MAC style seeker - Page 43

lol I called it earlier I thought "Rectrospeck" was a little too gold...I was like dang it look so much different on lighter skin but its a totally different color. I really wanted two day shipping so I got: Worldly Wealth, SC blushes and Fun Finds and Delectable Mattene. 

It seems that Christine won't be posting reviews for the mattenes and lipglasses until tomorrow, which saddens me. *le sigh*

Played a bit.  I really like the Fashion Nomad but boy is it orange.  Really bright color for me.  But I love it dabbed on.  Very pretty color.  Love Eclectic Edge l/g.  Love Restless but that was a no brainer.  I like on the Hunt as well.  It is similar to Color Me Bubbles but I'm still glad I bought it.  It may be a touch cooler though.  I like the two shades together.  But I need another contour shade.  I don't know if a black or a brown would do.  Maybe something in between.  I've had my eye on Legendary Black.  Maybe that one would work.  Any other ideas?

Oh and Wordly Wealth and Supercontinental both looked fine on me.  I don't know if I really need Supercontinental.  I have a ton of these peachy corals.  Worldly Wealth has a really pretty sheen to it.  Glad I bought this one.  I was afraid it would be too much like Get Away Bronze but I think Get Away Bronze is a more rosy than Worldly Wealth.  I didn't look anything like Christine from Temptalia's full face pics on me.  It looked very golden bronze on Christine.  I didn't think it had that strong of a gold color on me.  It definitely was not reminiscent of Glorify on me.  But looking at Christine's pics, she did look like she had Glorify on her face.  Glorify looks very golden on me and super sparkly.  I guess skin color and tone account for a lot.

BTW - OT but I can not stop looking at the gloss Christine is wearing in some of the pics.  BB Pink Tulle.  I must have this.  It looks gorgeous on her.

Does anyone have any thoughts about how Camden Chic compares to Dubonnet?  They look a bit similar color wise from swatches, but CC looks, idk, more dense?  I can't decide if CC is really all that unique.

Same here and I'm NW20. It's so different from Glorify, both in texture and color.

How red On the Hunt will look might depend on your skin tone around your eyes. On me, Raving Mad looks like a soft terra cotta, rather than really red red. Star Myth is sort of a brick pink. They both really bring out the green in my eyes while still looking quite subtle and natural. I'm NC15, leaning more warm than just neutral, without particularly red cheeks, with a little darker skin color around my lids.

I bought Raving Mad last year. It's great in combination with darker colors such as Carbonized. I also combined it with a lighter grey, such as Swell Baby. It is a very pretty color for the Fall; and while it leans warm, it's neutral enough for NW complexions.

I am trying to only buy Hidden Treasure and Local Wares! I normally go and pick my stuff up from MAC, but I may have to order online to resist temptation!

I wanted to skip this collection... but Supercontinental is really a "cute" coral *__* I must think about it ...

My Hidden Treasures blush is at the p.o. Can't wait to see this baby in person.

I'm trying to make my list.

So far it looks like this:

- Local Wares f/l (I only have Added Goodness and Dark Diversion as alternatives to black, so this will be a nice addition to my collection)

- Fashion Nomad mattene (I like Sail La Vie a lot, so I'm glad that this sounds like a fall version of it)

- Maybe Camden Chic (it looks very pretty, but I still wonder how different it is from Legendary)

- Maybe On The Hunt and Marche Aux Puces (I was sad after reading Christines review, but Liba gave me hope for these again. I'll still have to swatch them for myself to be sure)

- Most likely Hidden Treasure (it looks a bit darker than Burnt Pepper can anyone confirm this?)

- Maybe Supercontinental (I really don't need more coral blushes, but it looks very pretty. I also was afraid it would be too much like Launch Away, but it seems darker)

I got Performance Art last year and mine is much better pigmented than the one temptalia received in the W&F Duo.

It has a nice texture and good color payoff.

And I find that the color is not the same and MAC does describe them different too:

2011 -> Frosty lilac Taupe with pearl

2012 -> Platinum Silver

Jumping on the Supercontinental bandwagon I think. Beauuutiful

So it turns out that some of the colors from the duos are repromotes from the colors that were only released in Europe last year?  I really hope they release the green from that collex here sometime.  I want to try it to sub Bottle Green because I swatched Bottle Green on me and my sallowness pulled it flat green.
