Wouldn't surprise me. I don't know that I would pick either of them out of the l/s lineup to try on, but together in that palette... the l/s and gloss just look like they were meant to be together. So much love for something I won't even buy, I can't explain it. Perhaps they just look so much better together after the uninspiring Cool Eyes palette.

It's the Hundred Degrees (cool) Pearlizer. It comes with that 181SE brush next to it, and both come in the darling square fabric bag next to them. The other items in the picture are the Basic brush set (which are next to their bag) and... I'm not sure what the other item is. Your guess is probably better than mine. But I'm gonna go ahead and guess that it's a Beauty Powder, the cool one... Softdew? The only other big-ish powder item are the blushes, and I think they are smaller and their container has a see-through top with squiggles.

From what I understand, the cool items are on the blue background in ReXaY's pics, and the warm ones are on the funky brownish color background. (Her foldout looks exactly like mine.) So the items, as far as I can tell, as shown in the order of ReXaY's pics in the Swatch thread are as follows:
1st pic: Warm Beauty Powder (Sun Twist) at the top, with the Warm Pearlizer (Quiver) plus its brush and bag in the next row, and the Pro brushset and half of its bag in the bottom row.
2nd pic: I think the top row is the top of the warm lip palette packaging, as well as the top of the warm beauty powder compact. Next row is the warm blush (Out of Bounds), the two warm lipglasses, and half of the Pro brushset's bag.
3rd pic: Probably the top of the Warm Eyes palette, then the Warm Eyes palette, then the Tan Lips on top (prettier in person) and the Coral Lips (not as pretty in person) on the bottom.
4th pic: The cool beauty powder (Softdew) is at the top, then the cool pearlizer (Hundred Degrees) with its brush and its bag, and finally half the Basic brushset bag and the Basic brushset itself.
5th pic: I believe it's the top of the cool lip palettes and the top of the cool beauty powder compact, then the cool blush (Whim), the two cool lipglasses and half of the Basic brush bag.
6th pic: I think that's the top of the Cool Eyes palette, then the Cool Eyes palette itself, with the Pink Lips palette on top and the Plum Lips palette on the bottom.

I haven't seen the blushes, beauty powders or lipglasses yet. (ETA: or the paint pots.) But from what I've seen, I'm leaning towards getting the Pro brushset. I'm still contemplating the Hundred Degrees pearlizer- the bag and brush are an awesome deal with it- and maaaaybe the Plum Lips palette. Which frankly I thought was a RED Lips palette because it seemed to lean more red on my skin. So while it's a pretty collection, I'm not totally convinced that there's a lot I need from Novel Twist just yet. If I was warm-toned though, I'd be all over the warm pearlizer and the Warm Eyes palette in a heartbeat!

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

Yeah!!!!! I have just placed my pre-order, I am very happy!!!! This is what I've ordered:

- both brush sets
- both pearlizer sets
- warm eyes palette
- both warm lipglasses
- warm blush
- warm beauty powder

Now the long waiting starts.....and it also has to be shipped to The Netherlands, so I have to wait even longer!!!! But I'm still happy...

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

I preordered Softdew, Out of Bounds (which I am hoping to use as a matte-ish bronzer), and 2 of the Paint Pots (Painterly and Stray Grey).

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

Anyone know if we are going to be able to get our hands on anything the day it comes out? It seems most everyone is doing preorders... I need some more time to save for stuff!

they aren't charging anything to my cc until July 18th (unless i choose to come in and pay cash for the gift card and pay with the gift card).....so really, you don't need any money to pay for it until then. the cc is just to hold the items for you til then.

but now i'm wondering....if it comes out officially July 20th, then why do I have to wait until July 23rd to be able to pick it up from teh store???

I only have one problem...no credit cards. Not even a debit card. I pay cash for everything, so I would have to go the gift card route. That is really weird you can't pick it up from the store til the 23rd. I am going to ask at my store... strange...

i don't think you'll be able to get your hands on the brush sets because i was looking at the brush sets today and the MA told me that the brush sets sold out really fast.

i'm going to preorder mine tomorrow. you can preorder by using a giftcard. i ask the MA if they accept preorder by cash and she said i can purchase a giftcard and do the preorder from the gift card.

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

i saw "novel twist" and "twirl twirl" on the swatch list. what are they? blush?

thanks and sorry for the dumb question

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

I fear this collection is going to cost me alot of money. I definitely want the Pro brushes and am leaning towards the Basics too. Then there are the coral lips which I would need to see on first. The warm pearlizer looks really cool, although I'm not really sure I need another highlighter.

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

I'm thinking of getting Soft Dew BP......but if the blush Prism tends to look too brown on me, will Soft Dew be the same? thanks for your suggestions....

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

anyone have more updated "inside" info on the quality & size of the novel twist basic and pro brush sets, compared to the full size you purchase separately?

i'm skeptical due to past threads warning of "bad" brush set quality and don't want to get inferior products, even if it's $48 per set.

also, which pearlizer set do you recommend for yellow/olive skintones? thanks :~)

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

do u think that the WHIM powder blush in this collection will give the "barbie pink" look when applied?

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

on the nordstrom website, it says the pearlizers are 1.5 oz. maybe i'm just going crazy, but i thought the full size ones are only 1.5 g which is 1/30 of 1.5 oz. can someone please tell me it's just a typo and i'm not insane...

I just added a few things to my pre-order, and I reconfirmed that I could go ahead and pick them up on JULY 20th.

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

This is going to sound hilarious, but thank goodness. Having seen the stuff online, it doesn't look like I'll want too much from this one! which leaves more money for flashtronic, rushmetal, and smoke signals!

The brush sets are the same size (short handle) & quality as the brush sets sold in the holiday collections. The brushes are not always exactly the same ones from an earlier collection (for example some of the brushes in the Novel Twist set are dif. from the ones in last years Patternmaker).

I believe you can do a search for Novel Twist on the Nordstrom website, but the paint pots won't come up.

You can see all the beauty exclusives for the Anniversary sale if you go to Nordstrom.com, click on Beauty & Fragrance, then scroll down to the bottom left category that says "more ways to shop" and click on Beauty Exclusives. You can see what a bunch of different lines have to offer if you click on that.

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

Well, I went back to Nordie's today. I cancelled my pre-order of the Quiver pearlizer, because it's just not the right color for me.

I was going to swatch the pink blush, as was requested on here, but then I realized that they didn't have the blushes out on display to look at. Sorry about that!!

My MAC girl, however, said that she would call me when the paint pots come in so I can come play with them/swatch them, so as soon as she does, I'll get pics up! She said she played with them this morning at their briefing though and they were really creamy and fun!

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

aw, i'm still debating if i should change the pearlizer color i pre-ordered. none of my nordstrom's mac has any testers available.

i did live chat with nordies to find out which nordies in my city has the testers out, but the girl told me that there are no testers available until July 29th (9 days after the official release of Novel Twist - doesn't make any sense to me)
