I wanted to preorder the quad and call the Beauty hot line.
They told me that the quad wasn't available for purchase online and that you could only get it in stores.
However, I didn't ask about the rest of the collection coming out in July but I am sure that it will be available online as it was last year.

Call one of the stores and have it shipped. They told me they only charge $5.

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

Supposedly the paintpots mimic the CCB's but have the lasting ability of the paints. They aren't supposed to dry as fast, which is the best part about them! Now we have more than 3 secs to apply our shadows! I tried them today and they sort of feel like fluidlines, but they really do make for a fabulous base. Looking VERY forward to these...

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

quick question bout the brush sets, are they gonna be the "se" sizes or the full size and bout how much will they run?

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

Does anybody know how much the beauty powders and pearlizers will be?

I want so much of this. I love this collection. The pearlizers sounds great. I am getting both and all of the paint pots. Yay. New stuff to play with.

Does anybody know when this be released? My mom is coming in the end of July and i plan on her getting this from Nords for me.

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

I wonder why no one has brought up the 182 duo fiber brush that comes with the pearlizers? Is it supposed to be like the regular 182 but skunk style? Or is it a whole different brush?

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

Are some of the lipsticks from the permanent line? 'Cos I'm sure I've seen Rambling Rose & New York Apple at the stores...

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

I saw the Novel Twist book today at my Nordies when I went to check out Moonbathe. The pictures I saw weren't that great, but I can't say that I am too crazy about the packaging. It *looked* like black packaging, with what appeared to be paint spatter or paint drizzle on it. It looked very 1980s to me. The pearlizer and mini brush as so cute though. They have their own little tiny zipper bag to house them in. I think the brush sets were black, one set with black ferrels and one set with brown or bronze. It looked like the cool sets had the black casing with blue paint drizzle, and the warm set had the black casing with pink or red drizzle. The pictures were pretty bad, so I am not sure how accurate the colors were. The paint pots looked nice, but just like fluidline pots to me. The only reason I knew they were the paint pots rather than f/l was because I read the caption under the picture. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known the difference.

In the pictures I saw today, it looked like the regular 182, all black bristles, just a mini version. I just looked quickly though...

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

^^ Pearlizers are like loose shimmer powders you can use to highlight with. They make nice loose shadows too.

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

I went to my Nordies (Arlington, VA) on Friday and I pre-ordered both brush sets and both eyeshadow palettes. It was really hard to tell what anything else is going to look like from the pics that they had to show, but I know I'll use brushes and e/s. I am hoping that the l/g are nice because last year I bought Soft Edge from the Patternmaker collection and I use it so often!

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

I took a brief look at a catalog (summer 2007) at the pro store & on the page where it described this collection (it had a sm. promo pic of a woman, not of the actual items) it mentioned where it would be released (for eg. it mentioned Nordie's & the Bay *these were the only 2 I could see… small print), so its possible that you can ask a MAC counter for the info. I have only purchased from this col. for the past 2 years & those have been the only stores that carry this summer collection, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

The prices for this collection are the same (maybe a couple $ more) than the comparable items from other collections this year. For example, the BLM BP was $22, so the one for this col. should be about the same.

Nordie's does take pre-orders by phone; I usually place my order 2-3 weeks b4 it goes on sale (& I pick it up at the store) solely on the descriptions provided by this site and the MAC salesperson that takes my call. You can usually see the items on line about a week before it goes on sale & they have photos of the items in their anniversary catalog.

I was a huge fan of the Patternmaker packaging last year and I must say that I don't really love the Novel Twist packaging. It is all black and the "warm" colors and sets have what looks like a pink paint spatter or drizzle on them and the "cool" colors and sets have a blue paint spatter or drizzle. The two different brush sets both seemed to have black handles and came in black cases with paint spatter on them. I was not a huge fan, but I don't have many brushes and you can't beat these prices. I also prefer the shorter handles because I travel a lot and they just fit in my makeup case better. The e/s and l/s palettes looked like they were just black with paint spatter on them. I couldn't really tell what the l/g looked like or the blushes. I am sorry, I really should have been paying more attention, but it was so crowded in there, I just wanted to pay for my stuff and get out. Sorry and good luck!

The e/s palettes each had 5 colors and they were $35 each.

Re: Novel Twist Discussion

Is this on the Nordies website? I don't have a Nordies by me but if I can order online, that would be so great.
