Guerlain discussion - Page 55

I have so been on the fence about the green quad.....I may have to cave.  I have the Paradis ballz....they're really pretty and give me (NW25) good color, despite what T says.....I really like them!

I've also ordered Ballade....now I think I also need Flirt.  It's gorgeous!!

Yay for Izzy's and Blush G Sakura!  I think my Blush G is one of my most prized makeup possessions.........

^^ Let us know if you get the quad. The collection is not launched here yet but I feel I'll cave too.

3 looks to do with the green quad! The blogger says the grey is not pigmented, is that so? I like the looks!

Double post.

^^  Wow!  I REALLY like the 3rd look!  Very pretty, and unexpected!  I think I'm convincing myself of the need for it ;).

Flirt is gorgeous!!! I searched it today and decided to order it when I got home. It's a very complex color - cant wait to get it!

I played around with the palette today to make sure it's a keeper. It really is! No pigmentation problems with any of the shadows. A light touch is all you need to build it because going in too heavy handed, you will have to blend forever. These remind me of Chanel shadows and that's always a good thing. Each color is flattering on my skin. The coral is amazing. It's subdued, with a little shimmer and just gorgeous. Don't be afraid of it. I did one eye with coral on the lid and the darkest green/gray in the crease and the other eye had light green on the lid and the other shade of dark green in the crease. I loved both looks, but I prefer the light green on the lid because it really opened my eyes and I really think that's just one of the best colors on me. I love green!

You're making me so excited for it. I love greens too! I'm glad to hear the coral has a bit of shimmer, because it will make it different from the other corals I have which are matte.

iagree.gif.....after reading your review,Shontay,I am even more excited and cannot wait to get this palette.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on it!

I am so glad to hear your positive review on this. It is funny but when I was in the store purchasing the purple palette I thought of you and how much you would love the greens in this one..

Really? Aww. Yeah, when I was in the mall and saw the display I told myself don't go over there. The price was killing me. I couldn't help it, though. After swatching and seeing how gorgeous all of it is. Sometimes, you just gotta give in. The quality of the shadows and the packaging is so nice. I won't make these Guerlain quads a habit, though.

Flirt (761) Shine Automatique lipstick review @ temptalia

I am SO getting that lipstick eyelove.gif

EDIT:  I JUST ordered it!

LOL!! I ordered it last night - it is GORGEOUS!! You'll love it!!

Shontay, I hear you! I said the same thing.......the quads have been a siren since they came out. Turnadot is one of my favorites, and in the perm line, there's not a bad one in the bunch. The Rouge Automatiques are a weakness too, but I seem to be a little 'stronger' in the will power department with them greengrin.gif. Glad you love what you got!!
Oh, and I agree, she really has the 'model' look, yes?

I LOVE LOVE the Turandot palette! I had a BU sitting in my NM cart & pouf it was gone :(

Oh that's funny!! I had bought one for Elena in case she couldn't get hers in Europe, and just returned it at Nordies yesterday. I wish I had known!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I shall weep cry.gif Not like I'll use mine all up

Oh I know - I considered keeping it, but know I will never, ever use all of the makeup I have!!! I can always call my SA to see what they did with it, if you like?
Maybe I need to buy Turandot before it's gone and all I can do is kick myself. tong.gif

Yes, you do. th_devil.gif

Yes, you do Miss QQ!  I caved in the end and really love it as much as everyone else.

Oh MissQQ, you MUST get Turnadot while you can!! It's gone everywhere!!!

OK - the Coup de Foudre quad.......  heart.gif heart.gif.  I did a look today that used all of the colors - not something I typically do, but the colors blend so seamlessly together that it is just a gorgeous combination!  Next time I will use a transparent primer (I used something too 'bright' this time, but it still looks good!), but I used the darkest slate color in the crease and blended it up, the olive color on the outer 1/3 of my eye, the lightest green on the middle 1/3, and I just barely touched the coral color to the inner 1/3.  I used MAC Creamy Bisque to highlight and on the inner corner......and the olive color to line my lower lashes.  I absolutely LOVE this quad!!  And I'm not a green shadow person.

I highly recommend it!!  thmbup.gif

Seriously cannot wait to get my paws on this. I am a green shadow lover (although they aren't necessarily supposed to work on blue eyes), plus I love coral shades around the eyes. I can't wait to try it out!!

The texture is amazing, and the colors blend effortlessly. The lightest green was a very nice surprise to me - it really brightens the eye. And the coral shade is crazy pigmented - it's just beautiful. A winner of a quad - and a great follow-up to Turnadott.

For some reason the purple one didn't appeal to me at all - I didn't even swatch it.
I'm not a green shadow lover, I shall see if CdF calls to me. It will not launch at my counters until February.

elegant - I agree she looks like a model. I always wanted to have the haircut, but it will never work with my ears.

Winthrop - You have no problems with Turandot being too warm? I'm afraid it will give me the tired look.

Ok, so I love the ballz! I know some do not. But I crushed a silver and it made my extra shimmery. They are pinkish matte if no silver is used. I like 3 shades in the purple quad, the other is too much for me. Wound up with 2 of the purples quads and need the green now.

I love the mascara! I got it in Violet and it is very very pigmented and pretty and lightweight and nice for the mu bag. The glosses are gorgeous!

Hmmm.....maybe I should check out the purple mascara - it really brings out the green in my hazel eyes.....

I have decided, with much forethought, that I am going to get the Wulong compact as an early b/d present to myself......yikes, I've never forked over that much for a makeup item.....and I should wait until the refill is available, but if it is not, I'd probably regret it.  I found one at my local Nordies and purchased it over the phone, sight unseen.  I'm picking it up tomorrow.......I don't know whether to be excited or to cry......  girlhaha.gif.....while I'm there I'm going to check out last year's to see if it would suit my (cooler/neutral) skin tone better, but at least that one has the refill available now (I actually prefer last year's compact to this year's - I'm a sucker for silver).

I've managed to order a back up for my Wulong voyage powder with 50% off as well as the shimmer spray from Escentual the other day. Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow. cheerleader.gif Does anyone know when the spring collection is coming out in the UK/Europe?

I haven't read or heard when the collection will be in EU - will keep an eye out.

How do you end up getting a 50% off coupon? That's awesome!
