My exclusifs collection got bigger with BOY addition. My experience in Harrods was quite strange. At first when I sniffed it I thought spontaneously " I don't like it" . After 2 minutes and as long as it settled on my skin "OMG"! I liked the complexity and how it evolved into something light, airy but still masculine at the same time ! My boyfriend was like : " You should get that one! It is really unique" . Then at the airport I tried La Pausa and now I know what is my next Les Exclusifs purchase. I also checked the set with all the exclusivs which costs around 230 pounds and omg the bottles are so tiny! I don't know if it's worth really the splurge.

As far as Gabrielle is concerned , unfortunately in my opinion it lacks personality. It's not anything unique. I prefer to save for the new Hermes Twilly which I found to have more character and it lasted on me for the whole day. Gabrielle lasted maybe 2 hours on me and turned into nothing on my skin. I really wanted it to be exceptional but instead I feel disappointed.

you described it well BUT.... it depends what you are expecting . it is not supposed to be unique, mind blowing, wow something super new and never seen. it is supposed to be very commercial, likeable, and easy to sell . chanel needs new coco m that will bring them a lot of $$$. that's all. if you see it that way you won't be disappointed. longevity is pretty poor. sadly. it is beautiful luminous scent

I also did not like Boy at first at all. I purchased it and returned it. It was during summer. then next winter i got mini bottle as a gift and was blown away how much i loved it. So i bought it again!! I am so glad you like la pausa that's the next one on my list too

Yes from that point of view you are totally right. I can understand that . I liked how it smells and how luminus it i, i just wasn't blown away Maybe because i had great expectations and i did not consider the economic factor behind brands these days . Thank God there are the exclusifs for that something extra that our nose needs! Btw Monsy, have you ever tried Frederic Malle perfumes ?

i think many who are chanel fans will be disappointed by expecting something mind blowing... but it will be nice for younger crowd as introduction to chanel. i would like to have shower gel and body lotion to layer them to help with longevity.

i think for chanel lovers truly only les exclusifs are doing the trick like you said...

i tried couple of malle. i am really scared to try more i do not want to get sucked into because it is ridiculously expensice

I received a sample of Gabrielle today - I'm surprised at how spicy it is. I won't be buying it, it's too heavy and rich to me (reminds me of something my grandmother wore - hint of Opium or Shalimar, can't put my finger on it).

Agree with you 100% on this. I like it for the first few minutes after I spray it but then it completely loses me. For a perfume, the longevity is awful. At the 2 hour mark I can barely smell it. I know this wasn't marketed as being anything groundbreaking but you'd think Chanel would try a little harder even if they are trying to sell to a younger crowd.

On the bright side...I picked up YSL Black Orchid and am in love!

I finally got my sample, too. I enjoy it in the beginning but hours later the early scent wears off and now all I smell is patchouli. On my skin it amplifies and lingers. I can't stand patchouli unless it is in very very small amounts. I have to scrub it off.
I'm sure others will love it, but it's not for me.

On the other hand, No 5, L'eau....where have I been? I actually like it and it lasted all day on me... the other flanker, eau premiere or whatever it was called, didn't last at all. And I'm not a huge No 5 fan, but I find L'eau more wearable.

Yes, I like Twilly, too. It reminds of something... I can't recall the name. The dry down is nice.

I think Eau de Cologne will be my next purchase, I've been holding out purchasing it until I tried Gabrielle. Does anyone know if the prices on Les Exclusifs is any better at duty free shops?
