I would say a close toe shoe with a kitten heel. No wedges (until you get the job). I dont like ballerina flats for interviews. I think they are the same as gym or sporting shoes, but there are some presentable flats. If you are wearing a pants suit, you could wear a modest heel boot (3 in or less) (ankle or tall boots.)

Seriously, it depends on the job you're applying for. If you're applying for a corporate position, then dress corporate. If it's creative, then dress creative. Use your intuition.
