I'm the other way around. My everyday colours are brights and I need everyone of them

I dropped my SR yesterday.  The product didn't break put a piece fell out of the compact.  The compact still closes snuggly but I couldn't get the piece back in w/o taking the entire compact apart. I just left well enough alone.

 

I am so trying to get beyond that and have some fun with color...you know, live a little & such!!!  I'm working on it!

Not only does it appeal to a lot of people, but when you think about how really strong or pastel colors have been pushed for a few years now, a soft color like AC is "new" again. A few years ago, people might have thought "Grandma Color" about it, but fashion is what it is! 

The mineralize lip balm give me 0 color. But still I bought two of the same- pure and tender because it feels good on the lips not sticky. I chose the colors that looked pretty in the tube due to the non color pay off. I like the coral looking one too but passes as I have so many lippies that color. Oh!the deeper plum shade did yield a slight tint....

I got Amber Glow in the mail today. It's gorgeous! It doesn't add a lot of color to me.. but really, just a glow  It's so pretty. Glad I got it.

Don't forget about your nails PrettyGirlDoc.  Butter London's 'TOFF' nail polish is gorgeous with Hot Chocolate.  BTW, that too is a recommendation from CC!

Amber Glow is very gentle - like invisible on the face, but  face beaming thanks to him; my precious 

I really like Amber Glow. It's almost invisible--someone here described it as a the perfect "no makeup" blush (for warm light skin tones). It adds some glow, but not as much as a mineralized skin finish. Very natural, healthy-looking and pretty if you have the coloring to work with.

I don't have Obscura, but I do have another shadow that WP looks beautiful with!  Wore WP on the lid with Antiqued in the crease the other day and fell head over heels in love.  Some Sunbasque blush with Whisper of Gilt to highlight on the cheeks, Morning Coffee PLW liner all over the lip with Power Supply plushglass on top, and I found a new look to add to my favorites list! 

 

And anything short of a full fledged military intervention won't put it straight!

Dang, you guys, reading this thread keeps resurrecting my Amber Glow lemming--pleaze stop nao.

 

Is there a lipliner that will make my Hot Chocolate less mauve and more chocolicious (brown).  My natural lip color is light, rosy pink...

Yep, that's how I'm feeling too. Ah well.

Probably was me - you can get an entire face of perfect no-makeup style with this collection. I love it and I'm not always a fan of that look - I guess I just never had products that totally did it for me like the ones in Apres Chic.

 

It turns up pretty brown on me and Dervish is almost a perfect match with my lip color, so maybe that one would work? A lot of the Pro Longwear lip pencils run really brown too - Absolutely It makes a lot of lipsticks I have run browner (it's also very close to my lip color) and that's not the only brownish one.

Long ago (1970s & 80s) most mascaras made my eyes burn - i could only wear Clinique. Now it seems the ingredients are no longer so irritating. I always figured the hype over some expensive mascaras was just hype. But sephora had DiorShow Mitzah on a special sale, and now i'm sold on it. Threw away my Clinique mascaras.

 

Dervish is more of a pinky-mauve.  Perhaps a brown liner like Cork or 80% would give you that "chocolicious" look you're going for?

 

 

I don't work in a normal office, so i can usually wear whatever i want, blue violet, teal, frosted forest green, to hang out at the local café. But, for example, when i'm meeting a client, especially for the first time, i'll wear a sensible "normal" color. I want them to think i'm competent, not wacky. I consider Hot Chocolate and Double Shot to fall into that "safe" range, along with warm pinks and pinky peaches. I don't wear red, orange, or bright/hot pink in any circumstance, because i look terrible in them.

 

But i know many people have to conform to some standards in their place of work, where safe or "normal" colors are de rigueur. So, i say, crack out the fun colors when you're not there!

 

 

All of the nail polish fumes made us a bit loopy and haul happy.

 

 

 

I'm just going to put this out there. NYX has brown lip pencils called Chocolate, Cocoa, and Hot Cocoa.

The thing is…..if HC looks brown on my lips with no liner, and my lips are the same color as Dervish, it seems like if you'd use Dervish, you'd wind up with the same color.

 

If you use a brown liner, you may not necessarily make a weird color like HC turn brown - especially a cool brown, like I think she may be talking about - 'could give it an orangey cast and just make it look muddy.
