electric cool eye shadow - Page 17

Yikes, the two you disliked the most are the two I wanted the most.  Must rethink this...

the light pink (invincible light?), electroplate, superwatt (is that the gold one?), the coppery one, blacklit and the blue.
I REALLY LOVE THE LIGHT PINK and ELECTROPLATE! the former is everything I wanted YV to be with really strong pigmentation and I want to say glitter but not really because they are so smooth that catch the light. Electroplate looks so gorgeous and I think there are similar colours but nothing jumped to mind.
The two I disliked most were the blue (I had to swatch twice to get decent pigmentation, it had the same cobalt blue color we always see so nothing special) and Blacklit (if you are thinking this is like Chanel mirifique: think again! It's not as black...It's kind of dark greyish with not great pigmentation and the flecks of glitters didn't really flatter it much).
As for the gold and coppery ones, I liked the gold but I recently got Illusion d'ombre in Vision and I couldn't justify getting it (I also have the MUFE AC in gold). It looked lovely and almost a more cohesive pigment and swatch than Vision but a different shade of gold. I justified that it wouldn't look too different on the eyes. We shall see.
The coppery one was very similar to the coppery AC (to me at least going by memory) and to I think to bronze (going by memory again) but with a bit more red (Almost like a cross between). I am skipping that one.
I am still waiting to get these. The pink is going to be lovely and so is electroplate! If I have more money down the line I may get the light gold one.

I got tired of waiting and called a Nordies to preorder.  There are a few that I know I want for sure without swatching in person. Now I know they are on their way come Friday!

I think I have a good excuse to get Love Power as I wear light pink e/s almost everyday. Hope it's not too frosty. I cannot wait to see the collection soon. heart.gif

If a drugstore near you still has the Loreal Infallible Summer Collection display up, look for Pink Sapphire.  I think this is going to be a super close dupe for LP!  At 1/2 the price, I'm crossing my fingers that it is!  I'll take it w me to the MAC Counter to swatch and check for sure but it looks REALLY close in swatches I've seen so far!

I have the same question as Shellcat earlier...  How does Sweet Heat compare to Superwatt?  Does anyone know?  Thanks!

Give me a sec and I'll swatch them side by side. They better not be close or I would have passed on Superwatt. 001_unsure.gif

Thanks!  Sweet Heat could be close to Pure Flash too maybe...

If you loved SH, it might be cool to know you have a close dupe BU!!  But I know what you mean...  it can be frustrating to find you bought something that looks identical to something you already own.  I think it's a subliminal attraction to things you know you like!  Happens to me all the time!

My 14 year old says, "Not even close."

The top is Sweet Heat, bottom Superwatt

The third pic has flash.

VERY helpful!  THANKS SO MUCH!  Definitely more taupe.  It stays on the list!

Do you know if SH is close to Pure Flash?

I was able to do some swatching on Friday when I went to the Anniversary Sale at Nordstrom's. I like the consistency of the product I was able to play for a little bit with one of the lighter shades. Can't wait to get my hands on some of the darker/ brighter colors.

I didn't get Pure Flash because I thought it was very dupeable.

Pure Flash is on the bottom by my thumb -- to me it was the least exciting shade of all twelve.

Edit -- I should say eleven -- I haven't seen the purple IRL yet.

UR so lucky. I'm so jealous right now! If they have a third I'd love to get my butt over to Amseterdam to get it, but that isn't happening. Enjoy Pinkdollface!!!

I called two of them and they are holding the Dragons for me. The other two are too far away and I'm happy with two Dragons already. So if you're in the netherlands and you want Dragon they should still have it in one store in Rotterdam and one in Schiedam. Just call Douglas and ask them to look up in the system which exact stores have it.

It looks more yellow in your swatch than SH, so that helps a lot!  I'm not excite about PF either... It's not on my VERY short list of 4 shadows!

Thanks so much for all your help!!

I just search under electric cool.

YAY!!! I already placed my pre order at a store but I am still happy it is up finally!

I ordered love power, coil, superwatt, pure flash, electroplate  and fashion circuit.  Fashion circuit is out my range of colors I usually wear but I keep thinking it will look so pretty with pure flash and superwatt. I also ordered Dior wild since it wouldn't let me use a normal credit card if I only had the elctric cool shadow in my cart.  It would only give me the option to use a nordstrom visa or nordstrom card.

Ok... So..... What should I order???icon_eek.gif
post #502 of 1158

Thanks so much for the comparision swatches!

I love these, such cool colors!

MAC has really done some cool releases with these, ED collx & the HC MSFs!

Hope you are doing well!

I've been using tfsi as a base. i found without it there's slight migration/creasing...but it was also crazy hot/humid that day....i use my finger for applying these shadows for the most part. i used a brush to line my eyes with coil, but i kind of prefer the 'impressionistic' look i've mentioned elsewhere... smiles.gif

i'm super impressed with all these collections this year. pretty much every one has been a hit for me. perhaps the least has been extra dimension, but not because it wasn't good...just maybe less exciting for me than the others this year.
i had never swatched/used the l'oreal infallible shadows previously, and yesterday i swatched a few in the store...i found the consistency is not really like these mac shadows...the mac ones are more spongey somehow...yet not moussy....can't explain better than that!

I'm so confused! Each one I pick I find a way to justify not getting it.

I only got a few eyeshadows... Coil, Superwatt, Fashion Circuit, and Highly Charged.  I plan to get a few more later if I like the formula.

Coil, Superwatt and Electroplate

I did have Fashion Circuit on my list but after looking through my non powder eyeshadows, I DO have Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald and don't use that one much ... so I went with colors that I was sure I would use!

Also, because they were in my cart, I did grab two more HC MES too :)

drools.gif Wow, Superwatt looks very similar to Nebula pigment, which is pretty much the most flattering highlight and barely there nude colored eyeshadow I own. I can't wait to try it out.

I've got a question for people who've tried these out - how is the texture as far as smoothing out the texture of your eyelid skin?

The best thing about the Big Bounces was that it sort of formed a second skin on top of your lids, eradicating any wrinkles or crepe-iness. Most pale shimmery colors accentuate my eye texture, so anything that goes on very smoothly and slickly would be instant love.

Thank you, PixieDancer! I'll go check Pink Sapphire. Hope they still have it. amuse.gif It's crazy, I don't know anything (OK, OK, maybe a little bit LOL) about other brands. I should study more. lol.gif

Thank you, Richelle83! I just don't know what I should get. eeksign.gif

Who is going to Nordstrom tomorrow? cheerleader.gif
