I'm going to have to check out a couple of the pencils you mentioned HG - if something works I don't so much pay attention to the price tag (um, sometimes, yes).

I couldn't resist the caste system comment - it's kinda how I treat my makeup. Sometimes things CAN change caste, depending on my mood :).

Today I used LOVE gloss over a light application of Spitfire & it was really really pretty. So its all good now.

Elegant -- way to go -- hopefully your convo will inspire some customer service changes at Chanel! I love VS makeup, too. I only have glosses, but the colors are gorgeous -- and $10 isn't too bad!

HG -- I will have to swing by the W&W isle next time I am at Target! I have heard that Prestige makes awesome liners. I'll have to check those out, too.

Cheryl -- yes, the caste system of makeup -- love it! I have kicked way to many products to the curb because they don't look as pretty! too funny

518 is a sheer, light, blue-pink with a bit of shimmer. It's not blue enough to look bad on warmish me or too sheer to not show up on my pigmented lips, and the shimmer is not obnoxious. It's very pretty. But how different it will turn out to be from Boy I don't know. If you have access to an Armani counter, maybe at this point you might as well wait to compare? The Rouge d'Armanis are very, very nice and I highly recommend you try one at some point.

I don't understand the Chanel mgr saying the top 22 Nordies are the ones having the Boy preview because mine is on the list Amy posted and they did confirm to me that they're getting it (not that it matters because I'm still ordering online rather than making the trek up there)....they are surely not a top 22 store.

It is being previewed at Neimans and I believe Saks as well...Karla swatched at her Neimans. Wouldn't surprise me if the person you spoke with was given the wrong info by Chanel.

Yeah, I figured she probably didn't know the whole deal, but she read it off of a paper that Nordies sent her. I'm sure it will be different than what we're told. I am still going to get mine at the .com - well, thats if it works that day

Well the 518 sounds so pretty - I trust your description! Nope, none of the counters I contacted so far carry armani beauty. I'm going to call another Saks today to see. I'm sure that if you love it, I will too.

I want that lippie too!!!!!

I've also picked up a couple of Shiseido's new 'gloss lipsticks' - they're quite nice! Lots of pigment, and a good feeling. This seems to be the new trend......HG has been cluing us in.......

oh.. I did get some Clarins stuff too.. but passed on the lg cause I thought it was too dupeable.. nice but not great.. but I am loving their ES... they are "long wear" powder.. so I am checking out the tech.

Elegant.. the 518 is beautiful.. light raspberry pink with a very sublte shimmer.. it makes my lips look flocky

the waterproof eyepencils hold up really well.. I did test them last year and loved them.. I can finnagle a couple in Italy, but I much prefer paying not asking for favors

Elegant.. you should really swatch some of those Arm ls sticks.. for flocky lips..

C! -- the trend is your frind ! and the trend for spring/summer is definitely a subtle gloss/glaze with powerful pigmentation.. and they are all coming in ls form

back to Chanel.. I also got the Insolente ls.. to match my np.. it is gorgeousness personified !

Elegant -- I knew when I saw it that swatch that we'd all be getting it! I threw it in my Nordies online bag! I might as well get the Armani lippie while I'm at it.

Oh my HG -- with all of your recs I am doomed -- but I'll be lookin' pretty!

Winthrop and Cheryl -- are you getting the Clarins Lilac Pink, too??

What a VERY CLASSY beginning to the super bowl!!! best ever. Christina Ag. (sp?) looked so darn elegant & classy I loved her makeup - oh & her shoes!
