The gold over red is so stunning... thud.gif If I keep seeing more gorgeous pics of that combo until September, I might lose my mind and buy my first red lipstick ever. But I'm sure I would never wear it, so I have to keep reminding myself of that.

 

Everybody who posted pics so far is rocking that Ruffian Red, you ladies all look beautiful! That red seems to be very flattering on a variety of skintones.

Well... the search always continues in the "nudes" department!  LOL  I always think there may be a better one out there for me...

I really do love CC but didn't like YPA at all.  It will take work to make it work on me.  CC being slightly darker and pinker on me makes it a better fit for me.  That's why I'll always keep looking.  Just the slightest variation can make all the difference!

gosh i wanted to skip this collection but the gold is just soooo pretty and oh the many possibilities that can be achieved with it... so i just caved in and ordered it right now with the free 2day shipping code MACSHIP 

 

I will be trying the ruffian gold over not only my reds, but pinks and purples too.  yummy heart.gif

On me, it's not as blue as I thought, but not real warm/tomato either. It leans more blue though than orange on me. I have really pigmented lips. It really makes your teeth look white ;)

My black box arrived!  I'm out of town... and they sat in the sun for about 2 hours... Hope I don't get home to a box of melty madness!  Please be ok beautiful Ruffian lippies!!  Shellcat has me SO crazy excited for the red!!!  Won't be able to see them until Sunday....  Ahhh, the agony!

YAY! My BUs of Ruffian Red and Gold shipped. I ordered them earlier today along with See Sheer and Saint Germain lipsticks (how'd those get in there?!). I got overnight shipping, so I hope my black box arrives tomorrow.

So I ordered the Gold and the Naked lipsticks because I literally own 20+ red lipsticks already and most of them are MAC.

 

...Now I am regretting skipping out on Ruffian Red.  But like, there are going to be several un-passable red lippies in Marilyn, right?  So it's stupid for me to order it, ESPECIALLY considering that since the collection is online-only, I can't wear it to work?

 

Right?

 

...right?!

 

(I did order the red, black, and white manicure just because...I can't wait to take them nails for a test drive on my next girls' night out!)

I just returned home & received my black box!mac_boxday.gif YES! So super excited.cheerleader.gif I only swatched Ruffian Red on my arm because I was hot & uncomfortable. It looks almost tomato red on my skin. I'm not upset at all. It also looks bright, but not an "in your face" type of bright. Morange is a great looking orange lippie. I had to put them in my freezer for a bit, they were sweaty (yuck!). I do have some buyers remorse for not getting the gold, but I have soooo many lippies right now and I know I'll be buying a ton more with the upcoming collections, so I will hold off on the gold. Happy hauling!!!

Got Gold and Red, and I figured that Gold would not show well with my smartphone.  But I was quite curious about the Red and how it compare to the red lipsticks I have.  I swatched Red with Cle De Peau's R1 (my HG lipstick) and Red Racer.  I am glad that R1 is more berry-looking, which means I did not spent money on a dupe.  Ruffian seems tomato-like on me.  Racer and Ruffian seemed similar. Maybe you see some difference... anyone?

I hear ya! It's the only thing that interests me in this collection. After seeing multiple swatches, i think it's sort of the lipstick equivalent of Genuine Treasure Paint Pot. I really really wish i had a BU of that! But i've hit "Broke", so i won't be getting it weeping.gifunless it's still around when i get a few extra $$, and i think that's seriously unlikely.

Is anyone else experiencing glitter fall out from RG? It's fine on, but as it wears away glitter is left on the lips. I thought I'd done a pretty thorough job washing my face last night (Clinique cream cleanser to remove most of makeup, liquid facial soap, toner, serum, turnaround night cream. Shower this morning, liquid face soap, toner, moisturizer, primer, foundation....and then I saw some very very fine glitter in the foundation. I don't know what else it could be from; they're tiny little buggers and they don't really want to come off.

 

I'll be careful to use makeup remover on my lips from now on. I tried RG when I got home from work and now that it's worn off, I'm seeing some microscopic glitter on the skin above my upper lip and around the sides of my mouth.

 

I still love the lippie, but I need to find a better way to remove the traces. Has anyone else had this or have evil glitter fairies moved in? shockt.gif

Red Racer has a subtle pinkness to it. They look similar but Red Racer is more strawberry-ish.

Thanks for the input.  I did not have the ability to describe the difference between Racer and Ruffian.  Maybe I should examine them tomorrow on a sunny day.

I was quite disappointed with Gold.  I wanted a more opaque version.  It's great for layering but I wanted to wear gold by itself.

yea i know where you're coming from. I was initially going to skip this collection because i saw Gold was sheer and i had wanted it to look like liquid gold on my lips, but seeing it layered i just wouldnt feel right if i missed out 001_unsure.gif
