I need Hair advise

My husband is coming home on R&R soon

And I need to do something with my mop head. i would like to keep it long, but maybe lighten it up a bit?

But defiantly Thin it out!!! It's way to thick! SO if you could do anything to my hair what would it be??? Help!!!
