It's the same design as for the Tartan Tale compacts. If there is powder and cream products in one compact, even if they are separated, it's inevitable that powder transfers to the cream product.

not too excited about the kits but LOVING the neutrals :)

I love the look of the little palettes there but not sure yet if I will haul them or not because I have carbon and Sugarpill / Inglot blacks that I used alot more.

I might change my mind as they get closer to release because surprisingly I love the sound of the shadows

Feline is already permanent, so you don't have to get BU's.

Strange enough but it's not permanent here in Italy (It's not a big deal to me.. I don't love black smudgy eye pencils)

I believe somebody mentioned $44

IMO, the price is actually o.k. considering that you get five different products + a neat design. However, $44 + tax is still a lot of money.

I actually like Showstopper and Satin Taupe however.  Unlike Carbon which is the mehest of the meh for me.  I can see why those other neutrals make it into a lot of palettes.  I wonder if the MAC masterminds realize how many cool palettes get passed over because of the stupid repromotion of the same tired shades.  Is it too much to come up with a nice black in the newer formulation or a Veluxe Pearl?   Surely it can be done...

I want the desert pallette for the two shadows papparazziboy mentioned but I already have the naked pallette and satin taupe and seedy pearl so I'm undecided on this still. Beteen Dior's Golden Savannah, Bobbi Brown's twilight pallette and this I'm having a hard time picking one.

Luckily there's still no sales tax in Oregon :) I think $44 is totally reasonable (that's like $11 per eyeshadow plus a free cream blush!) However, I can see how the fact that Carbon is repromoted yet again in both palettes can be a huge disadvantage for a lot of people.

Given the color payoff, Dior Golden Savannah may be the more economical choice.  But then again, I love Dior e/s, so I could be biased.  Now, if the texture of the MAC palette lives up to the texture they have been cranking out with the recent eyeshadows and blushes, then that would be a tough choice, but I have a feeling we will be back to chalky shades for at least one or two in the palette which makes them less enticing...

can't wait!!! all sounds cool. flower.gif

I think this is a skippy skip for me.

same ol same ol

The compacts sound like they might be cool, but I think most of us would only have reason to grab maybe 1 since they stuck Carbon in BOTH!  I know it's been said several times, but why would they do that!?  Most people that would be drawn to these palettes are probably already MAC enthusiasts that have that color in their collection; some multiple times.  MAC really needs to give Carbon a break and find something else.  Seems very lazy.  It's sort of an insult to have to keep buying the EXACT SAME weak performing shadow just because MAC doesn't want to put forth a little extra effort.  AND keep increasing their prices.  I will pay for nice makeup and products, but don't slap me in the face with mediocrity.  They could have sold a lot more palettes if they just tried to create something more unique for this than Carbon... TWICE.  I MIGHT get ONE... but still on the fence.

I'm intrigued but maybe because it comes out the day after my birthday and I've been looking for treats to give myself this year.  The descriptions of the Satin Taupe and Woodwinked "remixes" make me want both palettes even if that darn crappy Carbon is in both.

Hmm. Depending on swatches, I might get the desert palette (b/c I obviously need another carbon in my life) and the lipstick. The e/s have to be pretty amazing, though. I own a ton of neutrals already. Since I don't like cream blushes, I feel like it'd just be wasted....Hmm maybe I should skip this....
