Sephora F&F OCT 2012! What's on your wish list??? - Page 4

As long Sephora keeps the 20% VIB sale in November, I'm all good. Honestly, I'm not in a rush to buy anything NOW. I would just be buying things because they were on sale, not because I need anything. The only things I'm running low on are skincare items and they will last me until November.

Poorly handeld indeed, and no spinning wheel for the Canadian site either. :(

I'm hearing that the Nov 8th date is BI/VIB customer appreciation, and BIs get 15% off and VIBs get 20% off and early access.

What a shame they're strict about the sale this time around!  On the other hand, I'm through my beauty spendings budget for this month anyways, so November VIB sale works out better for my wallet.

 

I think Sephora is going to miss out on a lot of sales now, because 10% off doesn't quite cut it...

Well I only had one thing I wanted which was the mufe hd foundation; and I kinda wanted the Cinderella palettes I love anything Disney but had to scratch everything off since its only immediate f&f and I don't know anyone that works there.......oh well money saved

I was planning to use a gift card during the F&F sale if it happened. Is it true that gift cards can't be used with the discount?

I don't think it's true. Gift cards are considered a form of payment, similar to cash or credit card. I've used gift cards with discounts, but I wouldn't be able to stack a 20% off VIB deal with a 10% from spinning the wheel (just an example).

Ooh, there's nothing like Chanel but I won't even get into that here. Nordstroms has a special edition touche eclat that I must get my hands on. They do it every year and I got one from 2011. I was hoping my local Nordstroms would have it, but they don't. I doubt Sephora will get it, so I have to order it.

What's special about the Nordstrom one, Shontay?

 

I'm actually glad that I can rely on the VIB for next month. My car had unexpected repairs of $1000 and I am in the hole because of it. I need to transfer some money around quick before my Chanel and MAC pre-orders go through.

Last year it was a sparkly highlighter. This year, it's a different shade (and a pretty little package). I would like to see some swatches first, though if I can't see it in person.

ETA: nevermind. I see that it's actually two existing shades, but new packaging. Well, that's bummer since they usually do something different. Perhaps they'll put out a new one later(?). I'll look up swatches for those 2 existing shades, but I don't think it'll work for me. Bummer.

I don't pay attention to the lighter shades, so when I saw an unfamiliar name and the new packaging, I thought it was something new. Too bad. I'm not paying for the same thing in a different package.

I placed a Sephora order through amazon.com Wednesday and I should be getting it today. I got an Anastasia tinted brow gel ( I love the clear one, so why not), a Nars larger than life gloss (my first. let's see if I can deal with that tiny brush) and a MUFE loose powder shadow. I'm most excited about that MUFE shadow. It looks like a star powder, but they call it holodium or something like that. It looks funky and cool. I'm not waiting for that VIB. This is pretty much the only stuff I wanted. Sephora is just pissing me off with this VIB/F&F business.

 

ITA!  Sephora should have a F&F event similar to Urban Decay.  Just for a short time but open to everyone. 

 

I am a VIB, but I don't think that I will be getting anything during the VIB event in November. This is primarily b/c I want several products from the Guerlain holiday collection.  By November, my guess is that a lot of it will be gone.

Hi all! There are several Sephora employees on Twitter who are offering to send people codes. If you search 'Sephora code' you can find them. I did this a couple of hours ago and recieved a code within minutes. 30 minutes later I became a VIB member (oops :))

I had a BU of my Coco Mademoiselle and decided it return it. I asked for a gift card so I could get some stuff during the sale. Now I am stuck with the gift card. I am so annoyed.

I did a search but came up empty handed? Any tips?

Thanks for doing this. I have tried them all and they all say "sorry, this promotion code is not available for usage" Oh, well didn't need to spend the money anyway, LOL!

 

I thought about this too.  Then I called around to several dept stores where I live (NM, Bloomies, Nordstrom, etc), and all of them are practically sold out of the collection.  So I panicked & ordered.  Yes I don't save 20%, but then I also avoid ebay later on.  I may be kicking myself in November, but it is too late now.

 

I am also not a fan of game playing by companies/store and secretive sales. This type of thing turned me off to MAC recently - with their middle of the night release of the MM collection and the fiasco that ensued.  I appreciate the VIB perks that I get with Sephora, but I still think that the F & F sales should be open to everyone.

I was able to get one and placed an order for a Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer I badly needed. Just for fun, I ordered the Cinderella lippies too. I am so excited!! haha.

hoping you can get a code from a worker in twitter is completly wrong.  sephora. they are the stupid ones that are missing lots of money. the only thing i really needed was the clarisonic. and other retailers have it. 

I just ordered a Clarisonic Mia from dermstore.com (used a 20% off code) for $93, plus they have a magazine rebate thingy (they include 3 free 1-year subscriptions with your order) for an extra $40 off.  The final cost will be around $50 for me.  Much better than just using a Sephora coupon lol

I ordered clarisonic brush heads and NARS eyeshadow primer.  Nothing fun to play with :(.  Also when you use a code it shows up as "employee appreciation"

It is a shame that Sephora did this to the customers. It's like a slap in the face to say that it's for the "family and friends" of the people that work for them and not for the general public. Don't they realize that by doing this they are losing lots of customers whom spend $1000 of dollars if not more? I don't mind too much because the VIB sale is next month and I'm broke right now but it does concern me that they would this to all the others. We bring so much money into this company and they royally screwed us by pulling the rug from underneath us. That's just cold. I was planning on getting a few things but since I have no money I'll wait till next month. Hopefully then I can get those things. But it really is messed up that they would do this to the public because it's like telling us that we don't count as friends to them. 

Sephora could have handled the info release on this MUCH BETTER!  They rarely offer sales, so people wait all year to stock up during these events that they've had regularly in the past.  Baiting us with that gimmicky wheel and then leaving us hanging with no "official" info until VERY late in the game is inexcusable! TOO many online retailers offer discounts (SkinStore, ULTA, Tarte, UD, Drugstore, Dermstore, etc.) for Sephora to be playing these types of games.  I have been a VIB for YEARS... it was NOTHING for me to reach the price spent mark each year to acquire it... but this year I doubt I'll hit that mark since my money goes to other retailers that give me better incentives and discounts on the EXACT same products throughout the year!  I don't think anyone would've been extremely upset if Sephora had just released the info sooner and not in some quiet, last-minute way.  It's almost as if they KNOW how upset their customers would be over this!  The bottom line is... WHY SEPHORA?  If you want your customers to be loyal to you, you have to be loyal to them!
