I mean the eye shadow itself looks normal and mac quality but the batch code on the bottom is black and is in a completely different font? Is that how the old ones were styled?

It's called lustreleaf.

Not sure myself but if you post pictures of the eyeshadow packaging someone might be able to work it out :)

If the product originated outside the US or Canada sometimes I have noticed the font is different.  It would help if you could post a picture of the label...
