1000 Years - It's not a dupe of MAC Stone. It's actually more grey than Stone. Stone is more of a taupe grey. Grey Friday looked more like the promo image with this pencil.

Latte - A metallic taupe color. It makes Grey Friday look more metallic.

Sweet Bean - A metallic purple taupe. It gives Grey Friday a purple tint.

Thank you! I've been wondering how close they are for ages. Is 1000 Years also darker than Stone? Or do they only differ in tone?

I'd say they differ in tone. I'll take pics once I have enough light.

That would be wonderful, thank you! I'm probably going to get Stone, but I haven't quite decided how many yet. I'd better make up my mind before they disappear completely lol. I have a feeling Stone may also work with Riveting.

For anyone curious, here's how Grey Friday looks on top of MUFE Rouge Art Intense #15 lined with MAC Magenta lip pencil.

It's a unique lip pencil in my opinion and I haven't found anything close to it except one from NYX that I've seen swatched here before (sorry, I do not remember the name). Magenta is not plain, but it has this duo-chrome-ish look to it which is pretty even on its own. If you wear bright colors like Candy Yum-Yum, Girl About Town, OCC Anime, Magenta is a good paired with those colors. The only thing I have a love/hate relationship with this lip pencil is it stains even after I've removed it with make-up remover. It's a positive or negative for everyone depending if you enjoy that staining effect it leaves.

Have you tried one of those oil based makeup removers or the ones that have two layers and need to be shaken before use? For me those work to remove bright lipcolours, but you do have to rub over your lips quite a bit. I also just use a very inexpensive one of around €2 and it still works. I recently got Magenta and it's very lovely. It's a bit too purple for my taste to use with CYY, Pink Pigeon and the like, but I like it for Petals & Peacocks, Outrageously Fun and even Heroine.

Ow and I love the combo you did with Grey Friday!

Thank you Pinkdollface and everyone! bigstar.gif

I haven't tried it with a make-up remover that comes in two layers, but I have tried removing it with the Almay eye make-up removers that's oil based. It seems to break down the color faster than a regular make-up wipe.

Depending on my mood too, I like to mix up the color, but whenever I use Candy Yum-Yum or OCC Anime and I still want that pink to remain I like using the Process Magenta Chromagraphic pencil from MAC.

I'm not crazy about Purple Rain's application though. It doesn't seem to apply as smoothly and evenly as my other NYX liners (it's still a good liner, just not as good as the rest). Perhaps it's because of the finish. Or maybe I got a dud 001_unsure.gif

Thanks for your list!

I was in an ULTA recently and picked up the last Black Berry on your recommendation - haven't tried it with Grey Friday yet. ULTA doesn't carry all colors, as you've said, so no 1000 Years. And all the other colors were so picked over, they had maybe half of the colors they had slots for, if that. I almost picked up Purple Rain because it looked like a light cool violet - but i read in another thread that it's close to MAC Magenta on, which surprised me, since it looked metallic light violet in the stick. Sigh.

I did find out that an ULTA will be opening not far from where i actually live early next year. But i wish i could find some store that carries all 60 NYX slim lip pencils so i could see them i person.

Makeup wipes are nice for face and eye makeup and lighter lipcolours, but indeed they don't work as well for bright lipcolours.

I should experiment more changing up the lipstick with a lipliner. It just is so much easier to take something that's the same colour and not have to worry about it blending in well. Process Magenta looks very nice as well, but I already have Embrace Me (+3 BU's) so I think I'm good tong.gif I'll keep it in mind if I ever happen to run out of EM.

Here are the lip pencil comparison swatches. Latte and Sweet Bean are pearlized. I'm not sure if the difference between Stone and 1000 Years is coming across in the picture. Stone looks more taupe in person. It seems like a matte version of Sweet Bean when I look at the colors on my hand.

Thank you so much for this! The difference between 1000 Years and Stone is quite obvious, so I'm glad a lovely Specktrette is CPing me two flower.gif

Try checking a local beauty supply store to see if they carry NYX products. I really wish Ulta would incorporate testers. I think it would cut down drastically on all of the picked over makeup, and would probably save them more money in the long run. I have 40 of the 60 pencils. icon_eek.gif  I bought them all over time in person between my beauty supply store and Ulta. I couldn't swatch any of them before purchase. Some of them are a hair lighter or darker from each other, others look different from what I expected based on the color reference on the pencil. I'll probably end up getting the remaining 20. I like the variety and they remind me of colored pencils.

I found myself thinking if I got NYX Sweet Bean liner and used it all over the lip, then topped it with a dazzleglass like, say, Via Venetto, would I really need to knock myself out to find a Grey Friday lippy?  (which I slept through and missed)

Here is a review on the nail polish on temptalia.com:

My two lip combos for this color:

Currant liner to line then smudge out, Grey Friday all over, Fascinating eye pencil smudged on the bottom center.

Grey Utility eye pencil to line then smudge out, Grey Friday all over, Fascinating eye pencil smudged on the bottom center.

The grey utility eye liner is awesome! It helps the sheer-ness and also lasts so long! I get so many compliments.

Side note: I'm not a huge fan of the shimmer on this product BUT I like it because it's a great building color to transform any lip to that vampy look. It's awesome! heart2.gif

Thanks, I am about to go snatch these up!!!
