I stopped at the Chanel counter to take another look at Furtif.  I also looked at Infini.  I'm convinced I must have something similar.  I have to check my stash.  I'm thinking one of my Mac shadows but I know it's not as shimmery.  Also, I'm thinking maybe one of the Summer Armani ETK - there were gray and blue shades.  I will look at those. Infini looked so pretty! Let's see if I can find a dupe before the Nordies sale which is the next time I expect to be at a counter.

BTW can anyone compare the gold shade?  I'm surprised there is a gold shade since I believe there was a gold shade in the last couple of collections.  I wonder how this one is different.

Let me know if you're able to find dupes of either Furtif or Infini. The collection hasn't made it up here yet and, unfortunately, the lighting isn't great at any of my Chanel counters.

I just looked through my stash for the two colors I thought it might resemble.  One was Armani ETK #21 (can't recall the name) and Mac Fashion (starflash shadow).  The Armani was more blue on my skin.  The Furtif definitely looks gray to me with a blue cast to it.  As far as my skin tone goes, a lot of grays read a little blue on me. I think the Armani was lighter and more sparkly than Chanel Furtif.  The Fashion shade was definitely blue and the finish was very different.  I will say that the Armani was closer of the two.  I think maybe if you built up the color of the Armani in layers it would probably be closer but much more sparkly so I don't know if you would really get the same effect as the Chanel.

As far as Infini goes, I still need to look around for more products in my stash.  Since I just got Laura Mercier Sterling Caviar Stick and still haven't used it, I tested it on my hand.  It looked very similar when I blended it out, but maybe more sheer than Infini.  If I just rubbed it on and didn't blend it, it didn't look similar at all.

I haven't done any side by side comparisons though.  Maybe next time I'm in the store, I'll swatch Armani, Chanel and Laura Mercier together to get a better idea.

I was looking for a pic and I noticed that Christine at Temptalia swatched Infini but gave it a D rating.  I love to look at her pics but I admit I rarely read the reviews.  Since I was swatching, I decided to read it.  She said Infini went on dry and patchy.  But I thought her pic of Infini after 8 hours of wear looked really good.

^^ Thanks for your comparison. I looked at T's review too and thought it looks pretty swatched and on. It isn't the typical frosty or metallic silver which I think we have lots of them already. Maybe it is like the silver in NARS Ramatuelle? I don't know because I didnt see NARS in person. I have to see Infini in person to decide.

The fallout on Christine looks pretty awful. I can't really pull off silver very well anyway, but that alone would make it a skip for me. I did get & love Complice though.

Thanks very much! I have to say, I had the same reaction when I saw the "after 8 hours" pic. I was thinking "If my shadow looks like that when I get home from work, I'm happy". I guess it makes a difference in how you view things if your job is looking at all sorts of different cosmetics. You become aware of all sorts of little flaws that others don't notice so much. I'm still thinking about Furtive, although I loved the swatches I saw of Complice on Temptalia too. She listed a bunch of potential dupes, but I didn't have any of them. So that means I'm clear to buy it, right??? sneaky.gif

I love this fall collection!  I got the JC, Quad and both Extrait glosses.  All very wearable for me.

EEEEEK!!! I finally got to see the collection today! It's brilliant. I want it all, I swear. Complice, Furtive, the blush and Caractere are all going to be mine, but I'm also tempted by the glosses, Eclaire and even the quad- which feels like a way better formula than the baked ones we usually get. Think this might replace Nars as my biggest Fall haul.

I got to see the collection on Saturday. I like the quad, though we are still having the baked formula over here. I also like Frenzy and the lippies. Rose Initiale is beautiful, but I'm not buying more of the baked JCs for now. Complice is gorgeous! It is just slightly lighter than Emerville IdO. Those of you who have Complice, does it perform like the usual eyeshadow single - long lasting and doesn't crease? I didn't buy anything yet since most of the items are perm.

It doesn't crease on me but it applies a bit patchy.....that's par for the course for a shimmery shadow on my lids though.

I just finished watching Project Runway.  Heidi's eye makeup at the judging reminds me that I still haven't bought Furtif.  Goodness.  So many beautiful things to buy.  Did anyone else see her look.  She had the greyish blue shadow all around her eyes and under the lashline just like the Chanel Models.  I don't know that she was wearing Chanel though.  I need to jump on it.

So I picked up Complice and Caractere, both of which are stunning. Review/ look/ swatches here:

making faces :: class is always in fashion with coco

Today I got to a counter that still had Rose Initiale. Although I really wanted to buy a whole lot more, I limited myself to the blush. I still think I have to go back for Eclaire and Furtif... And possibly Sweet Beige, which I tried on and which works pretty well on me...

I can't wait to try RI- can you believe this is my FIRST Chanel blush???? Actually, I almost bought Rose Ecrin and Espeigle at the same time, because they both look beautiful...

I finally got my major haul  from the fall collection today yahoo.gif

I got Lumiere d`Artifices Beiges,Troublant,Caractere and Vertigo.....love everything bigheart.gif

Only Rose Initiale is still missing.I hope to get it soon.

I ordered the US version because I don' t like our European baked version.

^^ Hope you can get the US Rose Initial!

katred - Gorgeous! Caractere is beautiful! And complice looks so pretty on you, beige and peachy. It looks different on my hand. I think I need Caractere now, but still unsure if I want complice.

Such gorgeous colors.  It all starts with that first blush . . . I love all of the ones you mentioned.  Rose Ecrin JC paired with Sweet Beige is one of my fave combos (goes with tons of eye looks).  Did you ever try the Horizon blush?  It has to be one of my all time faves heart.gif

Now I need Sweet Beige too. I have been thinking of getting it.

I skipped Caractere but now I have to go back and own one! Your swatches and pics sold me completely!

I needed/ended up getting the premiere regard quad, troublant RAE, frenzy and beige polish, palpitante RA and framboise lipliner during the fall event awhile back.  Very happy with my purchase and now am thinking of going back for the sweet beige glossimer, and try on passion and secrete RAs.  The s/a's at my counter told me that sweet beige is perm. now since it did so well during last years holiday collection but when I went on the chanel site, it says it's limited edition?

I somehow ended up at the Chanel counter today and swatched Beige polish. It's very pretty in the bottle and I love the pink shimmer, but it doesn't look right on my nails.

It's very pretty in the bottle, it looked beautiful when I swatched it at the counter under the stores lights, but after I made my purchase and decided to paint my nails with beige at home a few days later, it didn't look as nice in natural light as it did when I first swatched it.  From all the reviews and swatches of beige np I've seen online, those with lighter skin tones with olive or yellow/golden undertones really like/love this color.  I'm okay with it, I like it but don't love it and it's different from other polishes in my collection.  I definitely am loving frenzy more than beige.

Good to know about Sweet Beige.  I've been tempted to get a backup but maybe I can wait now.  I'm still debating Premier Regard.  Maybe I should look at the Beige polish too.

Have anyone heard/seen Ombre Contraste in Notorious? Apparently it is available in some stores in Europe together with the Fall collection but in very limited quantities. Any news for North America? One Russina blogger promised to post a review soon, I'll repost a link here when she does.

There are a few posts about it with links scattered around the different threads here, not sure which though so you'd have to do a search. Cafemakeup also posted about it awhile ago. I think at one point someone said it's supposed to be out here in September?  This is it:

Thanks for the info! Taking into account past appearance of the limited editions, it shoud be in Canada around the same time!

Oh my gosh! I forgot about Furtif again.  I went to Bloomies @ 59th to pick up a few items.  They had 1 Fall display out but it was kind of hidden.  I had to look for it and hardly anything was in the display so it was kind of hard to remember what I wanted.  I tried the quad again but decided once again to skip because I'm loving a neutral Mac color I just bought so much that I wore it 2 days in a row.  So I had to rethink the quad.  I wanted Vertigo and Frenzy but I was sure they were gone.  After searching for quite awhile, I found them on the second nail polish display they had.  When they put polishes with the permanent shades, it makes me think they are permanent too but I don't believe these 2 are.  They had Beige too but I didn't even try that one.

I also picked up Rose Initial after hearing raves on another board.  But I was still pondering Plum Attraction blush and swatched it again.  I'm just wondering if the shade is too similar to one of the Mac Heavenly Creature blushes I bought but haven't used much yet.  I'm blanking on the name but the darkest one.  I haven't seen too many swatches of this color so I'm thinking its not that popular but I kind of like it.

So I guess Furtif and Plum Attraction are still in the running.

It's a great colour. I find the fact that it's not 100% opaque means it can adapt to your own lip colour a bit. It looked quite brown when I swatched it on my hand, but then when I tried it on my lips, a lot of the plum shade came forward.

Oooh! I'd forgotten this one! It looks like it would be a good shade for contouring, actually... Now that I've taken the plunge and bought a Chanel blush, I want MORE.

Is Rose Initiale Limited Edition? I think Nordies online still has it up!

No...it's on chanel.com too and it's perm.

Finally picked up Furtif.  I decided to throw it in after picking up Notorious.  I was still tempted to get Plum Attraction.  I signed up awhile ago for an event in November but since Holiday will come out before that I don't know if there will be anything for me to buy.  The SA said they would have the Holiday collection by then but I doubt I can wait until November to get it.  So maybe that would be a good time to get Plum Attraction.  Anyone like this color?  I can't find a whole lot of on face swatches.

In Canada, Ombre Contraste in Notorious is finally available in Chanel boutiques. The product itself is very unusual and seems that even SAs in the boutique have hard time explaining its benefits and use-)

I've got one for myself and trying to figure out whether I can use it anywhere except the lid crease.

Have anyone else purchased the Notorious? Would like to hear your opinions! TIA!!!
