MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion - Page 53

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

After reading what you girls thought and seeing som great reviews on youtube (thanks, TDoll) I can't wait to try the goodies out! All those fresh, pretty colours are just my cup of tea! I'm already sure I will get Soft Flower, I've been waiting for that colour, but now I'm also lemming the purple and the brown e/s, not to mention the Crushed Boobs!
How close is Lilac Touch to Illegal Cargo from the Naughty Nautical? How dark is Mineral compred to Satin Taupe?
I have no idea when this collection will show up in Sweden, I hope it won't take more than one more week..

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

yes i'd also like to know if mineral is close to satin tapue

I love satin tapue but don't want a dupe
Im really looking for a dark, cool toned brown. I hope mineral is it but have read that its more tapue than brown hmm
(can anyone recommend any other dark cool toned brown?)

I bought it and it is a very pretty highlighter on the cheekbones or under the eyebrows!

Both are so pretty. Crushed Boob is a must have IMO if you like that soft red natural flush to your lips & cheeks. Personally, I haven't had them break my face out at all & I have pretty sensitive skin. They actually kinda make your skin softer too.

I agree Audrey, the shadows would've made a killer quad. I really, really love Lilac Touch.

No, no one will be too fair for the CB CCB. It blends out so beautifully too. It really looks gorgeous with the BP over top.

No, it's not like Ill. Cargo It's a soft dusty lilac/violet. No, Mineral is not like Satin Taupe at all. Its a nice kinda cool sepia brown. The color really adds depth to the eye lid.

Nope, not at all.

I LOVE it!!!! It is such a gorgeous highlight color. Its more subdued than a starker Luna or Pearl. It looks lovely on the skin.

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

IMO, mineral is darker than satin taupe. It is also satin, where satin taupe is a frost (if I remember correctly). To me, satin taupe has a touch of reddish/bronze to it and this does not. Mineral is more of a deep, grayish-brown.

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but the UK release of Ungaro included the Bare Study Paint Pot. No Essential Beige.

Susanne & elegant-one: which CCB will be better with the flower mist dew? If i'm going to buy, i think i will use it mostly on my cheeks. lol

I am just not convinced that the shadows are all that special... I am trying to talk everything down so I don't go nuts when I actually see it. I only want to spend about $40 at most on this collection, because I am going to be able to buy the holiday stuff at the same time.
Audrey, I think you can skip all of this unless you are going to buy for the packaging. I saw this IRL recently and was decidedly underwhelmed. I came with the $ to buy the whole collection and didn't buy a thing. There are better things to spend your money on coming down the pike with holiday.

I think it depends on what you want:

Crushed Bougainvillea is gorgeous as a blush with Flower Mist Dew on top of it = brighter look

If you use another regular blush and Flower Mist Dew on top of it, Fresh Morning is a great highlighter = softer look

I say go for the first variety

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

Just a general thought:

I think this is a very pretty collection, my standouts are CCB Crushed Bougainvillea, l/g Pastel Emotion and BP Flower Mist Dew.

But all in all I liked McQueen last year so much more

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

Can anyone compare Mineral to Mystery? The MA said they're comparable but silly me forgot to swatch them when I saw Crushed B. =P

There's just something about Mineral that calls to me. There is a slight plumminess to it which makes it work so beautifully with Soft Flower and Lilac Touch (which I'll be duping with Memorabilia). And it's incredibly soft which is great for blending klutzes like me!

and to anyone else who could answer this...
what do you think in how Mineral compares to Showstopper (smoking eyes quad) and Dark Edge (tempting quad)?

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

Something is wrong with me, even after reading through the whole thread I still do not want anything from this collection. Not even Lilac Touch.

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

^^You're not the only one.
I don't want anything either.

ITA. I don't know why. Maybe because the colors were brighter, more "edgy", and that's what I associate with high fashion? Ungaro is very tame by comparison. I still like Ungaro though!

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

BTW I am now anxiously waiting for my crushed boob ccb to get here.

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

Hmm..is the BP worth getting? I haven't gotten a chance to see it in person.

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

I'm just not interested in anything from this or Manish Arora, imo I would much rather get the holiday stuff

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

Ok, I just checked this collection IRL. And just like I though nothing special, the colors are so pale and hard to blend. The only thing I got is the Pastel Emotion because the color is soooo close to the Sugar Trace from Fafi collection. So i purchased as a backup of it. Very pretty color.

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

I just got Crushed Boob CCB and I am scared out of my mind to try it!

^^^ Nooooo Start out with a light touch & blend it out, it will be so pretty on you. Let us know

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

Well after reading elegant-one and Susanne's reviews and raves with this collection I have decided that I am going back for the Crushed Boob CCB, Don't Be Shy See Thru lipglass, and the eye shadows (minus Phloof). I already ordered the Pure Rose lipstick. Do I really need the BP or the lipglass?
And to think that I wanted to skip this all together!!

^^^^ If you want to get one more take the lipglass!

Awww man...did I get you into trouble

I think your choices are perfect! They'll look lovely on you. The see thru lipglass....STAYS so beware

The lipglass is basic pale pink so you could pass - but it does look pretty over Pure Rose & awesome over the see thru lipgloss

The BP...is so hard to describe. Of all the darn BP's & gazillion blushes that I own - it's different from everything else - at least on me.
It gives a very natural light pinky brown healthy look to your face, but not like anything else. This one would be tough to call for someone else's likings.

Hi Suzanne - you're here tonight

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

Yes you did get me in trouble Elegant-one! But I love you for that!

I knew that I wanted these but I just needed you and Susanne to sell me on it.

On another site a look was done with the beauty powder and the CB CCB and it looked chalky and horrible. I just hope that it doesn't turn out like that on me.

As far as the gloss I think I am going to skip that. I have so many pink glosses that I am sure I could mix a few and come up with a similar color. I am really more of a lipstick girl anyways.

hmmm...it's not chalky on me This BP is probably the hardest color for me to describe.

Susanne, 1 am & you're still not tired. I've been like that - at 4am!

Re: MAC - MAC for Ungaro Discussion

I am not sure whether to ask this question here or in the eBay threads. I am from Australia and we dont have this collection yet but was wondering how safe u guys think it is to buy it on eBay since it is new? Are there still going to be fakes out there or because of hte new packaging etc it is fairly safe to buy?

TIA
