Did you see that someone on the FB page asked when the new shades of tinted moisturizers will be released, and she was told that she'd have to check the NARS FB page for information later? :P

NARS Satin Lip Pencils - Page 2
Actually they have no idea NARS FB exists.lol I think the manager heard about it from her boss!
I just meant on the NARS FB page, they wouldn't confirm anything about an upcoming product if it hasn't been released or announced to be released. Therefore, for information about upcoming products before the release date, we can only count on unofficial information leaking online or insiders. ;)

Ah I get it.
I think NARS is too secretive compared to other brands. Look at MAC!! Sometimes I'm sooo jealous of MAC fans. ![]()
Not to knock MAC however the pro of sneak peaks is more than cancelled out by the con of absurdly limited stock. I am a long time MAC user, decades long, and am totally turned off by the frenzy. I do think of them as inexpensive so have no problems getting a lippie for a pick me up but honestly if they keep bumping the prices and making it a nerve wracking proposition to get your hands on something then I will end up doing my leisurely shopping elsewhere.
I LOVE how other brands, even those owned by same parent company, are able to do releases where you not only get a chance to try out things and think about it for a few days {if not weeks}, check out reviews, look for color comparisons etc. before plunketing down the dineros. With the exception of NP I have yet to have slow shoppers remorse with NARS and that means, for me, I have a better shopping experience and general good will feelings towards them.
Even Chanel, with its NP {and I am a NP and l/s gal}, manages to be findable which is way more than I can say for a large percentage of MAC releases.
Kelsey Deenihan used Het Loo Satin Lip Pencil on Kate Bosworth (with lipgloss on top, I imagine) for the Sundance premiere of "Big Sur".

Brick color...it looks like a dark version of Dolce Vita lip pencil or lip pencil version of Dolce Vita lip gloss (cuz DV l/g is more pigmented/redder and darker than DV l/p).

I agree with every single word! I'm also a loooong time MAC user but have been so turned off for the past 2 years or so. I don't enjoy super limited items nor do I need too many LE collections.
Gorgeous!
This is def.pinker and brighter than Luxembourg.
I think Luxembourg is close to Mexican Rose and Yu is close to Cartharge but with a hint of more magenta!
Besides, I think it could be the lip pencil the model of NARS wears (on the first page.).
Btw, the finish of the lip pencils is glossier than I expected whenever I see new pics!

truth be told I am almost scared to wear the super LE things. I mean I do of course but not as often as I wear my GC stuff. On a day to day basis I wear my GC stuff and only when I am going out, once or twice a month, do I wear my LE things.... I feel kinda stupid typing this out.
No reason you should. I can't tell you how delicate I was with my first Lightscapade when I started to see the pan. I'm still careful with all-time favourites like Mothbrown (can you believe I still have my original- before it was released with the Barbie collection?) because I love them and want to continue to enjoy them. The one saving grace is that I have so many products of all kinds now that it would take a concerted effort to finish anything.

Hey ladies I did this combo the other day due to seeing it on a blog and I cannot find the picture but trust me you want to try it
MAC cherry lipliner all over the darned place followed by Never Say Never. I was sitting there admiring the color and I went hey wait a minute I have those. Check it out for an awesome pinky red. Woot Woot
I had fun being a detective tonight. :P
It seems that Trevor Undi directed a film for NARS Cosmetics with music from the band New Look. Sarah Ruba (one half of the duo that is New Look, and also a model) apparently stars in the film. According to what's in the comments, it's scheduled for march, so I imagine that it's a promotional film for the satin lip pencils. And possibly there would be another one for the gel eyeliners? (I *love* her make-up by the way!)

It's a nude lip pencil, isn't it?
It could be Lodhi cuz it looks like a muted version of Bolero. :)
But it leans on orange rather than pink (Bolero is nude-peach but a hint of pink).

More info about Het Loo l/p, the article said it's warm tawny brown and it's similar to NARS Velvet gloss l/p in More!

I agree, she's beautiful.
It looks quite shiny in this Yu picture, but maybe it's because she's smiling? Everything looks a bit shinier when lips are smooth.
You're right, it would make sense if the satin lip pencils aren't glossy. It doesn't look glossy at all in some photographs, and it kind of does in others.
Swatches and official information, quick! :P
Look at that, someone else is selling the Satin Lip pencils collection, except 2 (Rikugien, Biscayne Park) that I imagine they kept for themselves.
I'll be honest, I'm never happy to see whole collections available for sale on eBay ahead of the release date. :/

hmmm I guess I should have done multi quote ...
Well since Nars makes a Matte lip pencil and a Glossy lip pencil I am going to have to assume that the Satin are regular shiny lip pencils. HTH But gloss's always look WET to me and Satins always look shiny and Mattes look well depends on formula
I understood what you meant the first time. ;)
I was just pointing out that it's difficult to draw conclusions on the finish of these satin lip pencils based on the pictures posted above, because it looks quite different from one picture to the other. Therefore I'm anxiously waiting for reviews and good swatches. :)
I know what you mean, but we can't help it right? :(
Btw, Wow, some lip pencils are quite darker than I expected!
The 5th pencil from the right looks Het Loo to me!
Miss QQ - I agree, I LOVE Mexican Rose

Oh I LOVE her makeup here! Its gorgeous!
Stalkery, perfect choice of words.
Sadly. :/
Call me old-fashioned, but the idea of selling something you were given for free makes me sad. Bloggers / journalists don't have to make a review of what they're sent for consideration of course, but brands don't have to send them things for free either. Selling a whole collection on eBay ahead of the release date shows no sign of appreciation imho. It makes me think of those who would be overjoyed to get just one item for consideration, and those at NARS who are basically being considered as a gift-machine they can make some money on.

^ Agreed, I find it irritating. I can understand selling one or two of the pencils that you don't want even, but when they are putting the whole set up for sale it makes me think that they aren't even interested in makeup but rather money...so then why are they blogging etc? That is assuming that the seller is a blogger. It makes sense if they are a journalist at a magazine, since those people tend to get lots of free stuff, and are actually not that obsessed with makeup IMO, they just happen to be working in that field for whatever reasons. I don't think it's wrong per se, but yeah, I find it irritating.
