Thank you, Detective Naynadine! You always come thru for us. I LOVE that purple pressed pigment. I wonder if that is the Amethyst one? That has been added to my list.punk_.gif Out of curiousity. I'm sure this has been asked & answered many times, so I apologize. Can pressed pigments be used for blush, shadow as well as all around shimmer? Or am I getting confused with something else? wacko.gif

Yes, that's what it says under the pic :)

I guess in theory you can use them wherever you want.

OK, i'm posting this question here, because this forum is still alive and this is peripherally related...

Has anyone compared in person the MAC 163 brush ($35) that came out in Sept. with the Face & Body collection -- which had 6 pressed pigments, all of which are still on the US website -- with the very similar but much cheaper Sonia Kashuk Flat Top Sculpting Brush ($13) for contouring? I'm willing to spend more for significant quality difference, but if the difference is slight, well, i can use that extra $22 for more MAC makeup th_rolleye0014.gif

Back On Topic:

As for the pressed pigments, i'm not jumping up and down yet, but that Polish photo - the models with the pink and the amethyst eye shadows - made me want that pink shadow. I'm not worried about how i look in pink e/s because no one is going to mistake me for an angora rabbit...nocomment.gif

Okay, I LOL'd at that because I have that issue too with pinks

Found this in this month's Allure magazine. Blonde streak pressed pigment on the far right.

thanks for sharing!! i need blonde streak.

My MA said these were quite sheer, great for a wash.  She is a fan of COLOUR and lots of it.

She suggested using a mixing medium if I wanted them to appear darker. I think I may skip.

Sorry if this has been said but are these all regular pigments pressed?

They are new pigements, like the ones from face and body but with some colours in this collection

Ohh good!! Thank you
They should be gorgeous

From anyone who used the first ones did you find them to crease?! Q
post #201 of 462

I only used it as highlighter, so it obviously didn't crease on me. :)

Wait, when is this coming out?  I don't want to miss it.  Are these LE or Perm.  Honestly, I tried to scan the thread but I have ADHD for sure.  MAC is bringing so many collections so fast I stay confused.

They're already listed on the austrian Douglas site as coming soon, release date for Germany is Dec 27 I think. I don't know about the US release date.

As far as I now they will be perm.

OK, since i'm really using up the ONLY thing i wanted from the Marilyn collection, Preferred Blonde e/s, can anyone tell if Blonde Streak pressed pigment is similar? Or does anyone know of a dupe for Preferred Blonde?

Edit To Add:

I checked out Temptalia who seemed to think Preferred Blonde looked pretty much like two of the others, How to Marry - a shimmery white - and Silver Screen - a frosty silver. But on me they looked quite different. I'm much paler than she is, so perhaps the differences were more noticeable on me. Plus i have no trouble getting decent coverage and even without eye primer, i get no fall-out, and it doesn't crease.

Of her comparisons, she seemed to think MAC Vanilla was closest. I'll have to double check, but it seems to me that Preferred Blonde is more golden-beige champagne, which is why i preferred it, it was much much warmer in tone than HTM or SS.

I'm just hoping one of these new pressed pigments comes close.

i'll look through my stuff to compare w PB... i don't have a lot of pigments, but i can check other shadows for dupes.

i didn't think those three shadows looked alike. but maybe it's again a skin tone thing, because my skintone is much darker than christine's, so they probably show up different. SS definitely reads a blue tinged silver on me, while PB is kinda wheatish...and HTM closest to white...

Thankyou!

I still really like this collection, considering I skipped EDES from GD for it.

Definately want some of these coloured ones, I just have to decide which ones
