MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013) - Page 72

I think the official launch date is on the 7th or 14th.

I don't live in the US at this moment and same collections are usually released around 2~3 weeks later compared to the US launch date.

Besides, Shop/Cook Mac came out on the 7th in the US and on the 21st last year here!

My preliminary wishlist is 3 lipsticks and one pearlmatte so far, but that's not enough for me!

I am feeling Ronnie's more than Betty's although I like her blush better.  Team Ronnie appears to be more cool tones, so I am guessing my haul will lean heavily on her side.  I think I will want both Pearlmattes, unless they are dupes for the Vera ones (see, needing swatches to make that decision!)

(But I am pretty sure I will get Betty pigments, usually those don't sell out as quickly as the lippies, so if I am caught napping instead of stalking, perhaps I have a chance at those.  But, again, I need swatches to tell if the blackened ones are different from the TT ones...

I am really hoping for a swatch of Ronnie Red before the launch, because it is the lippy I am most interested in and on the fence about.  Yeah, I got redded out like the rest of us, but if that lippy has enuff yellow or brown in it to keep it from going pink on me, I am on it.  So I need either color story or someone to leak the finish of these lippies and some swatches.

It's starting to sound like this will be similar to the Glamourdaze event, which also lasted an entire weekend, had multiple models, and happened on several different weekends around the country.  The warning that this event is going to be chaos is looking more and more accurate by the day!

My two friends who work for MAC said it will be in the regular MAC stores on the 7th. And it will launch in the other stores (macys, belk, nordstrom, etc) on the 14th. Hope this helps.

I'm still starting my stalking around the 31st. I don't trust MAC and their information since it's all over the place. Now, if we can only have the color story already. I'm thinking two or three lippies, the purple quad and one of the powders. I want to save a little money for future collections.

Since this is coming to Macy's I am hoping to preorder.  This will alleviate having to stalk the site.  Not sure there is anything I will have a conniption if I miss out on, but there are some things it would be nice to have.

I was thinking I would do the same thing. Do you know if Macys will let you pre-order with a store gift card? When I have pre-ordered in the past, I had to pay up front. No problem for me, but I do have a Macys GC that I'd like to use.

I would think so but I have never done that.  But gift card should be same as cash...

Thank you bluelitzer! I've been dying to get Indian Ink for awhile now. I know it's perm, but... I am definitely getting the quad now. I need to check to see if I have the other shades in my collection tho.

i know right...sheesh we're almost done wit Jan n still no color story!! it's funny how everyone is goin back n forth with the dates its suppose to be launch, online n the parties hahaha!! im like umm  cuz regardless when it comes out my wishlist shall await me til i pick it up lol. i dnt do the events cuz i dont like crowded space when shoppin n swatchin makeup!! i cant see how laydeez do it with so much commotion n frenzy goin on, it would definitely cloud my judgement cuz i'd feel under pressure to snatch it before its gone! while everyone is losin sleep n stalkn the sites i'll be sound asleep  and then i can use other swatches from others to confirm my list lol. so far now i wanna see what the 2 reds are and MAYBE the quad. i haven't had much luck lately w/their shadow palettes n etc. so i've just been collectin their vintage shades n goin to other brands for palettes i KNOW i can count on (i.e. UD)...im still excited tho' cuz i feed off of everyone elses hype of collections...and im assuming we'll be hit with another one like riiiiiight after this archie one

Indian Ink is awesome as an outer v color.

Edited -- Sorry If I caused confusion. Those colors are NOT in the Veronica quad. I just observed they look similar to those colors I have already that are perm.

oh those colors i mentioned are not in the veronica quad. they're perm colors that look similar to the ones in the quad as they appear on my screen that are in my stash.  my apologies.

This collection is still not doing much for me, but it's doing more than it was originally.

I'll probably skip the purple quad, although it was at first the only thing i wanted.

Now i'm interested in

Boyfriend Stealer lipstick

and

whichever Pearlmatte is lighter and cooler.

Glad it'll be a small haul, since there are so many other collections coming out this spring!

So far my only interest is in the lippies, but I'd like to know the names before I contact my SA. I was on team Veronica, but I'm getting curious about Betty. I wish the color story would come out today.
