The only reason I would have gotten this pencil is because of the discount. I cannot for the life of me pay full price for the NARS LTL pencils. I've probably got a UD dupe sitting around somewhere. Very likely since my Ocho Loco set came in yesterday. Money saved to spend on something else!

I only have three things on my list but I doubt I will get a card. I am not a super shopper but I rather do sporadic "big" purchases.

 

I only want Nars Blush, Nars Foundation and a couple of Laura Mercier tinted moisturizers.

The only thing I don't understand is that Sephora employees have a much larger discount than 20%. If their close friends/family asked I'm sure they would extend that discount to them for more savings. It just doesn't make sense... I'm so sad):

Wait, so there isn't a Friends & Family discount available to everyone any more? That means I would have to reach $350 this month to qualify for the VIB discount next month. I've only spent $16 at Sephora so far. Lol, I don't think I'm going to make it.

The Nov. 8th date that was floating around earlier is supposedly the day of the VIB 20% off sale.

Yeah, I know you need to spend $350/year to qualify for VIB status. I was saying that I would need to spend that much now in order to qualify for the VIB 20% sale next month. Spreading out that much over a year is a lot more doable, but I don't shop at Sephora too often. Ulta is closer to me and that's where I purchase my drug store brands. I do see myself switching some of my other makeup purchases over to Sephora though.

Last year, the friends and family sale was online October 20 - November 2. It looks bleak, but I haven't completely lost ALL hope (yet).

I don't think I'll make the VIB this year for the $350.

I spent $76.00 in January and this past weekend I spent $92 when I was in Toronto. So I would still need to spend $182 before January....

And yes the VIB 20% off sale is in November every year.

Usually the sale are only valid in store and not online for Canadian customers, which pisses me off to no end as I would cost me more in travel expenses to go to a store to take advantage of it. Last year VIB barcode I gave to someone else in the US to use as it was useless to me. :(

I was looking forward to the F&F sale but they are just getting ride of the 20% for everyone (it's only for employes this year) and going with the random code generator. People have been hounding their Facebook page about it (and most of the comments are being removed for asking this question.)

 I am not a fan of people deleting inoffensive comments simply because they don't agree with them. Sephora is LAME for this.

First I think they should have address the issue at least a month in advance so people would not have thought they would get the usual 20% off. That would have given people time to get use to the idea that its not happening. Instead it was a guessing game and people went and made lists and got all excited for nothing.

Second I wish they'd increase the 20% off anyway because it just doesn't seem "fair" that the VIB 20% off is the same as the regular, in my opinion. At least do 30%/20%, I mean I want to feel a little bit special that I spent too much money in your store in a year. 

So I am bummed out, I was saving for the 20%, but it does not look like its happening.... Oh well... sad face

Yea I feel you, I had my shopping list ready to go.  I wonder if they just haven't updated their site yet.  Has it been officially confirmed that the FF sale is only for employees this year?  Any Sephora employees out there have access to the sale?

If I had any information to share about a sale at Sephora, it would be on the blog front+center. :) Sephora has sent no info re: F&F to me.
