Haha, I call it strategic placing! Two of my addictions are make up and chocolate, hehe :)
I'm not too fussed about getting a king now instead of a queen. I guess maybe because it is not something I grew up with.
A change is cool, I guess, although I wish they'd keep celebrating Queen/King/Royalty day on the 30th. I liked having a bunch of holidays so close together!
Maybe we'll get to see more of the little princesses now?!

Haha indeed!
I also didn't grew up with it and don't care that much, but I like to have something different as well. I'm curious to see how he will do and how people will like it. I also liked to have all those holidays together, because that would often result in a very long weekend or a couple of long weekends!
I hope the little princesses will still be able to grow up somewhat normal. Their father becoming king will make things very different compared to when he was 'just' a prince I guess.

My nearest PRO store is a 12 hour drive away lol (Vancouver), been there a few times... hoping I can order from them without any hassle! I made friends with a girl working there last summer and I wonder if she'll remember me. Any Vancouverites should go see Helen at the pro store on Robson, she's great :)

Yay!
you're awesome. I've never called an order before. You don't have to be a pro member right? Do you just call the nearest store and they'll send it?- erine1881

I believe pro only items launch on the listed launch date (not a week early), as other stores won't be getting them. Nope, no pro card needed. Just ring em up, and it's $7 for shipping.
I'm getting the metallic lips (minus the brown) and all the metallic shadows. Probably all the nude shadows, unsure of the nude lips.

Perhaps our future Queen can carry on the tradition of her father and tell the dutch press to go f*ck themselves. (Ever seen that clip on tv where he's mumbling (as a child) that they should f*ck off and Beatrix is embarassed).
That would be really cool! Poor Beatrix...

Are we thinking a lot of this collection is likely to sell out quickly? Or do we suspect it will be around for awhile since it's Pro store only? I'd really need to see these in person (or at the very least some pics/swatches) before feeling confident making my selections, but the nearest Pro store is a little over two hours away from me, and idk if it's worth that kind of trip the day of the release just to check these out. I really don't want to miss out on this collection though, so I'm feeling torn here. Too bad it's not releasing two weeks earlier as I'll be in that area at that time!

I don't think it will sell out too quickly as there isn't as much hype, no special packaging or theme really and if Pro store only, less folks will know of it? Just my guess though.
My have to haves:
Nude Collection
Lipstick: Angel's Kiss - Sheer soft pinky nude with pearlized pigments (Amplified) I love amplified plus pearl...
Eyeshadows:
Bare Minimum - Sheer soft pinky nude with pearlized pigments (Satin)
Exposed - Sheer neutral mid-tone nude(if it really isn't cool or warm)
Metallic Collection
Lipstick: Show-All - Heavily metallic deep red (Frost) unless its a Rocker dupe
Subverted - Metallic brown (Frost) if its deep enough
Dominate - Deep metallic purple (Frost) I can't wait for this one
Eyeshadow 15.00 US/18.00 CAD
Loves Lure - Metallic deep red (Veluxe Pearl) is the item I am most stoked to see.
Powder Blush
Stylish Me - Deep mid-tone mauve (Satin) if its not the same as Pink Cult...
No special packaging means we should be able to b2m for this collection, right? Worth making a trip to the pro store for b2m.

On Moms thinking one has too much makeup:
Back in the 1950s when i was a kid there weren't so many makeup color choices. My mother wore an unflattering shade of red lipstick and a thick pancake foundation that was far far from her own skin tone. By the 1960s there were more lipstick color choices. And foundations began to have a wider range of more natural colors by the late 60s/early 70s.
I worked hard to get my mother to wear a different lipstick and a foundation closer to her natural color.
By the late 60s she found a lipstick color she liked, a soft coral which did look good on her - and she wore only that one color until it was discontinued over 30 years later, and then she found another that was nearly the same.
And after experimenting with several brands of foundation, she found a foundation she liked by Clinique; it wasn't quite her natural color, but at least it was less extremely off - she did not like her own somewhat olive coloring. She never wore eyeshadow and only black cake eyeliner. She had black cake mascara in the 50s, but by the time spoolie tubes came out she had stopped wearing mascara.
She never understood why i liked to wear different colors, and she never approved of the colors i liked. Shrug. Me, I just can't imagine wearing one and only one color of lipstick for 40+ years!

Without seeing the colors yet, here's my list FOR TEST
Nude Coll. Lipsticks
Angel's Kiss - Sheer soft pinky nude with pearlized pigments
Nearly Nude - Sheer, warm pink nude
Restrained - Sheer, neutral mid-tone nude
Nude Coll. Eyeshadows
Bare Minimum - Sheer soft pinky nude with pearlized pigments
Glimpse of Flesh - Sheer warm pink nude
Exposed - Sheer neutral mid-tone nude
Metallic Coll. Lipstick
Dominate - Deep metallic purple (Go, Team Purple!)
But i could change my mind and want to test more when i see them...
The Metallic Coll. eyeshadows all sound too dark for me
Metallic Coll. Powder Blush - Stylish Me - Deep mid-tone mauve <= i'm pretty sure this is a must buy for me (Team Purple, what can i say...)
This will necessitate a trip to San Francisco. Such a hardship... There's an absolutely fantastic chocolatier near the MAC Pro shop - CocoaBella (i'm a chocolate and a coffee snob - not just any kind will do) - as well as a LUSH and a sephora...

Every MAC store should have a chocolate shop on one side and a wine shop on the other.
I used to think that all I needed was one color of my perfect red, pink, purple, brown and etc lipstick and gloss. I never bought eyeshadow b/c i thought it was too difficult to apply. I can kinda relate to your mom.
But I also understand having a vice and collecting stuff that seems ridiculous to others. My friends love vinyl and will spend HUNDREDS on one record. I love it too. Just can't afford to have that vice and makeup. LOL

My rekindled interest in makeup in the last 2 years marked the end of my gig and festival going days. It was one or the other - no way I could fund both at such intensity. I probably could if I did the in moderation but I don't do anything in moderation
Right now makeup gives me more joy than gigs so I don't mind having a large chunk of my disposable income go to buying new products. I expect my makeup frenzy to dwindle in the next couple of years or so, only to be replaced by something else. But no way I'm going back to collectiong vinyl! I spent eyewatering sums on the stuff back in the day - it makes me cringe even thinking about it. The last time I saw them they were in a box at my parents place. They probably still are, unless my mum's thrown them out in a particularly enthusiastics episode of spring cleaning. I dare not ask
