MAC - Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion - Page 7

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Ugh... yeah, I saw it said it's great for dry skin...

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

its tested and approved for use on all skin types. its especially great for dry and sensitive skin, but if wheat germ oil was an issue, then you better avoid some other products as well. they only way to know for sure if it works for your skin or not is to try it.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I have combination (winter) to oily (summer) skin. I am very happy with Studio Fix Fluid. Maybe I will try the new MPF at the counter - but it isn't on the top of my wishlist

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

If the mineralize power foundation is not permanent in the U.S. and will only be permanent internationally, then will the mac site still has it up afterward?

On a sidenote, i'm wearing nc35 in moistureblend and im wondering what will be a good match for me in the mineralize powder foundation? I remember somewhat said that brush#138 is a good brush for using mpf right? If not, any suggestion. I found that brush #180 and #182 tend to be fuller coverage and im looking for a sheer to medium. Any suggestion? Thanks.

I think Light is to light for me. I won't be able to see it in person, so any advice is appreciated.
Hi

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I wear NC35, and I don't know whether to go for Medium or Medium Plus. I heard these are supposed to be darker than the Mineralized SkinFinish/Natural. I wear Medium Plus in MSFN. Will Medium Plus be too dark for me in the loose powder?

I wear NC35/40. Right now 35 and I'm wearing Medium Plus. I hope that helps.

I hope so I read somewhere Light MSFN was suppose to be perm for international only; but looking at the site it seems to be permanent for the USA! Maybe they'll keep light for the foundation as well

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Has anyone had any problems using theirs yet?

It's only been a week and I want to give it a chance, but I am so broken out and irritated. I'm hoping it is hormonal but wow... I haven't broken out like this in years. I'm going to give it a few more days and then switch back to MSFN for a couple of weeks and see if my skin goes back to normal or not... I didn't expect it to bother me.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I picked this up today in toronto, the first i've seen of it. The SA advised me to pick a lighter shade than I'd normally wear, she explained that this foundation does darken up on the skin. I'm normally an NC25 in just about all of MAC's other foundations (Select Liquid, Studiofix, StudioTech, Studio Fix Fluid) and she selected 'Light' for me. We tried it on my jawline and it appeared a little light upon application but then blended in to my skin. In fact, she was worried that the lightest shade might end up being too dark for me, so I'll have to test it out at home first! I'll update once I do this. My worry of course is whether this product will break me out, because my skin is dry but seriously acne-prone, i'll be testing this out first on my cheeks before I let it near my angry chin!

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

No, so far for me it hasn't broken out my skin *keeping fingers crossed* I actually thought it made my skin silky smooth. We'll see

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I am about NC35 now and I picked up the medium. So far so good, gives me even finish, and think it is perfect for summer.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed also! I would love to have a powder foundation that might actually work for me, theyre so quick and easy! Any other's I've tried have made my skin itch. I will definitely invest in the 182 of this stuff works out, do ya hear me MAC? That's more money spent, lol!

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Alright, so i have tried this stuff out now a few times. I have to say that even though it is recommended for dry skin, it really didn't sit well on my over-dried skin (thanks to differin). In all fairness though, most foundation, even liquid, doesn't sit well on my skin at the moment because of its condition. However... i then tried mixing my NARS oil-free foundation today with some moisturizer, which doesn't provide much coverage and then used the MAC mineralize loose foundation over it (applied lightly with a powder brush) and my skin looked seriously amazing! It just seemed to add a bit of extra coverage and acted as a finishing powder. I then used a BPB on my cheeks and my skin looked so glowy and smooth! This stuff is definitely a keeper.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I went to a counter yesterday and the MA worked it into my face with the 187 (not the accompanied applicator b/c it wouldn't be clean) and I loved how it looked! Glowy but without shimmer or reflect or what-have-you... my face still looked amazing 5 hours later, afternoon to evening! I'll have to reconsider the upcoming collections if I'm to include this in my hauls...

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I have had this for a couple of weeks now and I love the stuff and the great coverage it gives, but...my chin has a few more zits than normal, I hope it will pass, I just don't want to give it up.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Tempted as I am, I feel like the Light will be too dark for my NC15 skin, and I find that mineral powder saps my face of moisture.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Well, I broke out. Bad. And got extremely dry on top of it. No other MAC product has ever broken me out, even Strobe cream. Oh well. Back to MSF Natural for me.

You're probably right, I'm NC25 and the light seems to be just right at the moment. I'll probably only need to go darker in the summer.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I am really excited about the MF. I am NC 25 in Studiofixfluid (it oxidizes a little on me too), now I wonder, will the Light or the Medium be right for me? I believe there is also also a Light Medium in between (Could not find it at Nordies HP)?

So do you think that this stuff is suitabe for dry skin?

I saw this stuff at my local counter today!
I had no idea it was out already!

I'm NC25 in a few of the other foundations and I have the light shade. It is 'just right' right now coming out of the dead of winter, but if this stuff continues to work out, i'll probably need light-medium at some point in the summer. I do think the medium would be too dark for sure. I really do think this foundation will darken up a little more once it's on seeing as it's a powder.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I bought the Mineralize loose in Medium via Nordstrom. I think the container is weird...the top reminds me of a black pacifier handle and the sponge refill (included) reminds me of a Today contraceptive sponge. Some of the powder tends to "poof" out" when I reattach the capplicator back on the container, which is annoying.

So overall, I'm less than thrilled with the packaging. But I do like the powder foundation itself. It looks good just over moisturizer for light coverage, but I like it even more lightly brushed over Hyperreal with the 275. (I just don't like using a sponge for loose powder application.) The combo of Mineralized Loose and Hyperreal gets my skin as close to flawless as possible without looking like I have a ton of foundation on, and that's saying something since I have an uneven fortysomething skintone. If MAC can refine the packaging somewhat, I'll buy it again.

I have dry skin & this is perfect. It doesn't cake even if you have like dry patches. I did notice this a bit with my BE, but not with this.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I am having trouble finding a brush that I like for concealing with the Mineralize loose. I am using the 194 but does anyone have another suggestion? Also I am starting to warm up to the caplicator.

I don't know if it has a number, but I'm using the flat one that comes with the BE bisque multitasking minerals. I have a hard time using any other brush now.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

final thoughts on this stuff: better as a finishing powder than a foundation...but i like a really polished look, so mineral powders have never really been my forte.

If you want to stick with MAC I would suggest the 182. If you want to look at other great, cheaper brushes check these out:
