The "beachy waves" how-to is spot on. I use to do it when my hair was long and lovely. But, stupid me cut about 12 inches off ... :/

Anyways, I also recommend using a straighting iron for beachy-like waves as well ... I use it on my medium-length hair now ... looks good.
