MAC Year of the Snake Collection Discussion (February 2013)

I don't want to get too excited until we know this isn't an Asia exclusive.  I'm glad to see their bringing Shell Pearl back, I always regretted not getting it.

I can't wait. Very pretty pictures. The eyeshadows, lipsticks and powders sound interesting. Especially this eyeshadow:

Aztec brick is a repromote. It came out with the spring forecast in a quad. Shell pearl is so beautiful. I have it in the liberty of London packaging so hopefully ill be able to get some more. It will probably be the only thing I get since the lipsticks are perm.

I was SO EXCITED....until I saw that they are all repromotes!   So sad.  So very, very sad.

 

Me too. The thing that worries me is that we haven't heard or seen anything about this collection (besides the Archies's Girls pic where this display was on the left). And I'm sure it comes out pretty soon, I assume January. So maybe this is just for China/Asia to celebrate the year of the snake. Just like Black&Grey Friday was US only. But I'm just guessing.

Even if this is Asia exclusive, at least the lipsticks are perm, so you can get those at any time. I do want to get my hands on some of those shadows and Shell pearl though...

The promo pics look AMAZING! So bummed that they are all either permanent of repromotes I'm not waiting for. I already own Shell Pearl, and Cockney and Freckletone are on my list but it can wait.

Yep.  I just meant it's interesting that they decided to do a collection like this this year instead of last year.  It seems rather random to me but I wonder if there's some significance I'm missing.  I love the packaging in any case

Even with repromotes or permanent items, it'll be my reason to pick them up. Cockney has been on my list for awhile and I always forget to swatch Freckletone. I already have Plumful and it's a lovely color. Shell Pink Beauty Powder sounds really pretty, so I hope it's not an Asia exclusive.

No, I think she means it was part of another past collection. (I could be wrong, though.)

It seems a large collection to be Asia exclusive...but if it is, I won't lose sleep over all the repromotes.  I would like Aztec Brick e/s as a single...

 

Shell Pearl was released in the Sundressing collection back in 2006 and for the Liberty of London collection in 2010.

The promo image looks amazing!!! I do hope that it's not just a Asia Exclusive like Lightfully Bright collection. I do want to get my hands on Once Upon A Time, Aztec Brick and Altered State eyeshadows.

Oh yes, Altered State is so pretty!  I only have a little pan of it from one of the 2009 holiday palettes.  I can't wait to see an eye look with the shadows in this collection.

i was surprised as well, but maybe they realized they had missed an opportunity this year? or maybe they'll start doing one of these every year...so eventually we'll have year of the rat collection...
