Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Guess what? I got my hands on the Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation/Loose!!!! I went to Nordie's because I heard a rumor that it was releasing with Heatherette tomorrow and they already had it out. I bought the Medium (I wear NC25 in SFF, NC200 in Hyper Real). Ingredients are as follows (for Medium anyway):

Active Ingredient: titanium dioxide 7.00%
Ingredients: Mica, Hordeum Distichon(barley) extract, triticum vulgare (wheat) germ oil, ascorbyl palmitate, tocopheryl acetate, squalane, methicone, potassium sorbate, chlorphenesin [+/- titanium dioxide, iron oxides, bismuth oxychloride, blue 1, carmine, chromium hydroxide green, chromium oxide greens, ferric ferrocyanide, manganese violet, ultramarines, yellow 5 lake, zinc oxide]

As soon as I got home I washed all my makeup off and put this on with the capplicator and so far I love it!!! It looks very natural, way more so than any other mineral powder I have tried and I thought that Medium would be too dark and I would have to exchange for Light Medium, but I think it will work out just fine. I also got to test most of the Heatherette stuff and now I will be buying way more.

thanks for sharing the list. but ewww.... wheat germ oil! that's notoriously comedogenic for acne prone skin and it's the 3rd ingredient. i guess i'll be skipping this collection

I don't think so...I found out that Nordstrom's was doing a special release tomorrow from the MA at the Dillard's counter near me so I drove to Nordstrom's to make sure that was correct info. and they already had it out for sale with a sign saying that it was Nordstrom's Exclusive. The MA at Dillard's said they are still getting it on April 24th, but who knows when the date will be with all the crazy things happening lately.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

So, I happened to be at Nordie's today looking for a lighter foundation, my NC40 is just too dark right now since I still have my winter color. Well, lo and behold they had the mineral foundation. The MA applied it with the 132 brush and I loved it. It had enough coverage to even out my skintone and it's so light. Bought Medium + and the 132 brush which should also work with my sculpt and shape powder.

Yay! Good thing I wasn't interested in anything from Heatherette, cause I'm not buying anything for a while.

is 132 a new brush releasing w/ this collection or you were meant to say 138 or 182?

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I ordered it online - but not until i called 2 different MAC counters at diff. Nordies to ask details about color. Both gave me the exact same color details so that made it easy. They said its running darker than the solid Mac minerals.

For me before, the solid light was too light & the medium was too dark - so this new one sounds like it will be just right. I'll post as soon as i get it.

I meant 138. I shouldn't type after a shopping spree I just tried it today myself and it is great. It has a very buildable coverage. I used to use BE a few years back and I really like this much better. BE looked a bit chalky on my combo skin.

Bismuth oxycholoride: NOOOO That's the ingredient that gives people rashes. It's a reason many people can't wear BE. I also read it's the ingredient that makes your skin shiny. Everyday minerals and a few others are proudly Bismuth free. Why Mac!!!! I'm sooo bummed.
I am confused also about the wheatgerm oil...

I've been looking forward to this one for sooo long

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

+/- means may or may not, so this is only a list of things possibly in the ingredients... 50-50 Chance.

The only way to know is to e-mail MAC.

I just asked a MA when I bought Heatherette today. He called up Nordstrom for me and they said they're selling it exclusively at Nordstrom right now. Next week is when MAC stores will have it as well. MAC counters will not be carrying this. We'll see (:

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Its available online if anyone wants to peek:

M·A·C Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation (Loose) - What's New - Nordstrom
post #138 of 297

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

is this foundation going to come in Dark and medium deep? I didn't see it on Nordstrom.com.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

the colors that are being released are:

light medium
medium
medium plus
medium dark
medium deep
dark
deep dark
deeper dark

call down people. for some reason nordstrom came out with the collection earlier than anyone else, and they just don't have all the colors online yet. go to your local nordstrom and get your color. otherwise, just wait til it comes out at all locations. btw, these will only be permanent at stores.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Just received the new March Cosmetics catalog from Nordstroms in the mail.
It has a beautiful photo of all the colors & the container looks so nice.
Heres the description:

Pretty Powder With Extra Power

NEW Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation/Loose, the lightest mineral infusion yet, in powder form. This medium-buildable coverage foundation combines vitamins C & E to soothe, yeast & wheat germ to condition, zinc for adhesion & flawless application, & SPF for protection from the sun's damaging rays. $29

I had to order light (NW15). The gals told me that the light medium was too yellow. Sooo, will I still be able to get the light if i fall in love with this? I thought I read earlier that it would not be available as a perm color?
TIA

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I went to Nordstrom today and tried this stuff out, the MA used light. I love how it's super light on my skin and how soft it feels! I think it is worth the $29.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

So I'm NW 20/25... I wear MSFN Medium. But I'm very cool with pink undertones; does that mean I can't wear the Light Medium? It's warm toned?

I think Light is to light for me. I won't be able to see it in person, so any advice is appreciated.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I'm guessing the light is too light for you. The best thing would be to call a Nordstom MAC counter & ask them what would be best for your skin color
post #145 of 297

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I tried this today at Nordstrom and was a bit disappointed. I am NW15 and the light was too dark for me. Also, it was really sparkly; too sparkly for my taste. It felt good going on and gave good coverage, but unfortunately it just didn't work. Bummer! I had high hopes for this.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I ordered this as well today from Nordies. Can't wait to try it (obviously!).

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I love it!
I put it on with my 187 brush and then buff it with the sponge applicator.

I have Bare minerals also and that did not irritate my skin so i have no idea if this one will irritate sensitive skin, sorry.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I got it! I got Light Medium. I have been wearing MSF Naturals for almost a year and this seems to have a lighter, more natural coverage.

Swatches of Mineralize vs. my MSF naturals here:

I'm not sure how I like the coverage and finish yet because it's so different. I'll do an Easter FOTD tomorrow and you guys can be the judge!

Yes! Thats what i'm hoping for. That's what all the MUA had to say about it too. So trying not to get my hopes up until mine arrives & i get to try it. Thanks for the pics

I have pretty decent skin so usually I only wear MSF Natural, applied with a kabuki or other dense brush. I often got cakey or flaky spots, even with Fix+. The Mineralize went on lighter and seemed to melt into my skin better, probably due to all the buffing. It is lighter than the MSF and your real skin shows through more.

I've never worn MMU before so I'm going to have to get used to it but I think I'm really going to like it. I like a really fresh, luminous look and it looks really nice over Strobe.
