MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013) - Page 4

I've been wanting my daughter to try the Clarisonic but she just won't do it. She does absolutely nothing to take care of her skin. Pores clogged like nobody's business. Sounds like she's warming up to the idea and when she does decide to give it a try, I'm going to let her use mine. I have a brand new brush for her so we can just switch brushes. I'm just waiting for her to say when. If she likes it and it helps her, then I'll buy one for her so she can have it when she decides to move out.

My daughter's acne started at 11 and it just starting calming down in the last year. She's been down the prescription topicals path, 18 months on antibiotics path, and nothing helped. Believe it or not, I got her Clinique's Acne line last Christmas and it made a HUGE difference in her skin.

Her skin is much better now at almost 18, but it isn't smooth. Luckily she doesn't have scarring, but she has those little hard bumps all over. I think the Clarisonic would help exfoliate those away over time and do a better job at really cleaning her face.

OH YES!!!  I am going to be spending more $$$ than I planned.  The 2 Veronica glosses and the 2 pigments for sure up here.  What if that pigment is Burnt Burgundy or something close to it.  That would be a great gift from MAC if it is.  I have a sample of BB but missed out on it in full size  when it was DC'd)   Special packaging would make it even better.

I'll take one of the quads for sure with out really seeing the colors of them all, I like the design of the packaging.

Check QVC too.  They have had good deals on the Mia 2.

That sounds great. Is she still using the Clinique Acne line? Prob with mine is she doesn't stick to any kind of regimen long enough for anything to work. She doesn't really have zits/pimples but I can clearly see clogged pores. I keep telling her that I should NOT be able to see that the way that I do. I'm hoping the way the Clarisonic moves it'll just suck that stuff out of there. LOL.

We might have to take this skincare talk to the skincare forum. girlhaha.gif I feel like I'm thread jacking.

                             3 glosses

                             2 piggies

                             2-3 lipsticks

from the pic that commandolando posted im thinking that there might be 4 glosses just because why would they give veronica 2 glosses and betty 1?

well, it's off topic but I can say you my experience. I also have had a really bad acne.. it started when I was 11 and well now that I'm 24 my skin it's fine but not perfect at all! I'm lucky I don't have any scars, but I have large pores and some dark spots..  I really felt bad with myself when I was younger. It's really important to treat our skin every single day with scrub, cleanser, moisturizer, products for acne.  what really worked for me were LUSH products (herbalism, vanishing cream, grease lighting...).. I also had to take strong medicines  (here it is called Ruacutan) which I took for 4 months and a lot of the worst acne on me disappeared .. now I also use hormone based contraceptive.. also hormones work against acne but my advice is to use natural and good products everyday and eat healthy food.. aways clean makeup brushes and keep the skin as clean as possible!

Are you a Sephora VIB? They should be having their 20% off sale sometime in late Oct/early Nov.

That's good to know, thanks. On that note, I'll stop with the thread hijack. Sorry!

iagree.gif Not a fan of lipglass. More purple everything, but lipglass I say!

First off, Instagram has to be the worst thing that has happened to cosmetic photography!  As if it isn't hard enough to capture true colours by photo lol.  Anyways....it is hard to tell for sure from that photo, but the pink on the left looks almost like All Girl pigment (colour filters considered).

i always wondered why they put filters on pictures like these. People want to see the true colors! lol

but i guess beggars cant be choosers. im glad to even see at least a filtered product lmao

I wish I had more of a connection to the comics; I think I'd be a little more excited about it if I did. I mean, Wonder Woman got me into mac...I went in for the packaging and fell in love with the products. The packaging for these are super cute, though.

I thought the pigment looked like kitchmas, all girl would make more sense!

I think since this is a comic collection like WW was we will see products like the ones in WW

4 lipsticks, 4 glosses
3 quads. (I'm wont get spoiled rich cause I have the shop drop quad, they look similar)
2 pigments, 2 glitters or 4 pigments... 4 products in that type of packaging
2 polishes
2 blush duos in compacts. Or 2 Beauty Powders. I would like a double sided mirror though.
I'm sure some type of eyeliner and mascara
Tote bag
Tee shirt
Brush bags? Hmmmm I wonder...

I HOPE there is a comic book mailer like the one I received for the WW launch

There's nothing I want for myself; I like the packaging but it feels too kid like for me to want it. I might even break my own 'no makeup other than Lip Smackers type products' rule for my 11 year old for this collection. She's been begging for a MAC l/g for ages (more than willing to spend her own money for it) and I've not let her because she's just too young to wade into this space. $2 near clear gloss at Claires? Sure. $20 gloss at MAC? Not until you're in high school.

There's a light gloss with Betty on it; I could see myself buying that for her as a special treat. Her bday is also right around the launch and she adores those characters.

What a treat! She's going to give you the hugest hug -- or I would, if you were my Mommy :D

New piggies! We are so due for new ones. White packaging again...I get that it suits the theme but man. Good thing I'm not much of a packaging person (the holiday packaging is reeling me in though!). I've never really been into BnV, but am excited for those that love them :)

Looooooooooooove the pigment love.gif

I am loving the look of that pink pigment, and that pic of the quad has brought me around.

Hopefully we see a colour story soon! I am looking forward to seeing that alot now after seeing these sneak peaks
