After looking at those pics and prices, I don't think I want a lip palette anymore. Although that pearlizer and brush duo is tempting - how I can I not resist a mini kabuki brush? That, plus the lipglass and the paint pots have definitely caught my attention.

I'm still so up in there with this collection. I guess I just have to wait and see everything in person to see if I actually really like anything. :shrug: I am just not super excited or thrilled with this one. Even after seeing that tiny preview picture. Gah, I don't know.

Anyone else feel a little on the fence about Novel Twist?

im still really excited! hahaha but after seeing the picture, im gonna pass on the eye palette and lip palettes, not that interesting to me..im gonna get both brush sets, both pearlizers, both blushes and both beauty powders. (i think) hahaha

Same here.. I want both brush sets and I kind of wanted the warm eyeshadow palette but after seeing the picture I'm not too interested in it. Maybe it'll be better in person? But overall I'm not too "wow" about Novel Twist.

i think the only thing that i like from that picture is the cosmetics bags, the makeup is alright but i am looking forward to flashtronic and rushmetal.

i'm getting both brush sets, softdew b/p, maybe a blush, and some lipglosses. this haul is gonna be expensive! do the b/p cases and blush cases have the same design as the bags? i think i can tell the blushes do.

I was looking up past collections with pearlizers in the color stories tab when I happen to see the following in Belle Azure section:

Quiver - bronze shimmer
Hundred Degrees - pink shimmer

But then I see a different description in this thread:

aww the pearlizer+brush set comes with a case too! i love that =D

charismaticlime, i think the Belle Azur description is the correct one cuz theres this swatch on the MAC product gallery website & it shows that hundred degrees is pink and quiver is gold/bronze =)

I was starting to think that too, especially since AVIVA-Berlin describes Hundred Degrees as a "radiant pink shimmer" and Quiver a "rich peachy-bronze shimmer". I guess I'll opt for Hundred Degrees pearlizer once it hits stores (it almost reminds me of Porcelain Pink).

I only want 2 paint pots and the pink blush from this one. Most of my money will go to Flashtronic since I only want 1-2 pigments from Rushmetal. Thank goodness my birthday is in the middle of July!!

i'm soooooo bad - i just pre-ordered by telephone both the Pro and Basic brush sets and the cool pealizer + mini kabuki brush.....i just promised the fiance that the Barbie Beauty Powder he ordered for me at 1am was the last purchase i wanted (we're saving for the wedding).

specktra is such a bad thing for my pocketbook - but i'm going to my new brushes!!!

the MA explained to me that the brushes are good (i was told by MAs in the past that they aren't as good quality as the full size brushes) - she said they are made with the same hairs, but machine made instead of handmade like the full size ones.

i can't wait to pick these up from Nordies on July 23!! :cartwheel:

Yea I feel the same way. Nothing really seems to catch my eye. I probably will end up getting the brushes but thats about it.

i called one of my local Nordies yesterday to see if they were pre-selling - the MA was able to do it over the telephone for me. i had to give my CC to put it on hold - they run it through on July 18th and said i can pick up on July 23rd.

Just call up your Nordies and ask for the MAC counter and ask the MA.

what about the people who wants to pay by cash who doesn't have CC. can we still preorder?

yeah, i had asked the MA about that - she said if i wanted to pay cash, then to come in on the 18th before they "swipe" my card, and let them know i have a pre-order. they would then have me buy a gift card with my cash and swipe the gift card through for payment of the pre-order. but i figured i will have the funds in my debit card by the 18th so it would be ok for me to have them bill it to my card that day. you still need the CC to put the pre-order on hold for you.

when you call the Nordies MAC, make sure to ask the MA (and get the name so you can say you spoke to so and so who said you could do it that way)

I have been able to pay cash for pre-orders before. I just have to bring in my receipt when I pick it up and they mark it paid on the hold slip.

yes you can IF the MA & the store that they are in can do that... some managers etc. have different rules for this due to previous presales problems &/or errors. If you dont have any luck preselling an order at a counter near you with a gift card, feel free to call the Nordstrom Southpoint 919-806-3700 in Durham NC where I am ;-) Just ask for Trisha. I have many customers from out of town that I work with so i can send it where ever really. I have a lady that lives in Miami that I send to all the time because she was here on business trip once and we got along famously. hehe. So yeah its no prob to do it... basically I just figure out how much the total will be with tax and ring up a gift card for them & they hold onto the card.... i use the number from the gift card (like we do with a credit card #) to ring it up for them when the products available. makes life easy really, lol.
