I was trying hard not to embarass myself by asking, but I need to know since I want a bunch of the paint pots. What are paint pots used for?

are mattenes hit or miss? I find some MAC matte lipsticks to be creamy and easy to wear while others are a dry mess on my lips. If the mattenes wear well, I plan on getting all 10

unless two colors look very similar then I'll cut down. I've never had a mattene though!

Don't be embarrassed! They can be used alone as shadows or as a base over which to layer other shadows.

I find that the mattenes I've tried (I think I have four or five) have been much more consistent than matte lipsticks. There hasn't been one that I felt departed from the formula. Well worth the purchase price.

Paint Pots! so excited for this collection, but I have never tried the lipsticks so that will be interesting considering I'm not really a big fan of mattes

I'm excited about the paint pots! I've been using Painterly as my e/s primer for 2 years now and for me it's better than UDPP. Still have to test it against TFSI.

I don't really like painterly because it's too pink and light for my skintone.. but I want to finish it and I have to remember to use it as a base everytime I do a look (why do I forget about use a base???). anyway how long does it take to a paint pot to finish? of course I should also know if you use it everyday or once a week :p

Realistically, I think it would take me 2 years to finish one even if I use it on a daily basis. I replace my Painterly every 6 to 12 month, but there is still a lot of product left. While I like p/p, I wish they would come in a smaller size so I don't have to waste too much product. Personally, I don't think it's safe to use a cream product for longer than 12 months - especially on or around my eyes, even if I wash my brushes on a daily basis. Thus a smaller size (half of it!) would be much appreciated. I usually alternate Painterly with another p/p (whatever LE collex that is).

Are you NC or NW? If you are NC, you might want to try Soft Ochre.

you can scoop out like half of the paint pot and put it in a different container and just use that one so that the other half in the original container is left untouched until u finish the first half :)

I've done that before and stored the other half in the fridge, but it still dried out a bit. I'm o.k. with only using two p/p at a given time, especially if I use them just as a base. I'm sure people would complain if MAC would reduce the amount of product you get (let's say you would pay 10 bucks but get only half of the product). I would love it. It's different with other creamy or liquid products, such as lustre drops as the nozzle is so tiny that it feels safe. I'm still excited about new p/p. The antiqued gold one is calling my name.

This is making me want to give the pp's I have now some love... I haven't used any of them in a long time, I just seem to like having them.

It's the classy packaging - the glass container - that makes them attractive. I'm glad that they come in glass containers rather than plastic.
