Eyeshadow: Satin Taupe (frost) - Page 2

would you buy it again?: maybe

so when i first bought this colour it was because i seriously owned NO neutrals except sable, which at that moment in time had broken because it was almost all used up. sooo i decided to buy satin taupe because it seemed nice. which is saying alot, because i mostly only go for bright colours.

a couple weeks later i got a new sable to put in my palette... which is next to satin taupe.... surely enough they are almost identical. so if you have sable or satin taupe... you don't need both lol.

satin taupe's colour pay off isn't that great. it looks awesome with shroom and also jardin aires pigment. good for smokey eyes. i might try it with expensive pink OR green smoke... lol

but i think it's a must have for most people.

Would you buy this product again? absolutely yes!!

This is a beautiful brown/grey taupe with plum/mauve undertones - and it has the most beautiful texture and payoff, it certainly isnt chalky, it has a beautiful smooth almost creamy application (like most VP finishes) and the payoff is great, again like most VP. It blends beautifully and flawlessly for even the most inexperienced users.

I love the versatility of this colour, because of the multi-hues this shadow offers it can be manipulated to look good with almost all colours across the spectrum, and has to be possibly the best shadow MAC actually makes for texture, colour payoff, versatility, and general suitability across the demographics of almost all users.

If I had to choose only one shadow from my entire traincase to keep it would be ST!

Just for reference I am a NC 42-44. I cannot stand this shade. When I wear it I look like I have a black eye. It looks so ugly on me. It would probly look better on someone lighter.

This color does not look great on my either and we have the same skin coloring. I've tried many times and just saw a picture of me wearing it and it just looks horrible on me.

Repurchase: Definatly !!

I love eveything about this e/s ! texture, shade, I find it goes with about any color, i wear it pretty much daily. Lids, crease, esp in outter V and to blend out other colors with. It shows up on me as a shimmery taupe-kind of dirty but in a good way, LOL !! For reference im a NW skin tone if that helps. This shade is in my top 5 and will repurchase when needed

I love Satin Taupe. It's great as a wash of colour over the lids, or even popped in the crease. Very versatile.

This has a great texture and applies fantastically but really doesn't suit my NC20 skin. My eyes just end up looking dirty and a little bit bruised.

Would you buy this product again....YES

I buy this shade in bulk usually 4 at a time..

Satin Taupe works well with eyes contoured in Wedge, Cork and Espresso.. I find that Satin Taupe adds a real punch and adds drama where its needed..Highlight with Shroom or Rice Paper which are just bright enough to work well..

Its also great used as a wash for a smokey eye ..One of the best colours I have found..Love it

I love this color. When I'm not really in the mood to do a really fancy eyeshadow look this is ALWAYS the color I go to. I normally just use it by itself and I just love it. This is the only eyeshadow that I've actually ran completely out of from MAC.

I'm nw20, and I love this shadow. It is pretty much purple on me, and is lovely as a wash or crease color. Lover it!

I only bought this a few weeks ago and it is a definite must-have stable in everybody's collection. Applies nicely, good coverage and somewhat of a 'gentle' colour. Soft but can be combined with pretty much anything!

Color looks beautiful in the pan but it's just too frosty for me. It looks ok on me during mt lighter skin tone days but when I am darker/tanner the frostiness does not look right on me (NC 30-35).

This color looks blah to me in the pan. But its actually a pretty color and it has become one of my favorites. I wear it for my everyday looks.

I use this occasionally...it's a great neutral, looks great on most but for ME sometimes it's a bit to frosty(but I really love mattes) but I just blend it a little more and some of the frost fades into a beautiful brownish color...I find it hard to describe..lol ....Anyway, a definite must have for every MAC lover.

This is another one of my new favorites. I find it's quite dimensional, and if I'm in a rush I can just slap it on all over my lid and up in the crease and it looks like I have many different shadows on!

I'm an N15/20 and I found that if this isn't done absolutely perfectly, it makes me look like i have sunken black eyes. So weird.. since even just plan black eyeshadow does this.

I love this and will always have it on hand! I mostly use it in my crease...it's not a great lid color for me.

A bit of a middle of the road colour for me. Love the texture and application, just never really reach for it. Doesn't do much for me as a lid colour, but nice in the crease with something like Naked Lunch for day time.

Pretty but overrated in my opinion.

I'm an NC30 but I haven't yet been able to make this work without looking like someone just punched me in the eye. The MUAs all recommend blending it with a darker crease color (While using this on the lid), but it's just not working =/

I think this is my favorite MAC shadow that I use as a lid color. This color goes with basically with everything. I've worn this to job interviews, church, running errands etc. I usually wear this with sketch in the crease and shadowy lady in the outer v with rice paper as my highlight.
