kinda off topic but does anyone remember an ancient Lancome Colour Gloss Lipstick called Gris Chintz? I think it was 1999 or 2000 when I bought it (showing my age lol) and funnily enough it still hasn't assumed the smell and consistency of toxic waste. It's a greyed lavender, and definitely not mauve (*cough* MAC *cough*). strange that a brand like Lancome released such an edgy shade back then (well, i thought it was edgy).

Every once in a while Lancome come out with an interesting shade. They put so many perservatives in their lippies they could probably survive a nuclear blast then nuclear winter, but I love them. Interesting, in my stash I have a Dior color called Mauve Fictif which is a greyed lavender, no idea if they make it still. Also, they have Flash Nior, which should be black but is actually a lovely blue toned violet. I think the French companies were a little more fashion forward in the late 90s early 2000.
Back OT, I think I like 2 of the mattenes. If the blued pink is said to be a CYY dupe, I may get all 3. I like the look of the quad, but I am stuck on not buying another quad w/Carbon in it. I recently acquired Pandamonium eyes which contains Violet Trance, the most awesomeest blue toned violet shadow I own and I think it smokes this quad. But, if the shades aren't totally chalky, I will probly cave and get it because its a purple quad dang it.
I missed that ChosenOne but thanks for the comment. I'm trying my hardest to avoid purchasing products that are close enough in color. Mac has made a ton of lipsticks described as "mid tone blue pink" so i'm pretty sure there must be some dupes out there for NB. Question is do i have any dupes for it? haha!
My dilemma exactly! I love love love bright pinks, so I almost always buy them. I probably have about a dozen different bright/bold pinks in my stash as we speak. If NB is unique among them, I'll want it, but we would have to see swatches first to determine that. Of course I'm expecting NB to be one of the first things to sell out from this collection, so if I wait for swatches, it might be too late... stop putting this pressure on us, MAC!!

Oh boo! I had not heard of Pandamonium Eye Quad before. I just googled it and now I need to have it. Those violets are to die for! I can't find it on their website. I'm hoping they will repromote sometime soon.

I remember Mauve Fictif! The other one doesn't ring a bell.
It's not just French companies that were more fashion forward back then. Helena Rubinstein had a lippie called Secret Silver which was a metallic, erm, silver. Quite dark, but not dark enough to be gunmetal. There was also a gloss which I think was called Black Magic. I tossed the lippie a few years ago because it had turned into a health hazard but I still have the gloss. I haven't visited it in a very long time, so I don't know if it's still alive.
Ah yes, back on topic - I soooo wanted Nocturnal Instincts to be a greyed lavender and not your bog standard mauve 
re: 211 brush - this is permanent, right? For some reason I can't find it on MAC's NL website but it's available at Douglas

Yup. Originally it was all 3 mattenes and the lavender blush. The quad's not been on my radar so far and I intend to keep things that way. I'm defo keeping the two darker mattenes (anything that resembles CYY, OF and Heroine is droolworthy in my book). I'm having second thoughts about Nocturnal Instincts though. Perhaps I should ditch it?
:...and get the quad instead? I haven't got too many decent navy shadows, so in that sense the palette would be a welcome addition to my collection. If Carbon hadn't sneaked in the palette I wouldn't give it a second thought. Not that I have Carbon, mind. I do have UD Perversion though, and I don't think I need another matte black.
Either way, I really need to decide quickly so that I can inform the wonderful Speckrette who is CPing the stuff for me (you know who you are

So i went to Mac @ Macy's today and the MUA opened the drawer for me to take a peek at everything. I just couldn't swatch because they have not yet received the swatch products yet. So here so far is my take on things. Again so sorry I was not able to take any pictures or swatch so i can't give very accurate details.
Mattene Lipstick
Nocturnal Instincts looks exactly like a mid tone lavender. Upon just looking at it i didn't notice any grey however this could change upon swatching and once applied to the lips. Perhaps the grey tone in it will come out. If this is the color used in the promo pic it doesnt look anything like that in the tube. It looks to be very soft, almost like Lavender Whip lipglass which i believe came out with the Spring Colour Forecast collection.
Night Blooming looks like a deeper Outrageously Fun. It also looks like the lipstick version of Revenge is Sweet. Don't know if that makes any sense lol. Sorry i'm not that great at giving detailed descriptions.
Seductive Intent did not look vivid purple to me. It seems to be a warm purple color. I could be wrong on this and perhaps swatched or on the lips will look different. I just didn't see a vivid purple color when i opened it up and saw it. Nothing like Violetta or even Heroine. Perhaps because these two colors are more of a violet plum. When i first heard the description for Seductive Intent the first colors that came to mind where Violetta and Heroine so i expected to see something relatively close to these but nope...not here. It wasn't something that I saw and thought i NEED this on my team purple. Actually it looks a bit mauve IMO.
Taste Temptations Quad: Beautiful deep dark colors. Perfect for a smokey eye. Navy blue, lilac/lavender, deep, dark purple, and the oh so famour Carbon. This is not something i need in my collection. I feel just by looking (swatching may change this) that i just may have similar enough color to skip this. Just by looking though i have a feeling this is going to have amazing color payoff. I could be wrong and this could be my having high hopes for the beauty's that really want this quad.

Revenge is Sweet: One of my all time favorite lipglasses. I first purchased this with the Venomous Villains Maleficent Collection and fell in love. It's a beautiful pink with violet color. I don't get why on the description it says vivid purple. It's not all out purple...definitely has a pink tone in there. I may post up swatches of this in case anyone who missed out on it the first time is thinking of getting it this time around.

And finally the blushes. These are must haves for all of the team purple fiends out there.
Unconventional is going to look perfect on lighter skinned beautys. It may even go well as a highlighter on medium to deeper skinned beautys. Swatches will determine this!
Passionately Tempted: A gorgeous color! This is going to look beautiful on WOC! I have high hopes for this blush and i think this one will give great color payoff. Fingers crossed!

Did i mention that when i was looking in the drawer i couldn't help but notice that they have an insane amount of each product? This should be a relief for those who are worried of items selling out...at least at some Macy's!

My MA was RAVING about these blushes. In particular, he went on about how Passionately Tempted is everything Magenta blush isn't, with a very superior texture (like the Tres Cheek ones). I always passed on Magenta, because even though I loved the color, the texture was dry and powdery at the same time - I hated it. This one will be able to be built up and stay nice and smooth and fused with your natural skin texture - CAN'T WAIT.
He also felt the lavender blush was superior to the one from Tres Cheek, which is great - I actually didn't care for that one either, the color just didn't show up on me at all.
So, yes, definitely getting both blushes. Probably will get all 3 mattenes too and maaaaaaybe RIS lg (although for some reason I didn't care for it or buy it with VV). The quad sounds nice, but I think I'm better off waiting around for the couple of colors I could really use to come around in an individual format.
This collection + Strength + Apres Chic are going to be serious haulage for me!

re: quad - I think I managed to talk myself into getting it. I have plenty of shadows to do smoky eyes but they're mostly greys, purples or taupes. it's time some navys joined the team.
the magenta blush somehow managed to make it to my wishlist too. oh dear...
at least I'm not interested in the lipglasses. if RIS couldn't tempt me in VV packaging, it doesn't stand a chance in regular packaging. the others aren't my thing anyway.

My list consists of all three mattenes, I had originally just wanted Unconvential blush because it's lavender & suppose to be so much better than FoJ. Now I want to add the magenta blush to my list also. It sounds heavenly. Going to skip the glasses and quad.
