MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013) - Page 19

I love love love the powder with the hearts, I've actually wanted the Physician's Formula ones for a while now, so these will be a great alternative. I've never read Archie's comics but for some reason I'm beyond excited for this collection, it is just too cute! (plus I really hope it comes out on Valentine's Day like I suspect it does, it's on a Thursday this year and it fits the theme of this collection perfectly!)

Kind of OT, but since this was being discussed on this thread a while ago...

I was under the impression that Monaco Blue was going to be the color of 2013, but I'm reading reports today that it's actually going to be Emerald?  Anyone else hear about this?  Maybe my wish came true!!!  Keeping my eyes open for lots of beautiful emeralds next year!   cheerleader.gif

I am happy to hear that Emerald will be the color for 2013! That is the reason why I have been on a green kick lately.

Go Team Violet!

I actually had a matte pressed face powder in lavender - in a white mirrored compact - in the late 1960s. I don't recall the brand, something European, i think. I'm still looking for it. I'm sure it's lurking somewhere. Of course, a lot of powders - face, eye - in the 60s and early 70s were very talc-y / chalk-y, so it might be less exciting now.

When we were performing in LA last spring, i actually made a side trip to the stand-alone MUFE store to buy their Super Matte Loose Powder in 08 Lavender. It's one of my favorite face finishers. It's matte but sheer so it doesn't make me look too dull. But definitely something for pale faces only.

A MAC BP in mauve or lavender with a hint of shimmer would be really lovely... Sigh...

MAC phased out their lilac set powder two years ago. I stocked up on it as I figured it won't come back any time soon, but you can still find it in CCO's. I love it!

Shu Uemura used to have something like this - not sure if they still do, but you could investigate it!

Their standard loose powder was always some of the best you could get.

T. LeClerc (the brand still seems to exist) also has these colored loose powders (yellow, green, pink/lilac). The latter one is described as:

http://www.t-leclerc.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=7&products_id=4

Orchidée

Pink veil. Magically erases signs of fatigue; a real life-saver for evening makeup. It immediately freshens up medium to dark complexion with yellow undertones. The number one choice for Indian skins.

I used to have the yellow one in the '80s.

Bobbi Brown will have different shades of a loose correcting powder next spring. I saw pics, but don't remember where. I think there was white, pink, yellow, orange, etc.

ETA: here's a pic
