and no one seems to know what I am talking about.

HG I hope that Complice is like Island b/c I am almost out of Island.  Really love that color.

I am hoping to test it in person.  I am assuming that I would need to wear it in combination with a darker color to get the effect that I want.  I also am not a fan of the texture of most of my Chanel eyeliners (esp. waterproof), but I like how they look on.

HAven, I like it.. it is very very similar to Island.  I too love Island -- and it's better for me actually cause it's not so glimmery.

Me too, the liners are quite dry and I've broken some of them while applying. But they last all day on me and I like how they look on too.

Just ordered Rose Initiale JC and Caprice RAEG.  heart.gif  Hope it doesn't take too long to get here!

I'm hopeless because I posted in the wrong thread, I guess. I got Caractere and Troublant from this collection and love them both.

I forgot to mention that I swatched Rose Initial. It's so beautiful. I didn't really need it, though since I have a pink blush by Nars and though I love it, I don't find myself needing pink blush very often. Anyone who buys RI should love it, though.

ah.. Rose Initialeheart.gif  another blush.. grr... but maybe too good to pass up.

Glad to know you loved the blush Shontay!   I am in the camp of having a lot of pink blushes for sure.    I never ordered Tumulte and Malice JC when they were released a while back-- because I have a gazillion blushes.  I have a feeling I may have them by summer's end amuse.gif

Malice is amazing! My favorite Chanel blush by far, so I definitely recommend getting that one. greengrin.gif
post #191 of 366

I don't understand why Malice still hasn't shown up here! Can you believe I've never bought a Chanel blush yet? I was sure that was the one that would make me cave... Really, I should just break the seal and dive in, because I know I will eventually, but there are always other things I want to get first. Of course, now it looks like Rose Initial might be that blush. I'm still kicking myself because I missed the Spring blush, but I spent much of Spring scraping pennies together. I also keep meaning to pick up Rose Ecrin and Espeigle... This is the problem when I don't immediately cave into my makeup cravings. I end up with a whole big list and then I can't make a decision so I spend a lot of money at once...

Well, sounds like I defiitely need Malice!

Shontay -- do you have an idea of how Malice compares to the Horizon blush?

Katred -- once you buy a Chanel blush, you really will want to run out and get them all.  Rose Ecrin is such a gorgeous sophisticated nude pink and I love Espiegle too.  I have been wearing my Horizon blush a lot this summer.  I really can't wait to get my RI blush next.  And sounds like Malice, too   lol

I have many of the baked JCs and I don't have issues with them, except that some of them can be hard on the surface and I need a firmer brush or layer several times. They smell wonderful too. But lately I have been wishing I can get the non-baked US ones instead after hearing all the raves. Not sure if I'll get Rose Initiale or get more Nars blushes which I adore or try some Burberry blushes. For the same reason I have not picked up Malice and Tumulte.

I don't own Horizon blush, but I have swatched it in the past and I just googles swatches. I have to say it looks more pink to me than Malice. Malice leans more peach, it seems.

Horizon is different, it's a highlighter and a blush in fact ( " blush illuminateur " ) as a JC is a pure baked blush. A JC is more subtle but Horizon is really gorgeous when blending all colours together. It's also much more expensive ( 58 € here ) but LE so... I had a 10 € coupon off, it was much appreciated ! I don't know Malice but I saw it here on swatches it looks very peachy, beautiful as all JC blushes.

MIssQQ. Have you tried Shu blushes, yet? I just bought one in P medium peach 560 and I must say that I am quite impressed.

Has any seen Diwali nail polish in person? I haven't seen any good swatches online and I am really interested in it.

^^ I looked at shu blushes a few years back and I forgot about them. Got distracted by other brands. Thanks, I'll look at them again, specifically the colour you mentioned. Does it last on your cheeks?

I went and saw this collection in person earlier today.  I ended up with the JC, complice, furtif, and troublant.  Everything else was a pass for now.

I swatched the quad, and there was no color payoff for either of the two lighter shades.  Exactly what has been reported in the online reviews.  I think that I have OPI dupes for all of the polishes.  The MUA even asked if I was wearing the new dark polish today, and I had on You Don't Know Jaques.  Looked pretty much identical to the new Chanel when swatched.  The silver liner did not impress me that much.

She showed me testers for the "new" Chanel collection that is being sold during the anniversary sale.  It was the all of the asia exclusive 2012 including the glosses, IDO, JC etc.

Also she said that most of this (fall 2012) collection is permanent, so everyone can take their time buying what they want.

My package from Nordstrom came.  Vertigo looks more purple on me than You Don't Know Jacques, but maybe that's a skintone difference?  I love Frenzy more though. I also got the JC and Caractere. I love the lipstick and the JC looks really pretty but I've only swatched it on my arm so far.

I got Complice today, and it is a lovely pale shade with what I would call gleam vs frost......it looks very light gold to me in the pan, but it swatches as a pale peachy pink - almost like a lighter version of MAC Naked Lunch on me  It's very pretty.  I'll compare it to Island but if memory serves, Island is deeper in tone.

I am sending the 3 polishes I ordered back......I was trying to like Frenzy but it does NOTHING for my skin tone.  ssad.gif

The blush is divine......my favorite of the items I've purchased thus far.  love.gif

Caractere is beautiful and will be perfect for fall - I could even get away with wearing it in the summer, but I'll probably save it ;).

The quad:  I can get the light pink to show up on my hand but I'm not sure about the texture - it's smooth but maybe a bit chalky.  The other light shade - the gold-ish color, shows up as well, and has a pretty gleam to it but isn't anything special.  The taupe on the other hand....I really, really like.  And the black is nice and pigmented.  I actually think I'm going to keep it, and work Complice into the mix to see if that offers a new option.  I will wear these tomorrow and see if I change my tune.  whistle.gif

I'm awaiting Caprice now, and I want to check out Furtif based on what all of you have said........I'll probably skip the silver liner.

The taupe is gorgeous, but I think it's very close to the one in Winter Nights.

Ah!!!  I will check that out (I have WN out to compare - yes, I could actually find IT). girlhaha.gif  If that's the case, back it will go.....

Wow - I guess I'm lost. You guys ordered already. I see where its up on Chanel.com although - they are having site issues. Nothin new about that.

I think I am only getting the blush.

Interesting that they don't have Indiscret either. One blogger said she saw it at a counter though. Strange.

I think we're going to the far away nice mall this weekend hubs said, so I will check everything out then.

The single es on Chanel.com listed as being in this collection are the same as what was on display at my local Nordstroms.  I was told that there are 2 repromoted singles, and the rest are completely new.

Oh I forgot to add black star to my list of purchases.  I don't know why I never bought it before.

And I finally bought Magic Night - I feel the same way - what took me so long?eyelove.gif
