i want fireside now too. shades of u has a video of the collection and in her swatch you can see how duo chrome it is, like redish plum and green.

Fireside is one where I think the veining does matter - the tester I used originally had lots of the blue/green/grey color and it gave me a Club-like duochrome like you're describing.
I wanted one that leaned more plum so I picked one with less blue - it's got less obvious duochrome, but it has enough, and it gives me the deeper color I wanted. I figured at some point, the color distribution in the pan will shift around and I'll have more duochrome anyhow. I love the crushed metal one that came out in that green holiday set, which is like Club on steroids, so I'm happy with my plummy Fireside! I think I'll use them together in a look.

Thank you.
I plan to order Amber Glow, Haute Attitude, Ice MES and the eye brush. I'm also getting a CP from the US for Stereo Rose, both Strength blushes and Nocturnal Instincts.
I'd love to get a lot more from Apres Chic, but I'm low on funds. I'm still debating on getting Silver Birch MES.
And then there's the Chanel spring collection coming out, too...
Amazing choices Nayadine! Too little time between collections and too little $$$. I just ordered from the Chanel spring collex...should arrive by the end of the week...and then yet another collex from MAC on the horizon. I share your sentiments....

I'm going to have to break mine out!

I was attracted to the colors, especial the burgundy & green. Can't get enough of it. Your experience with Fireside helped push me over the must-have cliff.
I think it will be beautiful over other brown or burgundy eye shadows. I really like the color.

Ugh, sorry ladies…I tried. By the time I replaced the batteries in the camera (you see how often I use it), the sun went away again and I couldn't get anything approaching actual color with the flash. It's such a crap camera too - I don't know why I bother struggling with it - even an iPhone camera is better nowadays than this old junk (and I don't have an iPhone).
With flash, the no makeup photos looked almost the same as the Amber Glow/Alpine Bronze + Warm Companion photos (which I guess is a good thing for real life, eh?).
JUST GO TO A STORE AND TRY

do you wear alpine bronze and amber glow together?

I tried to take a photo today but my crappy camera can't capture it well with the flash. On me it's very subtle and natural. Alpine Bronze adds warmth along the contour of the cheekbones and Amber Glow smooths and adds glow over the rest of the cheek - I'm NC15. I can't always wear light blushes like Amber Glow because they're often too powdery, but AG isn't powdery and just fuses with my skin very well, like a lot of the newer MBs.

Since you asked, I went and gave it a try with Frost at Midnight. Nope, the applicator isn't as good as a brush - the product is too dry in the pan to pick enough up. A plain old 239 was much better.
I think the applicators are better for these products with an emollient or oily base, like the PPs, CMPs, etc.
Yes, you are right. I tried it out too this morning (it's Monday here already) and it picked up only a little colour. I think I might try it once again with the glitter bomb Shimmermint, if it helps to prevent the fall out.

It's sort of resolved. I decided to just buy Cozy Up at the mall yesterday. I wasn't sure if I'd like the color and it would be much easier for me to return it to the store if I didn't like it instead of having to ship it back to MAC. I called to request a refund and was told I needed to wait 7 business days to make sure the lipstick wasn't shipped separately by mistake. I have to call back Wednesday to request my refund.
While I was at the mall, I also picked up Fireside MES, Warm Companion lipstick and an Apres Chic BU. I wanted to get a Hot Chocolate BU, but the stores were sold out. Thank goodness I ordered one online last night since Hot Chocolate is sold out now. The 205 brush also ended up in my cart.
I like Cozy Up. It's definitely a peach nude on me. I like it a lot better than Peachstock because it's darker and more peach. I barely wear Peachstock because I have to baby it too much. Cozy Up falls in the middle of Peachstock and Spice for me. I forgot how much I love Spice lipstick. I'm so glad that I have a BU for it. However, I don't feel the need to get a BU for Cozy Up.
I'm not sure how I feel about Warm Companion. I may return it. I agree that it's like a frost Cusp of Dawn. I think I'm not a fan of frost lipsticks in general, although I love Ruffian Gold and Grey Friday. I'm going to play with it some more before returning it. I saw someone mention that they applied it to the center of their lips like a highlight. I'll give that a try.
I didn't pay attention to the veining of my Fireside. I took whatever the MUA gave me when I was at the register. I'll see if I can get pics later. The tester I swatched appeared like a plum brown on me. I don't know if the one I bought will look the same way.
Ice and Silver Birch MES are the only things I have left to get from this collection. But I swatched them again yesterday, and they both look very similar on my skin. Now I'm not sure I need to get both. Do any of you think they're very similar?

Just got back from the MAC counter with my haul!
I B2M-ed for Apres Chic and Haute Altitude, and will probably pick up Hot Chocolate when it goes on Debenhams.
I had an £18 gift voucher and £15 worth of points, so I also picked up 3 of the MES - Ice, Silver Birch and Fireside. I really liked the dark blue-y purple one too (can't remember the name!) so I'm going to grab that online too :)
So, I got 5 things in the end for just £16.50! I'm very happy
And the MA gave me very generous samples of the new BB cream in Extra Light as well as Studio Fix in NW10! I can't wait to try them!
Did anyone get the duofibre eye brush? I'm not sure I need it since I'm pretty sorted on MES application with the 235

That' a great haul and some savvy shopping you did there! I got the 287 brush, but haven't used it yet. I didn't want to miss it if it turns out to be something great.

I've bought almost every new MAC brush that's come out in the past 2 years, and there's only been one that I've regretted (the 234 - I have no clue what to use it for!)
I'll think about it...

Did you try Fireside at the counter? How does it look on your skin tone?More brown/plum/green?

Congrats on the all but free haul - those are my favourite kind! I got some gift cards for Christmas and my birthday and feel the same way about spending those. I know someone else paid for them but I didn't feel bad about treating myself to a duplicate 167SH and the 224 I've been considering for awhile or picking up the Dynamic Duo 3 that I passed on this past spring with my Christmas gift cards. I also sorted through my makeup drawer and passed on a few things I'm really not using to my eldest daughter. I don't feel bad about having wasted money because she'll use them and it keeps my collection to a manageable (if robust) size.
I ordered the brush, but I haven't received it yet. For some reason, MAC split my order into two and shipped them separately; I think they received some of the items before the holidays but didn't receive the others until Dec. 27th. I was hoping I'd receive my other box today, but I'm not sure UPS is out again until Wednesday.
I didn't get the 235, so I didn't want to miss this one. I'll still pick up the 235 if I ever find it - I love the other brushes from that collection.
Same. I've bought quite a few brushes this year but I still feel like there's room for more (unlike my makeup which is really at max right now).
