Waterline - Page 3

Re: Waterline

I've occasionally done my waterline by dipping Graphblack technakohl into Blacktrack fluidline and applying it that way. But, honestly, my eyes tear up so much when I touch the waterline that it's just not worth it. It smudges off after a couple hours anyway, so meh.

Re: Waterline

I line my water line almost every time with Powerpoint or Maybelline Unstoppable Liner. Both stay with me but Engraved stays longer.

Re: Waterline

I guess I must be strange; I don't really have a problem getting pencils to stay on the waterline. Usually by the time I get home from school (I put makeup on around 7 and get home around 4:30) a bit of it is still left.

your waterline is the "line" that starts where your tearduct is till the end outer corner of your eye..

I just bought a backup of the Feline Kohl because I love it on my waterline

Re: Waterline

I went to a MAC Studio Talk a few months ago and I remember the makeup artist who was teaching/lecturing the class that fluidlines/powerpoint pencils were not safe for the waterline, but kohl pencils were. I hardly ever line my waterline because I get worried with things like this a lot.

Re: Waterline

I have heard this too. Only kohl products are safe for the waterline -- the only reason why people use Fluidlines is because they don't run or smudge on the waterline and because they don't feel any immediate reaction. Reacions may come later though -- I don't know.
I have used fluidline on the waterline, but try not to and prefer to use my Guerlain Kohl bullits or a good kohl pencil.

Re: Waterline

I have never been sure about this either. I heard of some people using eye shadow powder on the waterlien. Ouch.

Re: Waterline

I actually use MACs Carbon e/s on my waterlines.. Not the best idea, but it's the only thing that will actually stay *on* them.

I was told by a MAC MUA to use Fluidline on my waterlines, but it doesn't last long for me.

Re: Waterline

Nothing works on my waterline. UD 24/7 pencils stay for like 15 minutes, loreal hip gel liner doesn't work, i gave up. =\

Re: Waterline

I use Rimmel soft khol (in black), it stays put up to 5h at least!

Re: Waterline

I use Smoulder Eye Khol but it makes my eyes gunky when I use it on the waterline :\

Re: Waterline

Do you happen to know what the name of the BE Liner is? I looked on the website, but I don't see it or I'm just blind! Thanks!

Buxom Insider Eyeliner. Here's the link, I'm pretty sure it's only for sale at Sephora ( BE sells some Buxom products, but sephora has a TON.)

Sephora: Bare Escentuals Buxom Insider Eyeliner: Eyeliner

I use onyx, it's a dark dark black (not like there's a such thing as light black lol, but you know what I mean)

Re: Waterline

women have been tightlining since ancient times.
there are products out there that are made just for lining the waterline.
i also think smashbox makes one just like fluidline (i think its called jetset liner) and they DO say to use it on your waterline, saying it is safe and it does last.
and it has been said that if you put any eyeliner on your rim to not go all the way over and stop just before your tear duct, because you'd be clogging it otherwise. which makes sense.
but i love fluidline on my inner rim and will continue to do it. lol =)

Re: Waterline

*shudder* i just hope these companies aren't just SAYING these products are safe to use.

i'm actually kind of ready to stop lining my waterline because of this.

I don't line my waterline because nothing stays on there and it seems like begging for an infection. What does work, though, is when you use a extremely light pastel pink (fleshy colour) on the lower waterline - really brightens up the eye and doens't look weird like white does. I hardly ever do this because I don't like lining the waterline but it works anyway smiles.gif

If you want to accentuate eyes without touching the waterline you can also apply liquid eyeliner on top of the upper eyelashes, right at the bottom of your lashes. This really adds defintion when you're doing super natural make-up with no eyeliner and eliminates any white gaps between eyeliner and the lashes when you do line the eyes.

I used to not do my waterline because nothing would stay, until i found the maybeline eye liner in a jar... sorta like the fluidline.

Anywho, I only line it when I'm on a shoot for my personal eye definition (I hate wearing clumps of mu when I'm working all day). So I do well when I remember to REMOVE it during my end of makeup removal, when I don't my allergies act up.

I will still line my waterline, ever so often.

I really cannot imagine not lining my water line, especially when taking photographs! The little gap there drives me mad!
