regarding the pressed pigments, what do you guys mean by 'crushing'? mine don't seem to have chunks...or maybe they do and i just can't tell....

For me, crushing them up a little helps take away any powdery edge, but I only bother with it if I'm going to use a brush. Mostly I've just swiped my finger lightly over the top and just used that for my eyes, although today I experimented and used a stiff brush to apply Warming Heart on top of Palladium Metal-X. That was actually a really nice wet effect, as a matter of fact.

liba....did she use the MAC metal spatula?Or a plastic spatula?

I really like the idea of using a spatula for the pressed pigments because I always prefer the "spatula-method".

Can not wait to get my pressed pigments and to play with them!

I know that's what I do at home, if I'm not just using a finger, but I've just been wearing them on my eyes with my own application so far. Team Warming Heart!

pretty sure plastic. that's what I've used myself - works just fine.

They definitely are fun to play with!

my 215 is going back.  its no where near as nice as the 227.   its not scratchy. but the bristles are different, very different;  stiff and they don't have the natural sheen to them that i'm use to with mac's natural bristle brushes.    i expected a better quality brush.

s/t stiff bristles are good, esp. for gel products or I have noticed the EDES go on better with the stiffer bristles

I know,    I thought about that after i returned it,  and decided that I made a good decision.  its not a bad brush, just not what I expected.   I was really looking for a smaller 227, so not the best quality in comparison to that.

It's really more like the 214 rather than the 227. I still like mine.

Naturally Defined and Coffee Walnut Pro Sculpting Creams are currently sold out on the U.S. site.

I just did a swatch on the back of my hand using Richly Honed PSC and Aloha pigment buffed out on top. It looks really pretty so I may try it on my lids tomorrow. This may be the look that I'd want from the Deeply Dashing PP without so much glitter.

Welp after some persuasion and getting a cp for a friend I decided to get some pigments. Bought Day Gleam, Beaming and Deeply Dashing. HOLY CRAP these things are stunning seriously. Lightly dabbed pixie epoxy on the lid, applied all three and viola, sparkly nude smokey eye! Once I got the application right there was no fall out, no glitter in my eye, chest, shirt, cheek or anywhere else. Just a little practice and these are completely wearable. Haven't tried them wet on my face yet.

okay this morning i tried using the 286, and it buffed nicely, but i had a TON of fallout! i had better luck in the fallout department when i used my finger. but i didn't get as much of the colour i felt. anyway, it'd be good to know exactly which stiff brush i should use....or maybe you're saying i should get that 215?

anyway, i wiped off a large amount of deeply dashing from my undereyes/cheekbones, but it left a wash of sparkle.  but i decided it didn't look bad, just eclectic, so i wore it to work. and i don't think anyone actually noticed that i had sparkle central orbitals, or at least they didn't tell me!

i love my 163 brush. its amazing. everything else from this collection, not so much. I did wanna love the sculpting creme, but i feel like the color range doesnt suit me. maybe in a later time more shades will b added. until then, on to the next collection pompom.gif

I am in love with my copper beach it looks so natural. I wore it today with lancome mocha havana on my cheeks and i can still see the defintion. I dont think itll work when i get darker for the summer. I havent worn richly honed out yet but im saving it for a clubbing night out lol

me too. i found it worked well, but i'm no pro.... i really like richly honed. it's a bit more intense than i'm use to, but not in an unnatural way.

i was just watching you tube videos by michelle phan's sister-in-law, and it is crazy how she sculpts her face into angelina jolie and scarlett johansson. serious contouring going on....i guess it helps that she has full lips...it's seems to be easier to subtract with makeup than add...

Wow! I'm happy you love them!! Definitely give us your full eye routine with these - moisturizer? concealers? primers? or just the Pixy Epoxy? Type of brush? Finger? Sponge? (I'd like to try these with a sponge - I think that could work well).

For sure snap a photo if you can - I get the feeling they will photograph even better than they look IRL.

Yay for Pressed Pigment Success! clapping.gif

286 does sound a little too fluffy for safety. The brush I've like best with them so far is that larger sized flat dual fiber eye one from Semi-Precious, but 242 was OK too. I still haven't busted out my 215 - I'm saving it for a special day where I can go really slow and methodically with it (plus I think I want to inaugurate it with Coffee Walnut sculpted around the eye bones). If you were hoping for more color - they aren't exactly sheer, but they're not really densely pigmented - I think the idea is for the colored under layer to sort of melt into the natural eye color, while the sheen and glitter sit on top and just sparkle and shine away. Kind of like a wet-look eye where you just put clear gloss on your lids and nothing else, but more polished.

Did you have a chance to play with the new tools? Those paddle-shaped applicators might work well. I need to order them.

i think the base colour is definitely doing the melty thing.  when i had the massive fallout on my cheekbones etc, it looked like pure sparkle, but when i went to wipe it with a tissue it looked wayyyy browner than even my skin. (but you couldn't discern the colour on my cheekbones)

i guess maybe since the flecks of glitter are silver, they're showing up more on my skin. i kind of wish they had the same base colour as deeply dashing, but with a warm toned glitter...actually, if they did a foundation using just that base colour, or a smidgen lighter version of it, it would be perfect.  i'm constantly struggling to find something that is not too ashy, not too yellow and not too orange/pink!!

Went to MAC just now to try to check out this collection. Coffee Walnut looked like crap on the back of my hand. Glad I got Richly Honed. In the MAC store only 1 pressed pigment was in the display. I didn't even pick it up to see which one it was. At the MAC counter in Dillards, I swatched one of them. I don't remember if it was Day Gleam or Beaming. Whichever one it was it was really pretty. I swirled my finger on the product about 2 or 3 times and each time I PAT the product on my hand to layer it. I'm guessing if I bought any of these this is what I should do to get it on my lid instead of swiping it. The display at this store was a mess though. Uggh.

From the Marilyn event.

Day Gleam applied with fingers

Groundwork PP over DG

Showgirl in the crease(looked better hours ago lol)

Liner/Mascara

And here comes greasy eye lol

Brush for me equals fallout. Fingers work best so far.

I applied one of the pressed pigments the other day by crushing it a bit and then spritzing with Fix+.  I then applied it with the 215 brush and it went on much easier than the finger method.

One of my favorite youtubers used Richly Honed Pro Sculpting Cream and Light Touch Pressed Pigment (as a cheek highlighter on top of Pearl CCB) in this vid.

I got Coffee Walnut and the 163 brush. When I was at the counter the MUA tried Pure Sculpture on one cheek and it looked too orange. Then she tried Coffee Walnut on the other cheek and it looked much better. This morning I used it myself the first time and I used it with the brush. I love how the brush places it exactly were I want it. I used it too blend Coffee Walnut as well, but after that I used my fingers to blend the edges even better. The MUA gave me the tip to apply my foundation after the contour and not completely over it, but just over the edges. That was a great tip, because now it looks perfectly blended! Also I was not in love yet with the colour when I saw it in store, but now I am. It looks very natural.

I skipped the 215, because it didn't seem that special. I'm statisfied with the 235.

The pressed pigments were not my thing. The glitter would go everywere. I'm sure you can make it work if you want, but I don't want to deal with it, because the colours also didn't do much for me.

Curious question, those of you who are NC45 and darker, what are you using for the highlight cream?

i got Pure Sculpture and i feel like it may be too ashy? what are some other alternatives that may work? i almost got copper walnut or copper beach whatever it is called but i thought it may be too dark...one of those are too grey....arggg

If you have more than one you can try mixing it or mix it with your foundation until it is about 2 shades lighter than the foundation/your skin.
