Toronto Eaton Centre Sephora - new location and more brands!

Hello everyone!

I just visited the new location for the Eaton Centre Sephora and was totally blown away.  The store is huge!  I was totally overwhelmed and didn't know where to look first.

They are now carrying more brands including (these are the only ones I can remember at the moment):

  • Giorgio Armani (cosmetics)
  • Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (all the lip tars!)
  • Illamasqua
  • Becca
  • Jin Soon nail polishes

There's a huge corner devoted to just Make Up For Ever and beauty studio rooms near the back of the store where I think you can get private make up application or lessons (only guessing).

I feel like the store has much better lighting.  The brand displays are much nicer/cleaner and there are fancy new mirrors with different lighting levels.  There doesn't seem to be much more room between the displays, which is a pain since it's hard not to block everything when trying to get a product on a bottom shelf.

I ended up with more OCC lip tars (Black Dahlia will be my go to lip for fall through winter I think) and 2 eyeliners from Illamasqua (Havoc and Glister).  My wishlist has gotten much longer...  My lunch breaks are going to be an exercise in self-restraint I think.

Just wanted to share my excitement.  :)

I'm so jealous!!! I wish that they'd include these brands in their other Canadian stores as well. The flagship downtown Montreal store has OCC and Ellis Faas, which is normally on line only, but it isn't really big enough to accommodate too many more. I would especially love to have another venue to buy Armani! I'm fine going to Holt's, but it's hours aren't as convenient as Sephora's.

SOUNDS WONDERFUL!!

I'm surprised they had Black Dahlia as it sold out in stock at the OCC main warehouse (and thus why I could not get it at IMATS Toronto last weekend :( )

Ddi they literally move to the other side? lol

And yes their is a Make Up For Ever boutique they set these up in other major cities.... It just means the eaton centre location is going to get more crazy (always packed)

I finally got a good look at the Armani cosmetics section.  All the tester products are nicely displayed but I kept wondering where they actually kept items for purchase...  Like there's a hidden drawer system I don't know how to use.  I also noticed a Shu Uemura display and drooled over the lipsticks and eyelashes.  It seems that there is a "high-end" corner with Shu, Armani, YSL, Dior, Hourglass, Givenchy and Guerlain grouped together.

I recommend a visit to the store, maybe before more crowds come in and make it all disheveled.  LOL  I can't imagine how much upkeep/cleaning the staff have to do.  So many people get sloppy with testers, it's a shame.

They almost all of the colours they'll be carrying in stock when I went in on Tuesday, but quite a few shades were out of action when I went in today (Black Dahlia being one of them).  There also seems to be a spot for Nylon *gasp*.  I'm hoping it shows up so I can snag one.

Yup, the store is basically across the way, in the old Harry Rosen spot...  I think that's what used to be there....  LOL

It was pretty nuts there today, though the cashier line went pretty quickly.  I really wish they would put more space between product displays.  There was a lady who parked her stroller (with child) right infront of the Illamasqua stuff while she tried out blushes.  There was barely enough room to get past the stroller.  I was a bit annoyed since I wanted to check out Skin Base foundation and cream pigments but it's not like there was room for the stroller anywhere else.  I think she's lucky that her child didn't get into any of the testers and make a mess, all those really bright lipsticks were within arms reach...

I actually order Skin Base in 01 white and the palest yellow tone 03 they have from the Illamasqua uk site to mix myself a custom shade. So much love! it great to know I can pick it up there when I run out and on the Lip Tars too.

Does this location carry Guerlain Lingerie de Peau? I know it's an online exclusive on the Sephora website, but sometimes they still have in in the stores in Canada.

I am not sure, but call them and they will be happy to tell you, the people there are so nice!

The new OCC Metallurgy lip tars are in!  I ended up with Super NSFW and Yaoi, probably going back for Triptych.  The rest of the lip tar stand is starting to look a bit bare.

Also looks like the Generation Q collection by Illamasqua will be arrive soon.  The Complement palette and Wisdom precision ink are the only products in stock on the display currently.  I'm lemming Opulent lipgloss and both nailpolishes.

I also tried out a few Atelier Colognes.  The super awesome SA made a sample of the vanilla and orange for me to test but the way she described them bascially sold me on both.  LOL  I just want to make sure they work with my chemistry.

I think so, I saw some testers in the Guerlain section today.  They carry both the Lingerie and Parure foundations.
